A must-have guide for anyone—
whether an overt perfectionist or
one in disguise—who is seeking
peace of mind.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well. Practice makes perfect. Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing. In today’s perfection-obsessed culture, these are the maxims we live by. Yet the damage that they cause is
stifling.
While perfectionism lacks much of the stigma attached to today’s most
common compulsions—smoking, gambling, sex addiction, alcoholism, and
drug abuse—many of the negative connotations on self and the family
system are the same.
In this revised and updated edition of her original, groundbreaking
book, author Ann W. Smith describes the key differences between overt
and covert perfectionism; the role early attachment, temperament, sibling
relationships, and life circumstances play in developing this pattern; and
how to shift toward a center of balance for a more fulfilling life.
Readers will learn how to identify and confront the root cause of their
problem, how to reveal and accept their essence, and finally, they will learn
the importance of forgiveness and letting go. Additionally, readers discover the key characteristics of a healthy family system, along with the single
most important lesson of all—perfection does not exist.
Ann W. Smith MS, LMFT, (Wernersville, PA), has spent nearly
thirty years researching the impact compulsive disorders have
on individuals and family systems. In her current role as the director of Breakthrough at Caron—a program she designed for Caron
Treatment Centers—Ann shows adults how to shift destructive
life patterns, improve relationships, and foster personal growth.
Ann is also the author of Grandchildren of Alcoholics: Another Generation of Co-dependency. To learn more visit annsmith.com or

Preliminary cover
Women of all ages want to make others happy—it’s just in a woman’s nature,
isn’t it? But what happens when that “need to please” goes wrong and a
woman keeps pushing herself harder while simultaneously ignoring her
own needs? What happens when a woman begins to think self-sabotaging
“girly thoughts”?
Noted psychologist Dr. Patricia O’Gorman answers these questions for
today’s generation of women, including women in transition, those who
have suffered trauma, and anyone who works with this population. Complex concepts are presented as doable steps: two assessment steps, then
seven easy action/daily steps readers can use to counter negative inner
thoughts and to understand and cultivate their resilience. In this groundbreaking book, Dr. O’Gorman reveals how “girly thoughts” are just conclusions women reach as a way of making sense of the trauma they’ve
experienced and the resulting codependency issues they grapple with,
then provides the tools they need to break the cycle and become more
resilient. They need to be reminded from time to time of the saying that
while legendary dancer Fred Astaire received top billing, “Ginger Rogers
did everything that Fred Astaire did. She just did it backwards and in high
heels.”

From the coauthor of From Belly Fat to
Belly Flat comes a wake-up call for women
over 35, with a practical game plan to radically change and reverse how they age.
As an expert on women’s health and the CEO of an internationally recognized anti-aging center of excellence, Genie James knows all too well that
many women are spending too much money, time, and worry battling
thickening waists, wrinkles, memory loss, and low libido. Besieged by a
mountain of anti-aging information, James found too much of it was marketing hype from companies touting the fountain of youth.
But James doesn’t just tell women how to slow the aging process; she
offers a revolutionary approach to change the aging process, securing
a healthier, happier, and more vibrant future. Medical miracles really do
have the potential to positively impacting long-term health, sexuality, and
longevity, but there are some things you can’t change, and some things
that are downright dangerous. James shares the good, the bad, and the
ugly.
With candor, case studies, and insights about her own struggles with
gravity and greying, James sifts through the science to help women devise a personalized plan to overhaul key areas of health, from hormones,
heart and breast health, to weight loss, memory, moods, and their sex lives.
Genie James, MMSc (Jacksonville, FL) is a speaker, businesswoman, and activist for women and girls. Genie co-authored From
Belly Fat to Belly Flat (currently in five languages), From Hormone
Hell to Hormone Well (winner of the 2010 National Consumer
Health Information Bronze Award) and In the Mood Again. Genie
has a Masters of Medical Science from Emory University. Visit Genie

The popular organizing expert on
A&E’s Hoarders and the Dr. Phil Show
shares solutions to tackle the physical and
emotional clutter that keeps millions of
people from losing weight.
While organizing the lives of her many clients, Emmy-nominated organizing expert Dorothy Breininger learned to face her own stuff, and lost
seventy-five pounds in the process. In this book she tackles weight loss
from the much-needed perspective of what lies underneath our clutter—
metaphorically, physically, and emotionally. With some of the most extreme cases from the Hoarders show she reveals what our clutter is trying
to tell us and how it relates to the number on our scale.
Whether you’re a packrat or a calorie-counter, a neat freak or a binge
eater, Breininger reveals why, to be successful on the scale, you must first
master the clutter within and around you. With the same no-holds barred
candor that resonates with TV viewers, she helps anyone face their stuff,
with an organized, approach to toss it, tame it, or tailor it to fit their lives.
Filled with personal stories from clients, and tips from fitness coaches and
organizing experts, this book gives everyone the tools to declutter their
way to their dream size.
Dorothy Breininger (Los Angeles, CA) is America’s Most Innovative Professional Organizer and is on a mission to reclaim more
space on the planet—first with our bodies and then with our stuff.
Dorothy is a member and lecturer for the National Association
of Professional Organizers and Institute for Chronic Disorganization. Dorothy coauthored five organizing books and produced an

