HASTA LAVESTA CLASS XII
As the class XII students march ahead to search
new avenues and to achieve newer heights, they
were bid a grand adieu by their alma mater on January 26, 2014. The whole atmosphere was filled with
an air of nostalgia when the Twelfthees made a royal
entry into the school auditorium, attired in their glittering best. They were welcomed with a Tilak Ceremony and a mesmerizing instrumental music played
by the students of class XI, reminding everyone of
the
tradition and culture of India. Our age-old culture is incomplete without songs and dances. The

gala event commenced with an enthralling dance
Competitions
performance by Surbhita and Rishika, depicting the fun and frolic of the school life. It was
followed by a series of songs and dance performances in various styles like Bollywood,
Festivals
Locking and Popping, Contemporary etc., Which made each and everyone present there, tap
his feet to the rhythm and beats of the music. The highlights of the event were the song
Celebrations
Aahetein and the dance performance Yaariyan, expressing the feelings of class XI students
how much they’ll miss their seniors. The song Ye Dosti Hum Nahi Chhodenge’ even made the Class XII students rise
to the stage and join them. Bollywood star Govinda’s Thumke in Michael Jackson’s style were amazingly presented by
Neeraj and group. The whole auditorium echoed with the sound of huge applause and ‘Once More’, ‘Encore’. Continuing with the same theme of true and
everlasting friendship, few Jai-Veeru Jodis were also announced. The event
was made more enjoyable by many comic shayaris and funny titles like Adolf Hitler, Sister of Silence etc. dedicated to
the seniors, which created a loud laughter in the whole auditorium. In the end was a heart rending poem recited by
Neha and Sophia, describing what they will miss in their life after leaving the school, which brought everyone to tears
as they were transported to their past school days. A quiz ‘Identify the Teacher’ was also presented, mentioning their
nicknames like a Bindaas Teacher, Dabbang, Conceptual, Foodie, Hero, Heroine etc. The students could easily identify
their teachers by these nicknames. The entire extravaganza was no less than a grand Indian wedding, full of decorous
ambience, enthusiastic musical renditions and dances performances, mouth-watering feast and memories drenching
everyone's heart. It showcased the immense love of class XI students for their seniors.
The winners of class XII Inter-house competitions of various categories like Scholastic, Literary, Cultural and Sports
and Games were also awarded with medals and certificates.
Then came the most awaited moment, when Yuvraj Singh Rathore was declared as Mr. Humanities, Priyal Gehlot as
Ms. Humanities, Romit Abhichandani as Mr. Commerce, Shreya Jain as Ms. Commerce, Rishabh Chawla as Mr. Science, Shreya Singhvi as Ms. Science, the Head Boy Keshav Lohiya as Mr. DPS and the Head Girl Pranjali Jain as Ms.
DPS. Dhawal Surana was awarded with the Best Sportsperson of the Year, Shivangi Lohiya as the Disciplined Student
and Kumar Ayush as the All-rounder Student of the Year. Kumar Ayush was also honoured with the running trophy
which was presented to the school by the class XII 2012-13 batch. All the awardees were presented the sashes, bouquets and crowns/ saafas. All the class XII students were gifted with a card made by the class XI students themselves
and a mug carrying the photograph of the school building and the students.
The Head girl Pranjali Jain, in her farewell speech, expressed her gratitude to all her teachers for being with her all
through. She also sang a song which made everyone very emotional. The class XII students expressed their feelings
for their alma mater by gifting a coffee machine and a laser printer. They displayed their humanity and the values that
they have learnt during their school days by donating an amount of Rs. 5000.00 to the orphanage Luv-Kush. The event
culminated with the cutting of the cake by the Principal Mr. B.S.Yadav, HM Ms. Sangeeta Yadav, the Head Boy and the
Head Girl.
In the end, the Principal complimented the class XI students and the teachers concerned for the efforts they had put in
to present the exceedingly good programme. Appreciating the hard work and sincerity of the prefectorial council of the
session 2013-14 and guiding the students to be careful and vigilant enough in the outside world full of vices and negativities, he wished everyone a very bright future. The students left the school premises with tears of separation in their
eyes but a burning desire and a firm promise in their mind to excel in whichever arena they enter into.

