Special Thanks to Our Fall
Scientific Symposium Supporters
On behalf of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
(ASOPRS), we are excited to welcome you to the 46th Annual Fall Scientific Symposium:
Winning Big: Strategies for Success in Oculofacial Plastic Surgery. The ASOPRS fall
symposium has been the premiere venue for innovations and advances in the art and
science of oculofacial plastic surgery. We are excited to continue that great tradition with
two days filled with stimulating and informative presentations encompassing the breadth
of our specialty.
Among the highlights of this year’s scientific program are presentations from our
renowned national and international colleagues. We will also feature panels discussing
complex orbital disease, facial fillers and new aesthetic technologies. We are delighted
to host our featured speakers, plastic surgeon Claudio DeLorenzi, MD, the world’s
foremost expert on facial filler complications and James Rosenbaum, MD,
rheumatologist and expert in orbital inflammatory disease. Additionally, our Society will
honor John Holds, MD, who will give the Annual ASOPRS Foundation Lecture. In the
great Las Vegas fight tradition, we are introducing Oculoplastics Smackdown — pitting
two teams of oculoplastic surgeons against each other battling over controversial
oculoplastic concepts. Finally, we will end the scientific symposium on Friday with a panel
discussing Hollywood’s Perspectives on Beauty and Aging with Dr. Paul Nassif, facial
plastic surgeon and star of Botched and filmmaker Brett Ratner, co-founder of RatPac
Entertainment. Please come early and enjoy the YASOPRS Eye Opener Sessions and
leave time to visit the poster and video sessions that are unique each day.
As always, we are incredibly appreciative to the sponsors and exhibitors that help
underwrite this educational meeting. The vendor exhibits are an important feature of
this meeting. Please take the time to visit them and learn about the latest commercial
products and services available to oculofacial plastic surgeons. Susan Carter, MD,
Secretary of Meetings and Industry Relations Committee Chair, deserves tremendous
credit for arranging this year’s industry participation.
We would like to extend our thanks to our colleagues who helped us create this
outstanding program. The abstract review committee played a critical role in reviewing
over 400 abstracts submitted. The staff at the Executive Office led by Tisha Kehn and
Amanda Macrina were invaluable in helping put this meeting together. Most of all we
are grateful to those who submitted their abstracts for presentation and our ASOPRS
colleagues who have agreed to moderate, speak and participate on panels.
ASOPRS is dedicated to outstanding clinical care, education, and innovation in
oculofacial plastic surgery. We are grateful for your attendance at this year’s symposium.
Please take a few minutes to complete the online meeting evaluation form to ensure
that future symposia meet your needs. It is a tremendous privilege to serve as Program
Chairs, and we hope you will enjoy this year’s meeting!
Sincerely,

independently of commercial influence.
Therefore, all individuals presenting have been required to disclose relationships with commercial entities that provide products or services related
to the content they are presenting. The ASOPRS CME Subcommittee has conducted a conflict of resolution process with these individuals, which
may have included reviewing their presentation for indicators of integrity and absence of bias. All presentations have been determined to not contain
commercially biased information, to be balanced, to be evidence-based or other indicators of integrity. In addition, all faculty with relevant commercial
relationships have agreed to keep their presentation free from commercial bias. All financial disclosures submitted by faculty are published below.
During the educational activities, the moderators have been asked to identify situations in which a presenter does not uphold the agreement above,
by bringing the potential bias to the attention of the audience at the conclusion of the speaker’s presentation. Meeting attendees may also bring their
concerns of potential bias to the microphone during the Q&A portion of the session. Attendees are also given the opportunity to comment on bias in
the meeting evaluation.
If through observation at the meeting, or meeting evaluations, any faculty is determined to have presented a biased lecture, the CME Subcommittee will
follow up in writing with the individual and may bar the individual from speaking at future meetings.

The American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS)
was founded in 1969 to establish a qualified body of surgeons who have training
and experience in the highly specialized field of oculofacial plastic surgery. ASOPRS has
achieved this through their commitment to the advancement of education, research
and the quality of clinical practice in the fields of aesthetic and reconstructive surgery
specializing in the eyelids, orbits, lacrimal system and face. Today, the Society has over
600 national and international members.
To meet our mission, ASOPRS accredits and oversees post-graduate fellowships across the
United States, training well qualified physicians in the field of oculofacial plastic surgery.
ASOPRS presents an annual Fall Scientific Symposium prior to the AAO Subspecialty Day,
as well as a Spring Meeting available to members only.
ASOPRS is an honorary society, with entry requirements including a 2-year Societysponsored oculoplastics fellowship, oral and written examinations and approval of
an original thesis. Other pathways to membership are available to those who did not
complete an ASOPRS-accredited fellowship, and for international oculoplastics surgeons.

Meet the New
Master in Lacrimal
Duct Intubation
Introducing Masterka
The MASTERKA is a “pushed”
monocanalicular nasolacrimal duct
intubation stent that requires no
intranasal recovery and is anchored
at the punctum by a plug.
• Faster Procedure - comparable to a simple
probing technique
• Less Traumatic - no retrieval from the nose
• Easier Intubation - a probe guide inside the tube
facilitates stent insertion through ducts
Visit FCI-Ophthalmics.com to watch
