The tickets are still budget priced and the theatre still
features popcorn with real butter.
It’s a great place to experiecne the movies on the big

Welcome to Another Independent International Film
Festival!
Whether you visited us last year or this is your first
time joining us, we want to thank you for your support.
Our team is thrilled to be bringing a new slate of films
from around the world to the screen in downtown Eau
Claire, WI. This community is known for appreciating
the arts from musicians to sculptors, and film is no
exception!
This year you are sure to find something endearing,
quirky, or thought-provoking. Our film team spent
hundreds of hours reviewing submissions and curating a
selection that we feel best represents the unique stories
filmmakers can tell without the backing of a major
studio.
Unlike some other festivals, we don’t limit filmmakers to
only submitting the newest films.
Here at Another Independent International Film Festival,
we know that there are countless films made in years
past that deserve another chance at finding an
audience.
We’re proud to announce that our festival has expanded to multiple venues this summer! In addition
to Thursday, Friday, and Saturday screen time at Micon Cinema Downtown, attendees will have the
opportunity to watch films in the studio at Chippewa Valley Community Television on Saturday.
This is an excellent chance to check out the Chippewa Valley’s only independent, non-profit television
station and video production facility. All profits from this year’s festival go directly towards helping
their mission of community outreach and civic engagement.

Switzerland | 2015 | Comedy
Unhappy in love, Mary Lou decides to reconnect with her
religious roots by marrying a practicing Jew. In order to
get married, she has to pass the Shidduch test, which will
determine whether her life will be a success or failure.

Tess runs into a building to find her boyfriend Tony grappling with another man for a gun. Will Tess’ “double vision”
be the end of Tony or will he save the day by proving his

In a time dominated by artificial intelligence, the extravagant musical short film tells the story of a lonely baroque robot in a battle
between good and evil, recalling the magic of the early cinema.
A Splendid Affair

Roger Martin is a private investigator completely broke. A woman
asks him to investigate her husband she suspects to have an
affair.

Alma (Soul) - Argentina
Argentina, Chile | 2015 | Comedy
Alma is a funny bipolar woman that kicks her husband out of the
house because he is tired of her illness. He will do everything it
takes to get her back.

Balloon Ride
Australia | 2015 | Drama, Stop-motion
The story follows a young boy who is part of a dysfunctional family. He and his mother are victims of domestic violence inflicted
by the father. The boy dreams of escaping with his mother, only
to wake up to a tragic reality.

The Bandit Cucaracha
Spain | 2015 | Puppets, Action, Adventure
The film tells the story of Mariano Gavín, alias Cucaracha, the
greatest Aragonese bandit of all times.

The Bathtub
Austria | 2015 | Comedy
One Bathtub - Three Brothers - Many Splashes! Three brothers
try to dive back into their childhood through an old family picture
in the bathtub.

The Beach Boy

A story of two star-crossed lovers in ancient Vietnam. Based on a
traditional folk tale and adapted for animation in a style inspired
by local Asian art styles.

Being Different If You’re a Weddell Seal In Antarctica
United States | 2013 | Documentary
Being different can mean the difference between life and death
if you’re the southernmost mammal on the planet, living in the
most pristine waters remaining on Earth. Researchers are trying
to learn what differences among animals mean to the future of
these magnificent diving marine predators.
Between the LInes
Germany | 2015 | Tragicomedy
Harald Mayr is a devoted postman in a small village called
Gaiswinkel. He is not only delivering letters, but also checking
them. If their content doesn’t meet his moral standard, he
amends them to fit this.

Germany | 2015 | Drama
Don’t fill life with days, fill days with life . After her husband’s
death, Käthe doesn’t want to impose on anybody. She already
ordered old people’s home brochures. But an accidential meeting
with the love of her youth Hannes arises old contending feelings.

At a remote mountain lake a bound man with cement shoes is
being dragged to the
water. His request for a coup de grâce escalates into an absurd
clash.
The Courtship
Sweden | 2016 | Comedy, Drama
Fredrik is in love with his neighbor Rebecka. He makes a movie
introducing himself and sends it to her. But the movie has the
opposite effect of what Fredrik intended. Now he has to fix the
damage he made.