Prize Distribution Ceremony (2013-14)
“Winning isn't everything--but wanting to win is.” It was a moment of pride for the winners in Delhi
Public School, Pal Road, Jodhpur to be a part of
the Prize distribution Ceremony and receive certificates as well as medals for their yearly performance in participation in the Inter House Activities
for the session 2013-2014.
The day witnessed the cultural, literary and sports
achievements of the talented and brilliant students
for their active participation throughout the year
being the member of one of the six houses namely
Chenab, Ganges, Jamuna, Jhelum, Ravi, Sutlej.
The ceremony started with a welcome of the Chief
Guest I.G. BSF Mr. P.C.Meena. The Chief Guest
and Principal B.S.Yadav were extended a floral welcome. The Blessings of Lord Ganesha were sought
through a devotional dance performance. Two students then shared their views on the importance of Cocurricular activities in the holistic development of a student. These activities nurture self discipline, healthy
sense of competition and enable a student to contribute for nations progress and prosperity.
The rhythmic, colourful and mesmerizing dance performance on the life of a butterfly captured everyone’s
attention and left them spell bound. The Rajasthani folk dance added beauty to the ceremony when students dressed in vibrant attires with silver accessories danced with the enthusiastic zeal to the folk song of
‘Kalbelia’ amalgamated with their expressions. They received a thunderous applause from the august gathering.
The Prize Ceremony was held to appreciate the efforts in the various fields like: pot decoration, theme
based drawing and painting, chalk crafting, flower making and arrangement, pencil sketching and shading,
poster making competition, rangoli, best out of waste, solo song and dance, English and Hindi poem recitation, debate, tennis singles and doubles, Chess, Carrom, Quiz etc. The Positions of the five Houses were
also announced. Jamuna House bagged the first position leaving the Jhelum House at second, Ganges at
Third, Chenab at fourth, Sutlej at fifth and Ravi at the sixth position. The program culminated with the speech
by the Chief Guest, who expressed his nostalgia and extended his gratitude to Mr. B. S. Yadav for guiding
him so well in his school days as a teacher and cultivating the essence of hard work that has made him, what
he is today. He also congratulated the winners of the day and wished them with the best wishes to become
the winners in their future and held in the development of a strong nation.
The ceremony came to its closing with the motivating words by the Principal Mr. B. S. Yadav .He extended
his wishes to the young achievers, who were around 180 in number and appreciated the efforts of the teachers to have made it possible that a large number had received so many prizes in the co curricular activities.
Emphasizing on the single key of diligence, he wished the students all the luck for their future endeavours.
Sports fever in the Air
Just like all the co- curricular activities held all through the year culminate into the Annual Day, all the
sports and games held throughout the year crystallize into the Sports Day .The Annual Sports Meet was
held in the sylvan grounds of DPS, Pal Road, Jodhpur from 4th – 7th Feb. 2014. Mr.RajeevKhanna, the
head of operations and public affairs for Rajasthan Royals (a franchisee of Indian Premier League) was
the Chief Guest of the day.
The days’ proceedings started with a floral welcome to the Chief Guest. The school flag was then hoisted
which was followed by the National Anthem. As the inaugural day coincided with “Basant Panchami”, a
diya was lit in front of goddess Saraswati by the Chief Guest and the Principal as a token of reverence to
the deity. Some students presented the“Saraswati Vandana” , to seek the blessings of the goddess. To
motivate the participants and to enthuse them with vigour and energy, a song , “Khel khelein hum “ and a
dance on the song “ Chal Zor lagake haiyya “ were also presented by students of class III. The “Scarf
Drill” left the audience marveling at the co-ordination and synchronization displayed by the students. The
Chief Guest, then, addressed the gathering , appreciating the school and staff for encouraging sports in
the school. He appealed to the students to actively participate in sports and games as they lead to the all
- round development of the child. The pinnacle of excitement was reached when the Chief Guest
declared the meet open.
Thereafter, a series of sports events followed for the students of classes Nursery to VIII. There were
different races like “Wear & Go Race, Straight Race and the Zig Zac race.” The students enjoyed participating in many exciting events like Relay Race, Hop and Jump, Three Legged Race, 50 meter race, 100
meter race etc. The grounds reverberated with feverish enthusiasm as the tempo set in with the teachers
and the students animatedly cheering the participants, voicing the spirit of oneness among all. The students’ enthusiastically cheered the probable winner in any event and burst into an unending excitement
once they saw their friends reaching the ribbon and the white line. After completion of the athletic events,
the proud winners were honoured with medals. The little sports stars with shining bright faces flaunted
their medals and gained appreciation and thunderous applause from one and all. The faces of winners
beamed with pride as they stood on the victory stand and received medals from the Chief Guest. This
mega event came to an end successfully with the vote of thanks, leaving thrilling memories in the hearts
of each and everyone present there.
