To ensure an exceptional build quality is consistently
achieved, each department within the production
line thoroughly inspects the work completed before
them. Once a stove has been built, it is checked
against set guidelines by our quality control team.
Since the first Aarrow stove was made over 25 years ago, the Aarrow brand has been
associated with truly excellent design, impeccable quality and superior performance.
We don’t just build our stoves in Dorset, we also
source as many of the raw materials as possible
from the UK. Each supplier is carefully selected and
strong relationships, built over time, ensure high
quality raw materials are always used in the
manufacture of our stoves.
This is why we are currently the only stove
manufacturer to offer a lifetime guarantee*.
Each and every stove is handcrafted
within our purpose-built factory, to
European Standard EN13240.

PADS (Primary Air Diversion System)
No other manufacturer offers a complete system to
maximise the efficiency of both wood and solid fuel.
We call it PADS (Primary Air Diversion System).
It allows an under draught of air beneath solid fuel or
an over draught for wood to ensure each fuel burns in
its favoured environment.
These investigations have kept Aarrow at the
forefront of stove design, developing features
such as the airwash system, secondary
burning and the PADS system.
The end result is a highly efficient and
controllable stove that is easy-to-use. Stoves

efficiency ratings of over 80%.

used and more heat is generated.
Airwash System
Directs pre-heated air evenly across the fire door creating
a shield between the fire chamber and the glass,
ensuring you always see the flames clearly.
Secondary/Tertiary Burn
The secondary burn system controls the flow of air within
the stove, circulating air to allow any unburnt gasses to
re-ignite, generating extra heat.
For wood burning, the tertiary burn system introduces hot
oxygen into the firebox, directly at the heart of the stove.
This then ignites the unburnt gases and results in greater
efficiency, a cleaner chimney and less pollution.

The environment
Choosing the right stove...
Fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas evolve from natural materials that absorbed carbon dioxide from the atmosphere
millions of years ago. When burnt, the carbon dioxide is released, leading to increased concentrations within the atmosphere.
The difference between wood and fossil fuels is one of time scale.
Burning wood also releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. However,
the same amount of carbon dioxide is absorbed by the tree whilst growing
over the previous few months or years, creating a balance between carbon
emitted and absorbed.
Therefore burning wood as a fuel is considered to be carbon neutral.
For those that are buying a stove for the first time, we offer

“You should sweep your chimney at the very least once a

As a natural and renewable fuel, wood is the
natural first choice for burning as long as it is
dry and well seasoned. Hard woods such as
Oak, Beech, and Ash will give the most heat
and burn for longer, with soft woods you will
need more frequent refuelling.

To get the most from your wood you need
to make sure it is properly seasoned.
This will mean buying from a reputable
supplier or storing your own cut and split
wood for at least 18 months to allow the
moisture content to fall to around 20%.
Burning unseasoned wood is bad for your
chimney. It will not give out as much heat
and you will not get that beautiful clean
glass and a truly enjoyable real fire.

What is seasoned wood?

Taking its style from traditional wood burning
stoves but brought up to date with modern clean
lines, the Sherborne stove will make a beautiful
feature in any room. Of course, behind its time
honoured two-door exterior is the technology that
makes Aarrow the best of British-built stoves.

Summer Storage
Ensure that your stove is left clean and moving
components are well lubricated for the summer months
or during periods of prolonged non use. If possible
store the throat plate outside the stove and check all
components at regular intervals. Allow air movement
through the stove, by opening the controls and leaving
the door ajar. This will keep your stove in the best
possible condition for the coming winter months.
