Hotel Bora Bora
Hotel Bora Bora
Hotel Bora Bora
Located on a beautiful white sand beach at Point Raititim the Hotel Bora
Bora has been consistently rated as one of the best resort hotels in the
world. To maintain this position the hotel was closed for four months at
the beginning of 1999 when major renovation works were carried out to
improve the hotels public areas and refurbish the overwater bungalows.
Hotel Marara
Your transfer to the hotel is by the resort private boat which takes approximately
25 minutes to cross the lagoon, a wonderful way to start your visit. Set in 10
acres of private gardens with 1900 feet of white sand beach frontage this
internationally acclaimed deluxe resort has 55 units in eight categories ranging
from beach bungalows through to premium over water bungalows.
All the bungalows provide a living room, bedroom with en-suite bathroom,
sitting room and sundeck. The over water bungalows include a spacious bedroom
facing the sea, a separate lounge over looking a sundeck and bathroom. Premium
over-water bungalows are set in deeper water, and have four poster beds. All have
overhead fans and private facilities including free standing tub baths and separate
showers. Other features are tea/coffee facilities, hairdryers, private bar,
radio/cassette player and personal safes. Telephones are optional!
The hotel’s Matira restaurant serves international cuisine combining fresh local
produce, while the Pofai bar and restaurant is ideal for your more informal dining.
So if you are looking for that very special place at which to spoil yourself, and
rub shoulders with the rich and famous, then the Hotel Bora Bora is that place!
The Sofitel Marara is an all bungalow ‘fare’
property, in a delightfully romantic setting.
Backed by lush vegetation overlooking Bora
Bora’s Nunue Lagoon and finest beach. One
hour from Papeete by daily scheduled flight,
then by motor launch and mini bus.

the traditional Polynesian style, offering a choice of
garden, beachfront or stunning ‘over the water’
positions, all tastefully furnished and comfortably
spacious.
The hotel’s restaurant and bar is built on stilts above
the lagoon and offers Tahitian style entertain-ment
and exotic cocktails.
Leisure facilities include glass bottom boat trips,
catamaran excursions, Island cruises and picnics,
waterskiing, fishing, parasailing and tennis.

Le Maitai Polynesia
The hotel is located on Bora Bora’s main island
in the area of Matira point on the south
western corner, just a 10 minute drive from
the boat dock. The hotel has been developed
either side of the islands coastal road, its
architecture is very Polynesian in design, with
an extensive use of wood and local materials.
The grounds have been tastefully landscaped to
ensure that the buildings blend into the islands
natural foliage. There are four choices of
accommodation, air conditioned hotel style room,
Villa suites, Beach bungalows and Overwater
bungalows. All come well appointed with private
bathrooms. The hotel’s Haere Mai restaurant serves
local dishes as well as European cuisine and the bar
serves up some great tropical cocktails. The Le
Maitai is not a resort hotel and is not a location that
we would suggest for long stays, but if you only
want a short stay on Bora Bora and you are looking
for real value for money accommodation then the Le
Maitai is the place for you.

