From the Senior Associate Pastor:
What Now?
FBC is once again without a Senior Pastor. What do
we, as a church, do now? That’s simple. We continue
to do what God has called us to do. We continue to
pray, serve, study, give and worship as God has taught
us. And we continue to “go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to
obey everything I have commanded you. And surely
I am with you always to the very end of the age.”
(Matthew 28: 19-20) If we continue to do these things,
God will surely continue to bless FBC.
Day-to-day operations at FBC will remain the same.
Sundays will remain the same with the opportunity
to hear some very gifted speakers, from across the
country, who will fill our pulpit. Below is a list of those
speakers beginning this coming Sunday.
What Now? continued...
Jim Denison, Nov. 30/Dec. 7, 14, 21, President,
Denison Forum & Former Pastor, FBC
Joel Gregory, Dec. 28, Professor of Preaching,
Truett Seminary
Let’s continue to work together as we continue to
serve God here at FBC. I’ll look forward to seeing you
on Sunday…the absolute greatest day of the week!!!
JOY!!

New Associate Minister of Music
We are so happy to welcome
Phyllis Hilburn to our Music and
Worship Ministry Team as our new
Part-Time Associate Minister of
Music. Phyllis has served in many
volunteer capacities through the
years, but is now serving with us in
the ministry position that Rebecca
Griffith previously held before
leaving to be a full time mom over a year ago. We
have been waiting for the person God would send to
assist us in this important ministry.
Phyllis brings gifts and talents in both areas of music
and ministry. In addition to assisting with choir, vocals
and handbells, she will provide support in the weekly
preparation of the many details that are required with
our four different Worship Services each Sunday, plus
funerals, weddings, and special events as needed in
the church and community throughout the week.
Please take time to welcome her to this new opportunity
of service and ministry.

Letters that Lift
Dear Dr. Everett,
The Macedonia Baptist Church family
shall never forget the acts of kindness, compassion
and sympathy bestowed on us during and after the
funeral services for our Pastor Emeritus, Rev. O. J.
Archie, held at First Baptist Church May 29, 2014.
We thank you and the First Baptist Church family with
all our hearts for the great courtesy and generous
hospitality shown to us. You opened your doors
to us and extended a warm welcome to members
of the Archie family, as well as to Midland & other
communities in the state of Texas, as they came to
pay their respects to a man of God who had served
over 39 years as a Pastor, friend and community
leader. May our blessings to you and the First Baptist
Church family be found in Numbers 6:24-26 (NASB):
"The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make
His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; The
Lord lift up His countenance on you, And give you
peace." In Christ,
Rev. Woodrow Bailey, III, Pastor Macedonia Baptist
Church, Midland, TX