Basant Panchmi Celebration
Basant Panchami, the onset of the spring season was celebrated with great fervor on 4 February 2014 in
the middle block. The students of classes four and five presented a special assembly on this day to
venerate Goddess Saraswati. The assembly began with a sacred mass enchantment of shlokas with
Saraswati puja. After the prayer, a mesmerizing dance performance devoted to the Goddess of
knowledge and wisdom was presented by the children. The melodious vandana presented by the choir
group evoked the feeling of devotion and spirituality among the audience. The senior mistress praised
the efforts of the children and extended her blessings on this pious occasion. The assembly culminated
with a mass enchantment of the prayer ‘Astoma sadgamaya, tamsoma jyotirgamaya..’ and prasada was
distributed to everybody at the end.

National Science Day Celebration
To commemorate the invention of the Raman Effect by the Indian physicist, Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata
Raman, the National Science Day was celebrated with great endeavour and enthusiasm on 28 February
2014 in the middle wing of Delhi Public School, Jodhpur. A special assembly was conducted on this
occasion highlighting the importance and role of science in everyday life. It began with an inspiring thought
followed by a motivational poem ‘Don’t Quit.’ The students were made aware of the latest scientific
developments in the present era through an informative article. The assembly culminated with a foot tapping
song and a small skit highlighting the contributions of the great Indian scientists on global scenario. The
Head Mistress appreciated the efforts of the students for presenting the assembly and encouraged the
budding minds to make the optimum use of their senses to explore the surroundings and to come up with
innovative ideas and inventions in future.
Accolades for the Winners
Delhi Public School has always been a hub of activities for The much awaited prize distribution ceremony of the
middle wing for the session 2013-14 was held in the school auditorium on Tuesday, 19 February 2014. The year
long hard work and endeavour of the students in various inter-house competitions was rewarded by honouring
them with the medals.
The event began with a special assembly including a poem and an
article on the importance of winning and participating in
co-curricular and extra curricular activities. A devotional dance
performance staged by the students made the atmosphere blissful.
This was followed by the most awaited ceremony wherein Principal
B.S. Yadav, Headmistresses Sangeeta Ma’am and Anvita Ma’am
gave the medals to the winners. First in line were the medals for
the Literary Activities-English Recitation, Maths Sudoku, Hindi
Recitation, English Debate, English Just a Minute, Hindi Just a
Minute, and Inter-House Sanskrit Shlok Pratiyogita. Followed by
the Cultural Activities- Solo Song Competition, Solo Dance (Boys
and Girls), Inter-House Techno Art, Theme Based Drawing, Poster
Making and Cartoon Making. Lastly the Sports CompetitionsCarrom Singles (Girls and Boys), Inter-House Carrom Doubles (Girls and Boys), Chess, Table Tennis Boys
(Singles and Doubles). The winners received the prizes with a lot of enthusiasm and exaltation.
The programme culminated with the words of inspiration of the Principal Mr. B.S. Yadav. He appreciated the
sincere and diligent efforts of the participants and extended his warm wishes to all the medal winners. He
encouraged the others, participants as well as non-participants, to strive hard and persevere with dedicated
efforts to bag the medals in the next session. He wished good luck to all in anticipation of seeing more winners
and zealous participants in the next session. A Winner All the Way
Maanya Agarwal of Class 6, Delhi Public School, Jodhpur has been selected as Golden
Talent Award Winner in All India Talent Search Examination-2013. It is a proud privilege
to announce that she is one amongst the top eight Golden Talent Award winners and the
only child from Rajasthan region to win this prestigious award. She was conferred with a
laptop, memento and certificate for her commendable performance.
Solo Song Competition
The Inter Class Solo Song competition was held on 25-2-2014. The students gave melodious performances
which were worth appreciating. The competition was judged by Ms. Sabuj Bala. The young and tender
voices left the audience spellbound with some of the performances. The audience listened to the performances carefully and applauded to encourage each participant. All the participants were greatly praised for
their wonderful presentations by the judge and all the teachers.
