Q&A
Q. What is the Extra Blonde shade series?
A. The Extra Blonde series gives colorists maximum lifting action and toning in one easy step.
It is designed for natural levels 5 and higher.
Q. What is the mixing and timing for the Extra Series?
A. All of the Extra Blondes are mixed in a 1:2 ratio with 9% or 12 % (30 or 40 Volume) only, and should only
be used with Matrix Cream Developer. They are processed for 50 minutes without heat.
Example: 30ml UL-AA + 60ml SOCOLOR.beauty 12% (40 Volume) developer.
Q. Can the new Extra Blonde shades be mixed with other SOCOLOR.beauty shades?
A. The Extra Blondes cannot be mixed with other SOCOLOR.beauty shades, but can be intermixed within
the Extra series.
The Extra Blondes are formulated for maximum lifting and are used with 9% or 12% (30 or 40 Volume)
developer only.
Q. Can I achieve grey coverage with the new Extra Blonde shades?
A. The Extra shades are not recommended for grey coverage or to be used on anyone with more than 25%
grey.
Q. Can I refresh with Color Sync?

Q&A
Q. What are the new SOCOLOR.beauty Extra Coverage Blonde shades?
A. The new SOCOLOR.beauty shades feature three level 10 shades. These shades provide a range of new
possibilities for grey coverage and blending at the lightest level. With a subtle range of tone, from neutral, to
ash, to gold.
Q. How can I identify the new SOCOLOR.beauty Extra Coverage Blonde shades?
A. The new SOCOLOR.beauty Extra Coverage Blonde shades are identified by the numbers 510 and the
letters G, N and Na.
The shades in the series are:
510G – Extra Coverage Extra Light Gold Blonde
510N - Extra Coverage Extra Light Neutral Blonde
510Na - Extra Coverage Extra Light Neutral Ash Blonde
Q. How are the new SOCOLOR.beauty Extra Coverage Blonde shades used?
A. The new SOCOLOR.beauty Extra Coverage Blonde shades can be used exactly like the other
SOCOLOR 500 series shades. They can be used alone or mixed with any other SOCOLOR.beauty family to
add extra grey coverage to your formula. The 500 series is recommended for use on hair that is 50% grey
or more.
Q. On what levels can the new SOCOLOR.beauty Extra Coverage Blonde shades be used?
A. The new SOCOLOR.beauty Extra Coverage Blondes are available in 3 shades: 510G, 510N and 510Na.
The shades are recommended to be used on levels 7 to 10 with 50% or more grey. Mix with 6% (20V) Matrix
Cream Developer for best results.
Q. What is the mixing and timing for the new SOCOLOR.beauty Extra Coverage Blonde shades?
A. The new SOCOLOR.beauty Extra Coverage Blonde shades are mixed like any SOCOLOR 500 series
shade: 1:1 with 6% (20V) Matrix Cream Developer. Process for 35 to 45 minutes at room temperature
without using heat.
Example: 45ml 510G + 45ml 6% (20V) Matrix Cream Developer
Q. Can I achieve grey coverage with the new SOCOLOR.beauty Extra Coverage Blonde shades?
A. The new SOCOLOR.beauty Extra Coverage Blonde shades provide maximum grey coverage for a level
10 and are recommended for hair that is 50% or more grey. As a general rule for coverage, best coverage
is achieved when choosing a shade that is 1-2 levels from the starting level. That means that hair that is a
level 8 or lighter or more than 75% non-pigmented will achieve the best coverage with the 510 shades. Hair
that is darker than a level 8 and between 50-75% non-pigmented will result in blending.
Q. Can I use a different volume of developer with the 500 series?
A. Yes, but for the best most predictable results when covering grey hair it is recommended to use 6% (20V).
Using a different developer such as 3% (10V) or 9% (30V) could result in less coverage, banding or results that
are warmer than expected.

Q&A
What differentiates LIGHTINSIDER from traditional powder lighters?
The non-ammonia cream lightener provides optimum conditioning, can be used on or off scalp,
and produces up to 6 levels of lift with steady processing.
Can LIGHTINSIDER be used on the scalp?
Yes, LIGHTINSIDER can be used for both on-scalp and off-scalp applications with 3% (10V) or 6% (20V)
or 9% (30V) Colorinsider Oil-Cream Developer.
What does ODS stand for?
‘ODS’ stands for Oil Delivery System. Unlike traditional lightening systems which are water-based,
LIGHTINSIDER contains oil. This oil-rich system maximizes the efficiency of the lightening process
by facilitating the delivery of active ingredients into the hair fiber, optimizing their effect.
How does ODS work?
LIGHTINSIDER’s Injection ODS utilizes the latest Oil Delivery System (ODS) technology to boost the active
lightening ingredients (persulfates, MEA and H2O2) when applied to hair. It ensures improved fiber respect
with 27% more conditioning (vs. traditional ammoniated powder lightener), maximizing the effectiveness
of the lightening system.
What ALKALI is used?
LIGHTINSIDER uses MEA (monoethanolamine) and sodium metasilicate as its alkaline agents and does not
use ammonia. MEA is a common alkaline agent that can be found in some permanent haircolors.
Can LIGHTINSIDER be used with any developer?
No. LIGHTINSIDER is an ODS lightening system has its own designated developer and has been
formulated specifically for use with COLORINSIDER Oil-Cream Developer.
Can LIGHTINSIDER be used with different strengths of Oil-Cream Developer?
Yes, LIGHTINSIDER is designed to be used with different strengths of Colorinsider Oil-Cream Developer.
The desired lift will determine the strength used 3% (10V) or 6% (20V) or 9% (30V).
How is LIGHTINSIDER mixed?
1 sachet (27g powder) + 1 tube (30g cream) + 90ml of Colorinsider Oil-Cream Developer; one box = one
application Shake powder sachet to loosen contents. Open sachet and carefully pour entire contents (27g)
into a non-metallic bowl Slowly add 3% (10V), 6% (20V) or 9% (30V) Colorinsider Oil-Cream Developer. Mix
until blended. Add tube (30 g) of Lightening Cream and mix again.
Do all the three components need to be used with the LIGHTINSIDER system?
Yes, LIGHTINSIDER has a unique mixing formula and all three components are required to achieve
an optimum result.
Is a precise application important with LIGHTINSIDER?
As with any decolorizing service, it is recommended to use fine sections for optimal results.
Finer sub-sections along with a precise application will provide lighter, more even results.
Can LIGHTINSIDER be mixed with Colorinsider?
No. LIGHTINSIDER cannot be mixed with Colorinsider or any other haircolor.
Should application be done on wet or dry hair?
LIGHTINSIDER must be applied to dry hair only. Water on the hair reduces the effectiveness of the ODS
system. Results cannot be guaranteed on damp hair.
Can heat be used for processing?
No. LIGHTINSIDER has been developed to work at room temperature for up to 50 minutes. Do not use heat.
Who is the LIGHTINSIDER client?
The LIGHTINSIDER client wants best-in-class lightening system, a comfortable odor-free salon experience,
and conditioned, shiny results. It is perfect for those clients being introduced to a lightening process for the
first time. It is also a good option for over-processed, fragile fine hair, and on different textures of hair.
I would like to tone the hair after lightening. Can I do this with COLOR SYNC?
Yes, once the desired level is reached, rinse the LIGHTINSIDER thoroughly, shampoo and towel-dry.
Tone the hair with chosen Color Sync formula as directed.