Pool at Pearl Beach
Bora Bora Pearl Beach
We believe that the Pearl Beach resort is truly
one of Bora Bora’s real pearls, reached from
the airport by a 15 minute boat ride across the
lagoon. This newly built resort opened in June
1998 and it’s local designer and owners have
created the resort to blend in with the
environment and to be sensitive to the culture
of the Polynesian peoples of Bora Bora. Where
possible local materials have been used in the
construction of the hotel and a great deal of
the wood that has been used was taken from
the trees that were cleared to make way for
the resort.
Situated on the Tevairoa Motu on the western side
of the lagoon the hotel faces across the lagoon to
the main island, and affords the early risers some
truly spectacular sunrises.
There are four categories of accommodation from
which to choose, 10 beach suites, 35 overwater
bungalows, 15 premium overwater bungalows and
20 garden suites.
The overwater bungalows offer all the amenities
that you would expect from a more expensive 5
star hotel, mini bar, overhead fan, full shower and
bath, hair dryer, coffee/tea maker, a king size bed
and an international direct dial phone. A special
feature of the overwater bungalows are the glass
fish viewing panels which frame the bath and wash
basin. There is also a glass top table that lets you
view the fish from the comfort of your bamboo
lounge chair, or you can descend the steps from
your private terrace and hand feed the fish, this is
truly a very special experience. The only difference
between the standard and the premium overwater
bungalows is their location, they are located further
out into the lagoon and have an uninterupted view
across the lagoon to the main island.
The beach bungalows offer the same amenities as
the overwater bungalows except that the living area
Bora Bora Lagoon Resort
is larger and the bathrooms have been enclosed in
an outdoor private garden and the bath has been
replaced with a jacuzzi. These bungalows have been
designed with lovers in mind.
The walled garden/pool bungalows feature all the
facilities of the beach bungalows but they have an
outdoor shower and a plunge pool in the garden.
We believe that “for lovers” these rooms are the
very best!
The resort features a large fresh water swimming
pool, a lounge bar and a poolside restaurant open
for drinks and lunch. The main restaurant is located
on the top of the reception building and is open for
breakfast, lunch and dinner its setting offers
spectacular views across the lagoon to Mount
Otemanu.
For the energetic the hotel offers all of the expected
water sports (powered activities charged for locally)
as well as tennis and badminton.
The hotel provides a complementary shuttle boat to
the main island from 8am to 11pm daily.
The Pearl Beach resort is a real treasure in an ocean
of superlatives.
Pearl Beach, beach bungalows
Bora Bora Lagoon
The Bora Bora Lagoon Resort vies with the
Hotel Bora Bora for the accolade of the top
resort hotel in French Polynesia. However we
feel that they both have unique qualities that
set them apart from the rest, and each other.
The resort’s location is one of its biggest
pluses. It is built on 12 acres of lush tropical
gardens on the outer island of Toopua facing
across the lagoon to Mount Otemanu on the
main island. The mountain provides the
foreground for some spectacular sunrises. In
the evenings the facing side of the mountain is
bathed in the soft orange glow of a Pacific
sunset which is a truly beautiful sight.
There are four categories of accom-modation to
select from, with 12 Garden cottages, 16 Beach
cottages, 50 Overwater bungalows and 2 suites.
All have been beautifully decorated and feel every
inch a Five Star experience.
Built of wood in a traditional Tahitian style with
thatched roofs and polished wooden floors, they
come complete with a king size bed, private sun
decks, international direct dialling telephones,
satellite television, mini bar, coffee/tea makers and a
safe. The bathrooms offer separate shower units and
hair dryers. All rooms are fan cooled and for those
who want it the hotel offers full air conditioning in
some of its Garden cottages and Overwater
bungalows - these are available on request at the
time of booking. The overwater bungalows have an
illuminated glass coffee table with a sliding top for
fish watching or feeding. Or you can descend the
steps from your sun deck and feed the fish directly
from your hand.
The Dining at the Bora Bora Lagoon is some of
finest to be found in the Pacific. The Otemanu
restaurant, which is the main dining room, is poised
right on the water’s edge and affords panoramic
views across the lagoon to the main island. The
menu offers both Continental and Polynesian dishes
with fish a speciality. Less formal dining can be
found at the Cafe Fare adjacent to the swimming
pool, which is open for all day dining.
For the active there are the full range of water sports
to enjoy, plus tennis and volley ball as well as a
fully equipped fitness centre. The hotel provides a
courtesy shuttle launch throughout the day to the
main island, where you can rent a car or bicycle and
go exploring or take the adventure trail in a four
wheel drive vehicle and ascend the mountain!
In our opinion The Bora Bora Laggoon Resort is an
experience that will never disappoint and a memory
that will never fade.

Manihi lies 312 miles Northeast of Tahiti and is reached by a daily flight from
Papeete (yes just one a day). The island is shaped like a sand and coral necklace
that surrounds a crystal clear lagoon that’s nineteen miles long and three and a
half miles wide. The surrounding white sand islets are thick with lush green
vegetation where the palm trees languish under the warm pacific sun and are
caressed by the warm trade winds which fan the island. Manihi has not only been
blessed with stunning natural beauty, but it also the home of the world famous
Tahitian black pearl, which grows in the warm waters of the lagoon. Whether
you are looking for that holiday with a difference, the place where your romantic
dreams will come true or to just escape the rat race, then look no further as we
believe Manihi will fulfil all your expectations.
Manihi Pearl Beach Resort Restaurant and Pool
The Poe Rava Restaurant and its terrace open on to
the lagoon, catering for international fine cuisine. If
you stay in one of the over water bungalows, you
can, for a small supplement, have your breakfast
delivered by canoe. Enjoy your favourite cocktail at
the Miki Miki bar, nestled between the beach and
the spectacular freshwater pool that fronts right onto
the lagoon.
When you have enjoyed the free scubadive to
discover the underwater world which is arranged
with the Manihi Blue Nui diving club situated at
the hotel. You can take a canoe excursion, or a picnic
to a remote moto or experienced a memorable
fishing trip. Then relax with your favourite beverage
on the beautiful beaches or on your private veranda.
The resort will ensure that your South Pacific dream
becomes a reality and we believe will exceed your
expectation. A stay at the Pearl Beach Resort is an
experience never to be forgotten.