Science Exhibition
A grand Science Exhibition and Magic Show was organized
at DPS Jodhpur-in the Middle Block during the first week of
March.
The students of class IV and V showed exemplary enthusiasm and voluntary participation thus proving that they are
the budding scientists of tomorrow. The parents not only
helped in this endeavour of igniting a scientific attitude in
children but also showed their keen interest and support by
their benign presence at the exhibition.
Some of the projects exhibited were ‘The Horror house,
Magnetic levitating pencil, Rocket launcher, Pot refrigerator, Food preservation techniques, Food adulteration tests etc.’
It was a great effort to bring the children out of the
classrooms and giving them an opportunity to showcase their talent and creativity.
The Principal, Mr. B.S Yadav, appreciated and motivated the children to keep up the good work of brainstorming and exploring their surroundings thus keeping alive the scientific temper.

Importance of Vegetables
Class I B students conducted the assembly, based on importance of
vegetables. Students presented a story on Who will be the king of
vegetables? Mango, the king of fruits was being called to elect the king of
vegetables. Then he took introduction of each and every vegetable. Nine
vegetables, Carrot, potato, tomato, cauliflower, onion, ladyfinger, chilly,
capsicum and brinjal gave their
introduction and told king to elect them as
king of the vegetables. After listening to
each and everybody's qualities, king got
confused and refused to elect one as a
king. He came to the conclusion that every vegetable is important for our
body. So, we should eat every vegetable. They all became happy. Children
sang a rhyme based on vegetables. Mrs. Rimple showered her blessings on
children and appreciated their efforts.
Our Celestial Neighbours
An assembly was conducted by the budding flowers of class
II D on 12-2-14.The topic of the assembly was "Our Celestial
Neighbours" which is related to their syllabus.
The assembly was initiated with the news and a thought .The
little champs played the role of celestial bodies like Sun,
Moon and the Stars with confidence. The assembly ended
with a beautiful song which was enjoyed by one and all
present.
Performance of the children was well appreciated.
Special Assembly by class II
19 Feb 2014 Wednesday an assembly was conducted by class II- E. The students were bubbling over to give their
best in front of their classmates and all the students of class II. The assembly began with an inspiring thought
through which the message was given of starting the day with radiant smile like the sunny
rays of the sun that has the magical power of extreme happiness and has the power of
making the day of others joyful . Then the news was read out to throw the light upon the
current happening and prevailing issues around the world. The next link of the assembly
was a funny quiz which was conducted by the talented tiny dramatists. It was based upon
the various facial expressions. Every participant came up with a unique facial expression
like anger, sadness, surprise, happiness, grinning and laughter etc. The students sitting as
spectators had been identifying and naming the particular expression precisely. The
assembly ended up with a musical symphony in which a great melody “kabhi khushi kabhi
gum, tara rum pum pum, aji aise geet gaya karo” was played on the casio. Thus the
assembly which was comprising all the flavours was presented and highly praised by the
the Headmistress.
‘Basant Panchami’ Celebration
14th February 2014 was a memorable day for the students of
Nursery C as they performed in the morning assembly.The
weather was complementing the theme-BASANT. The audience
was completely engrossed in the performance as they learnt and
enjoyed about the various seasons,their significance, importance
and lot more through rhymes,dance performance and enactment . In a nut shell it was a good show and great learning about
Basant.
Assembly on ‘Time’
The students of class 1 D performed assembly on Time on 20 Feb. The assembly started with an English
prayer and then it was followed by a Hindi prayer. After this, the small kids presented thoughts in Hindi and
English about importance of time and then presented news in both, Hindi and English. Then a poem was
recited on days of the week & some words were spoken by children about the time. The assembly concluded
with a quick revision & blessings given by Ms. Aasima Vyas and Ms. Renu Nair.
The Giant and his Garden
When children are free and jovial, happiness thus follows all around. A special assembly on 7 thMarch 2014
was presented by the students of class Nursery D in the primary block of D.P.S They enacted on the story,
‘The giant and his garden’. The amphitheater’s stage was brightened with life when all the students came
disguised as trees, the giant, fairy and other various characters. It was a finely orchestrated play adorned with
enthusiastic performances. Thus, leaving the audience mesmerized.
