Veritas, Integritas, Justitia : 75 Years
of the Ateneo Law School coffee table
book bagged the 10th Philippine Quill Award
of Excellence for Communications Skills in
the Publications Category. The book offers a
visual experience of the Ateneo Law School’s
legacy through compelling stories with old
and contemporary photographs of the people,
events, and places that brought and continue
to raise the institution’s excellence in legal
education. In addition, by blending the old and
the new, the book offers a panoramic view of
how gallant the Philippines’s legal profession has
progressed in the last seven decades years.
“Many other images touch the heart,” outgoing
Ateneo de Manila University president and Fr.
Bienvenido F. Nebres, SJ, writes in the preface.
In his foreword. Fr. Joaquin G. Bernas, SJ, a
constitutionalist and twice ALS dean, said that
the book captures the law school’s contribution
to nation-building. Its students have won in local
and international moot court competitions,
Bernas wrote.
“Its graduating students regularly reap the
highest percentage of passing in the national Bar
Examinations. Many alumni are highly respected
in law practice, in the world of legislation, in
local and national executive positions. More and
more alumni are being appointed to the various
levels of the judiciary including the Supreme
Court.”
Written by veteran journalists and Ateneo law
students, the coffeetable book is published
for the Ateneo Law School by Mediawise