Te Tiare Beach bar
Te Tiare Beach Resort
The Te Tiare Beach resort is one of French Polynesia's newest hotels,
having opened in February ‘99’. The hotel is the dream child of an
American dentist and his wife, who spent three years in planning and
overseeing the building of the resort. Their passion for the project has
ensured that the resort has been built to the highest standard and
attention to detail.
The resort is set in lush tropical gardens edged by a palm fringed white sand beach
on the shore of its own private lagoon. Located on the western side of the island
of Huahine it can only be accessed by boat from the island’s main town of Fare.
Fare is reached after a 35-minute flight from Tahiti. On arrival you will be met by
a representative of the hotel who will transfer you to the dock to catch the resorts
private motor launch for the 15-minute water ride to the resort. The ride is a great
introduction to Huahine as you pass by some truly magnificent scenery.
The hotel offers 41 spacious bungalows, divided between 16 Overwater
bungalows, 6 Beach bungalows and 19 Garden bungalows. All the bungalows have
the same basic design and the owners claim that they have the largest floor area of
any rooms in French Polynesia, a claim that we would agree with. Every bungalow
is equipped with air conditioning, mini bar, colour television, refrigerator, and
luxuriously appointed bedrooms with hairdryer. Each bungalow has a very large
terrace, which is built on the front of the bungalow, and to one side. It is covered
by a pandanus roof offering shade from the hot tropical sun. The overwater
bungalow bathrooms have a special feature of a separate shower and Jacuzzi-tub
not found in the other accommodation grades.
A unique feature of the hotel is their reception area which has been built out into
the lagoon to facilitate the fact that all the guests arrive and depart by boat. The
area is shared with the resort restaurant, bar, lounge and the resort boutique.
For those looking for more activity than just lying on the beach or sitting around
the pool, you can choose to either take the island circle tour by canoe, horseback
riding, scuba diving, deepsea fishing, snorkelling, sailboat excursions and much
more. Some of the Society Islands oldest history and culture are to be found on
Huahine so a visit to the village of Maeva, the ancient capital of the island is a
must. Built on the shores of Lake Fauna Nui, Maeva was the island’s seat of royal
power and it is a rich and exciting archaeological site. Many ancient stone temples
or "mauae" have been restored. The remains of prehistoric villages and stone fish
traps, which are still used today, lend clues to a civilisation that existed at least
1000 years ago.
If you are looking for your French Polynesian experience to give you both a sun
tan and an education then a stay at the Te Tiare is a must.

Raiatea Pearl Resort
Te Tiare Beach Resort
The Raiatea Pearl resort is located on the edge
of the Tepua Bay lagoon, just a short 10 minute
drive from the airport. The hotel offers 32
accommodation units, with 12 Garden rooms,
8 Garden bungalows, 3 Lagoon bungalows and
9 Overwater bungalows, which combine
traditional style with modern comforts.
Each room is equipped with a minibar,
television/video, stereo and telephone. The
bathrooms are well appointed with showers and
hairdryers. All the rooms are ventilated by ceiling
fans. The hotel has a fresh water swimming pool
and a restaurant and bar that provides both indoor
and alfresco dining. As lovely as Raiatea and the
hotel are, we would not recommend them if you are
looking for a “Beach Experience” holiday, as Raiatea
has not been developed for tourism to the same
degree as its neighbouring islands.
A visit to Raiatea is for those clients who wish to
explore its Flora and Forna and climb to the top of
Mount Temehani and savour the breathtaking views
of the island and the surrounding lagoon. You can
also hunt for the unique Tiare apethi flower which
is only found on the mountains uppermost pastures.
Then to explore Raiatea's deep valleys and visit its
isolated villages, which will complete a picture of a
South Pacific island at it's most primitive and
beautiful.
So a visit to Raiatea will be a visit back in time.

