CE PRIMARY ACADEMY
Inspiring. Educating. Developing children- promoting learning for life.
Welcome to Our School
Thank you for your interest in the post of Head Teacher at St Peter’s CE Primary Academy.
This is a rare and excing opportunity to join a thriving semi-rural primary school. Our school is a happy and welcoming place, where all children learn and grow within a culture of equality, respect and consideraon for others. Working closely with the Diocese of Leicester and the local church, St Peter’s, our school ethos reflects strongly our school
values which are confidently and proudly expressed as Chrisan. Our dedicated and caring staff team are supported
by a keen and developing governing body that have a genuine interest in supporng the Head Teacher, staff, families
and children.
Parents take an acve interest in their children’s school life and learning, not least through the Friends of St Peter’s
who organise the social and fundraising aspects of school, raising on average £10,000 per academic year to support
school projects.
We have strong links with the Bosworth Educaon Partnership (BEP) and locally with the onsite pre-school Stepping
Stones, the Market Bosworth School and Bosworth Academy. Our links provide excellent opportunies for children,
in addion to high quality staff and governor development. The new Head Teacher will be instrumental in further
developing these opportunies.
In 2012, we were the first Voluntary Aided primary school within Leicestershire to convert to a standalone academy.
As a proacve Governing Body, we are now responding to Government agenda and currently exploring Mul-Academy Trust opons: an excing part of our future in delivering a collaborave primary educaon. In 2014, a SIAMS
inspecon judged St Peter’s Primary Academy to be good, followed by Ofsted which also judged us to be good in all
areas.
We are seeking a Head Teacher who shares our values and ambions, and has the vision, drive, resilience and experience to build on exisng successes. As a Governing Body, we endeavour to employ someone who will strive for excellence in all areas of school life; encouraging outstanding progress and achievement whilst nurturing individuality,
creavity and self-confident learners. In order to achieve this, we seek a Head Teacher who will work alongside our
staff and governors to take the school forward on the next stage of its journey, onwards and upwards!
We look forward to receiving your applicaon.

St Peter’s CE Primary Academy has a clear vision to provide an inspiring, caring and challenging education
of the highest quality for all children. All children are encouraged and supported to achieve their potential
through a rich and varied curriculum. In addition to having high expectations of academic achievement

We offer a wide range of extra-curricular clubs, delivered by dedicated and skilled members of staff. Most
recently, the Gardening Club have helped to develop the planting around school, the varied musical groups
performed at the annual Summer Concert and success has been celebrated by many of our sporting teams
and individuals.
As a Church of England School, we promote a strong Christian ethos through the teachings of our key

we nurture the social and spiritual well-being of our children, ensuring everyone is treated with equal
respect and opportunity. We enjoy close links with St. Peter's Church and look forward to welcoming the

We currently have 248 children on role taught across 8 classes by hardworking and committed staff. We
have 19% on our SEND record with a wide range of individual needs and, in 2015/16, we received £28,992

staff, church and community representatives. We have a committed and enthusiastic PTA, the Friends of
St Peter’s, who regularly organise fund raising events for children, parents and the residents of Market

About Market Bosworth
Market Bosworth is a small Market Town and Civil Parish within a conservaon area that is steeped
in history, most famously known for the Bale of Bosworth Field that took place in 1485. The final
bale in the War of the Roses, between the House of Lancaster and the House of York, took place
to the south of the town and saw the defeat of King Richard the III by Henry Tudor.
The war memorial at the heart of Bosworth, known as the Square honours 19 local men who died
in the First World War and a further 11 men that died in the Second World War. Edward I, known
as Edward Longshanks, gave a royal charter to Sir William Harcourt allowing a market to be held
every Wednesday. This market sll takes place today. The Town also regularly enters into Britain in
Bloom and now celebrates 30 years of success, most recently a gold award in 2012 and 2015.
The village is experiencing growth with families aracted by not just the history of this beauful
market town but the rural seng, good schools and facilies. Market Bosworth has great amenies
ranging from shops, GP pracce, denst, bank, hair and beauty salons, pubs, restaurants and
community halls along with acve sports clubs including a golf course, football, rugby, a bowling
green and a beauful country park. There are three churches, Anglican, Catholic and Free Church.
St Peter’s Church is one of the oldest buildings in Bosworth that dates back to the 14th century.
Within the Church is the Dixie memorial that commemorates various members of the family who
first came to Bosworth in 1567. There is a new Marina that feeds from Ashby Canal which runs
parallel to the Balefield Line. There is a Fire Staon and Bosworth Water Trust along with further
amenies such as Twycross Zoo, supermarkets and leisure centres within easy reach.
