The Shaker hymn describes a circular journey from
innocence to innocence with characteristic brevity:
’Tis the gift to be simple, ’tis the gift to be free.
’Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be.
This journey is easier sung about than done. It takes
humility and time to recover a second innocence. Titles,
positions of honor, money, and power are not requirements
of the kingdom of God. Jesus says and demonstrates in
today’s Gospel that members of God’s kingdom must hold
in their embrace the most inconsequential of persons, for
that person is identified with Jesus. This attitude ran counter
to the intuition of the world of Jesus’ time, as it does in ours.
The simplicity set forth by Jesus requires the shedding
of unnecessary, unimportant, false, and burdensome
attachments that earthly power demands. Membership in
the Kingdom is light enough to put a song in our heart.

Love is Our Mission: The Family Fully Alive
Created for Joy and for Mission
We are more than an accident of evolution. We are greater than the sum of our
biology. God exists. He is good. He loves us. He made us in his image to share
in his joy. He takes an active hand in our lives. He sent his only Son to restore
our dignity and lead us home to him. He also gives us a Mission of Love. God
works through us. We have a mission. We are in the world for a purpose — to
receive God’s love and to show God’s love to others. God seeks to heal a broken
universe. He asks us to be his witnesses and helpers in that work. ~Pope Francis

“Sharing, Learning and Growing in Christ”
A few words from our principal, Mrs. Gonzalez...
Welcome back! I pray that everyone has enjoyed their summer and recharged their batteries for
an exciting year of learning and service.
I am very excited to announce that this year we will be piloting a Dual Language program in
our school. Our students will be instructed in two languages, making them not just bilingual but
bi-literate. These students will not only be able to speak a second language but will be able to
read and write it as well.

I ask that you keep all employees of the school in your prayers so that we may fulfill our
mission to educate our children and bring them closer to Christ.
On behalf of our school faculty and staff, I would like to wish you all a wonderful school year
and leave you with this prayer for students...
Lord our God, in your wisdom and love
you surround us with the mysteries of the universe.
Send your Spirit upon these students and
fill them with your wisdom and blessings.
Grant that they may devote themselves to their studies and
draw ever closer to You, the Source of all knowledge.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
Ils finissent
par se tourner vers les religions païennes. Ce croyant fidèle est
exposé aux persécutions de ses plus proches. Pour les chrétiens
d’aujourd’hui, cela n’a guère changé.

a inocencia:

practicantes a unirse a nosotros.