Kia Ora Resort
Dining Al Fresco on The Sauvage
The Kia Ora resort offers you the Kia Ora Village and the Kia Ora Sauvage to choose from.
Rangiroa
angiroa is one of the 78 low islands
R
or coral atolls that makeup the Tuamotu
Archipelogo which is scattered over several
hundred miles of the eastern Pacific Ocean
governed by French Polynesia.
Life on these remote atolls is simple quiet and peaceful. In the small villages
you can discover the true flavour of the Tuamotu, often participating in the
daily activities of the “Paumotu” people. The interior lagoons are a haven
for black pearl farms, fish parks, snorkling and scuba diving. Outrigger
speed canoes or motor boats are used to reach the secteur, distant “motu”
islets across the lagoon, where the day is spent chopping copra and
searching for colourful seashells.
Only 4 of the 78 atolls offer modern hotels. Manihi and Rangioroa with the
Kia Ora Village and the Kia Ora Sauvage. All the other atolls have small
hotels or pensions, houses or rooms in the family homes, where guests can
find simple accommodations. Water and electricity may be limited to certain
hours in some of them.
Kia Ora Village
Kia Ora Village
Kia Ora Sauvage
The Kia Ora Village is located on the northern
side of the atoll and built along a beautiful
white sand beach facing onto the Lagoon. It is
the larger of the two properties offering 49
accommodations from which to select, with 30
Beach bungalows, 5 Beach bungalows suites
and 10 new Overwater Bungalows.
The Kia Ora Sauvage is the second accommodation choice, which is located on the southern
side of the island and is reached from the Kia
Ora Village by a 45 minute private boat ride
across the Lagoon. The Sauvage is located on a
small white sand private island surrounded by
water. To the North by the waters of the
lagoon and to the South by the open waters of
the Pacific Ocean. The island is adjacent to
totally deserted islands with easy access,
offering the guest a truly Robinson Crusoe
experience.
During 1999 the property was extensively renovated
with the building of a brand new reception area and
the remodelling of the restaurant plus all the beach
bungalows were refurbished and remodelled to
include air conditioning.
Rangiroa with its 42 mile long and 16 mile wide turquoise lagoon, is the
largest atoll in the Tuamotuis and has just over 2000 inhabitants. Only an
hour’s flight from Tahiti, Rangiroa offers sunshine, white coral beaches and
an immense playground for water sports and activities. Lagoon excursions
include snorkeling through the pass, along with hundreds of fish and
sharks, line or drags fishing in the lagoon, motor boat outings to visit Tiputa
village, various “motu” islets, and especially to the bird sanctuary on Motu
Paio and to the “Blue Lagoon” of Taeos. Rangiroa’s lagoon is also world
famous for unsurpassed scuba diving.
All the rooms offer private facilities, telephone,
tea/coffee making facilities and a refrigerator.
Complementary snorkelling equipment is available.
Scuba diving is available at a local charge. For the
diving enthusiast it is worth noting that some of the
best scuba diving in French Polynesia is to be found
in the waters close to the hotel.
A stay at the Sauvage is an experience available only
for a very privileged few as there are only 5 guest
beach bungalows, which are entirely built of locally
sourced natural materials. The accommodation offers
full on suite facilities, but there are no telephones,
televisions or mains electricity. Power is provided by
the island's generator, oil lamps and candles. So if
you are looking for that very special location where
you can truly get away from it all then the Sauvage
should be top of your list.
If you are looking for a holiday with a difference
why not split your stay and experience both Kia Ora
Village and the Sauvage.

Vahine Island
One of the biggest problems we encounter
when writing the copy for the brochure is not
to use to many superlatives as there can only be
one “ultimate paradise island” and only one
“the only place for you”. So we apologise if
we are about to repeat ourselves with our
description of the Vahine island resort, but we
feel that Vahine is very very special among a
number of very special hotels to be found in
French Polynesia.
Vahine island is located off the north eastern tip of
the island of Tahaa and is reached through the
airport on the neighbouring island of Raiatea, and a
30 minute boat ride across the channel between
Raiatea and Tahaa and across Tahaa’s lagoon.
The resort is built on its own private 10 acre island
covered with coconut palms and a profusion of
hibiscus and bougainvillaea flowers. There are only
9 accommodation bungalows, comprising of 6
Seafront and 3 Overwater. The seafront bungalows
are situated on the waters edge set on a lush lawn
and nestled among the coconut palms. They offer a
double bed, private bathroom, ceiling fan, telephone,
mini bar and a covered patio with a hammock and
adjoining sliding walls that provide an open corner
to the room with clear views from your bed to the
sea and the surrounding islands – a great place for
breakfast!
The over water bungalows offer the same facilities as
provided in the sea front bungalows, but they also
have a living room area with a removable glass
topped table allowing access to the water for feeding
the fish.
All the resort buildings have been constructed in
local materials of wood and bamboo to achieve
complete integration and harmony with the islands
natural environment.
Dining at Vahine is a real gastronomic experience
and is guaranteed not to disappoint the most
discerning palate. With a mix of local seafood and
exotic flavour with a French touch, barbecued
lobster, grilled fresh fish and much, much more.
When just relaxing and doing nothing ceases to
hold your interest, you can participate in a number
of water sport activities or you can visit the
neighbouring islands.
We believe that the Vahine Island resort offers a
very special vacationing experience, and because it
has such limited accommodation Vahine will only
ever be for a very few privileged travellers, we think
you really should consider being among them.
