About the Host
A7er playing six seasons in the NFL, Ray McElroy (Ray Mac) founded A Ray of Hope on Earth with the goal of transforming individuals by sharing the truth that every life is special and significant. Proceeds from Ray Mac’s Celebrity Golf InvitaLonal will benefit A Ray of Hope on Earth and help keep it’s services FREE to all parLcipants. Services include: The Ray McElroy Pro Football Youth Camps A Ray of Hope hosts 3 football camps each year for at-­‐risk youth between the ages of 8-­‐18. Coaches, who are former and current professional athletes, teach basic football fundamentals while also emphasizing the importance of academics, discipline, and making good choices. Over the last six years our camps have served over 1,600 youth. We’ve seen approximately three-­‐fourths of our campers, and their families, commit to making beYer choices and re-­‐
focusing their lives. Annual Speaking Tour As a former NFL player, Ray McElroy understands the tremendous influence professional athletes have with young people. Ray leverages that influence to empower and inspire at-­‐risk youth during an annual speaking tour. He is a gi7ed moLvaLonal speaker who has had the opportunity to impact high-­‐capacity corporate audiences. Ray’s desire is to offer this same level of professional speaking to Chicago area schools who lack a budget to pay for a high quality moLvaLonal speaker. Chaplaincy and Life Coaching for professional athletes Ray was the Chicago Bears team chaplain from 2008-­‐2012 and conLnues to provide chapel services for visiLng NFL teams. Ray and his wife Michelle have also developed an innovaLve program for professional athletes and their spouses to help them idenLfy their purpose and calling outside of professional sports. It is a 10 month journey that will help the athlete and their spouse recognize that their current sport is only the beginning of their true life work. A Ray of Hope on Earth has been serving Chicagoland since 2008 and became an official 501(c)(3) in June of 2012.