Germany | 2013 | Adventure, Drama, Fantasy
A cautionary tale about greed-adapted from a classic German
fairy tale: The Black Forest in the 19th century: the films tells the
story of a young man who trades his warm heart for a cold stone
in order to become rich.
Runtime: 29 minutes
Deadlock
Austria | 2015 | Comedy, Drama
The elderly couple Berger is on the way to their holiday. Due to
some tensions, their trip ends abruptly in a little village somewhere in Austria. They reached the dead end of their relationship. Two days they spend in their car. What happens to a
marriage if no one retreats?

Dirty Beautiful
United States | 2015 | Comedy, Drama, Romance
David is a young, struggling writer very alone in the world. Kat is
a lost soul recently left homeless by her ex. Both survive on the
fringe of life.

Exit Right
Austria | 2015 | Drama, Civil Courage
Look away or intervene? When a black man is victim of unfounded, racial abuse in a packed bus, there is only one passenger who
won’t ignore the situation like everyone else.

Graveyard of the Great Lakes: A Shipwreck Hunter’s Quest to
Discover the Past
United States | 2015 | Documentary, Exploration
Great Lakes historians say up to 10,000 shipwrecks are at the
bottom and they are full of history.
74-year-old shipwreck hunter David Trotter has spent half his life
hunting for them, exploring and telling their stories.
This documentary is about of three of the many shipwrecks he
has found on Lake Huron. You’ll learn about the life and death
struggle aboard for the sailors, the heroic connection to the past
and the story of a lone survivor.

Lars Hyde is depressed. He’s lost his best friend, he’s being
bullied at school, his parents are divorcing… He is ready to give
up. It takes a group of misfits to show him what real friendship
is. Follow Lars as he tries to find his place in this dark, funny and
ultimately uplifting teen coming of age tale.

Letter to God
Azerbaijan | 2015 | Comedy
Letter to God is a film about the power of faith - irrespective of
belief or religion. A lonely widower discovers that he is dying and
after a series of mysterious encounters decides to do the only
thing he can think of: write a letter to God.
Like Totally Hot Couple Seeking Same
Isabelle and Jean Luc are a normal, uptight Parisian couple in
search of a way to spice up their marriage. So they travel to the
one place in the world known for it’s bebachary… Williamsburg,
Brooklyn. But after a week of sad orgies and other uneventful
sexual mishaps, Isabelle makes one last stand when she answers
an ad on Craigslist. But what they find when they arrive is far less
sexy and far more confronting of what really is wrong with their
marriage.

A car drives through the snow. Behind the wheel is Nelly. She is
thirteen years old. Nelly wants to go home. Separating her from
her goal are three questions, two keys, a diving tower and a
racing heart.
Paleontology
Tired of boring students-sex, rafi and alex decide to explore a
new science:
Paleontology. Which means, from now on, she“ must be at least
10 years older.
Pitter Patter Goes My Heart
Germany | 2015 | Comedy, Drama
The hopelessly romantic Lisa takes desperate measures to win
her former lover back. But the fact that he already has a new girl
at his side and that Lisa needs to bring her alcoholic father to an
anti-varicose-campaign photo shooting without letting him know,
is not particularly helping. The tragedy takes its course.

The poor yet smart trickster Si Lunchai triumphs over the cruel
king. An adaptation of a popular Indonesian legend in the style of
the Southeast Asian shadow puppet play “Wayang Kulit”.

want to talk to you about being a film screener for
Another Independent International Film Festival 2017.
AIIFF is seeking people interested in watching films as
they come in throughout the submission process for the
2017 festival.
You get two (2) free pass to the Full festival, and many
new films to watch, score, and discuss with other
members of the submission team.

What if a Supermoon happened on the same night as the Winter
Solstice? Three lonely custodians experience the romantic effects
of this magical lunar event with humorous…but sweet…consequences in this short romantic comedy.
Think Twice
Tess runs into a building to find her boyfriend Tony grappling with

Tilda
Germany | 2015 | Comedy
Tilda is shy and lives surrounded by her dolls. The only contact to
the outside World is Pastor Krause. She starches and irons is ruff
but would never dream of looking him in the eye. One day during
communion, when the pastor spills wine on his freshly stached
collar everything changes.

Totally different people are meeting each other in six scenes.
All of them have one thing in common: They all think that they
already know everything there is to know about each other without having ever spoken a word with one another. They judge
each other by stereotypes and the external appearances.