Similar to A Child Called “It”,
this shocking memoir chronicles
one girl’s triumph over extreme
bullying and torture at the
hands of her sister.
When Nancy Kilgore was nine years old, her eleven-year-old sister Sherry
led her into the scorching midday sun, tied her to a chair, and taped her
eyelids to her eyebrows with electrical tape, leaving Nancy helpless for
hours to stare into a blinding blue sky. For years, Sherry physically tortured
her younger sister and threatened to kill her if the cruelty was revealed.
Girl in the Water details the most shuttering examples of sibling abuse,
the untold secret in millions of homes. According to a study by Gelles and
Cornell, each year 19 million children are bullied or abused by their siblings
and well over 80 million adults have suffered this type of abuse. With vivid
imagery and heartbreaking accounts, Kilgore leads readers into the prison
she was born into, where she is confronted with her childhood dreams,
family bonds, coming of age in the shadow of terror, and the complex
after-effects of abuse that followed her into adulthood.
Girl in the Water is the story of one woman, with a phoenix-like power,
who came up against all odds and won. She will resonate with readers
who were touched and awakened by the stories of Dave Pelzer in A Child
Called “It”, Frank McCort in Angela’s Ashes, and Jeanette Walls in The Glass
Castle.
Nancy Fox-Kilgore, MS, (Sacramento, CA) is a frequent speaker
and a university continuing education teacher, she specializes in
PTSD and various forms of family abuse. She is a faculty member
for the Global Alliance for Preventing Relational Aggression and consults for the U.S. Department of Justice’s, Office for Victims of Crime.
She wrote Every Eighteen Seconds and The Source Book for Working with Battered Women, both which serve as national models for
battered women’s shelters, agencies, and university studies, and for
continuing education certification for police officers, psychologists, and social workers.

From teaching us how to tie our shoes and guiding us through that first day of
school, to lending an empathetic ear and being our pillars of strength and support, our moms have been our chief counselors, cheerleaders, critics, chauffeurs, and chefs. For the Love of Mom pays homage to these special women,
the women who have rocked us, raised us, championed us, challenged us,
and—at times—exasperated us.
Whether a woman becomes a mom by chance or by choice, through giving birth, or through the blessings of adoption or stepparenting, she will be
moved, inspired, and entertained by these true stories that share both the
monumental milestones and everyday moments of motherhood. Some are
humorous, some heartfelt; others will help moms through the trying times, yet
all underscore the devotion and dedication we admire most about mothers.
While the experience of motherhood is different for every woman, one
thing is universal: it is almost impossible to fathom the myriad of joys and
triumphs encountered on the journey. For the Love of Mom celebrates moms
and the uniquely important roles they play in our lives.

this collection of short stories
is the perfect gift!
The role that educators play in our lives is immeasurable. It is from them that
we learn not only the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic, but also the
concepts of discipline, ethics, and play. They teach us about compassion,
sharing, and ambition, and what is takes to reach our goals offering guidance
along the way.
Filled with inspiring, true stories, For the Love of Teachers is a tribute to
those whose dedication to education reigns supreme, whether simply for the
summer vacations or the shortened workday. May these stories inspire a new
generation of teachers to pass on the lessons they have learned, or may they
reignite the passion of the tenured few.
Some stories are warm, humorous, and heartfelt, while others speak of the
sacrifices and challenges faced by educators and students alike. Although the
path can be difficult and unexpected at times, many will agree that the true
reward for teaching lies in the aha moment—that specific point in time when
everything becomes clear and understood. For the Love of Teachers is the
ideal way to express the admiration and appreciation we share for getting us

The challenges we face over the course of a lifetime, especially those that involve personal loss, can seem devastating.
That’s what radio personality and self-help specialist Dr. Raeleen
D’Agostino Mautner discovered when her husband suddenly and
unexpectedly died of a heart attack. The Italian rituals and lifestyle habits she grew up with—and later began researching—were
instrumental in helping her stay grounded, feel comforted, and
gently redirect her life to a new path of joy and personal transformation.
In Lemons Into Limoncello, she shares how to find self-acceptance, comfort, courage, and personal renewal on the heels of
adversity—Italian style. When in the throes of challenges like the
loss of a job, the death of a loved one, or financial struggles, it is
hard to believe life will ever be enjoyable again. In each chapter
Mautner offers a classic Italian perspective that provides support
through sadness, encouragement for personal growth, and a
healthy, healing way to find personal strength through wisdom
that has stood the test of time.
Chapters include:
Il Sacro Canto: Let Music Start the Healing
La Sprezzatura: Make the Difficult Look Easy
Il Dolce Fare Niente: Allow The Sweetness of Doing Nothing
Le Arte: Use Beautiful Visuals to Uplift
Caffe’ e Biscotti: Create Small Pleasure Rituals

An MIT graduate and internationally
known pioneer in the field of wellness
explains why “aging is a mistake”.
Ray Francis’ first book, Never Be Sick Again, helped thousands of people put their “incurable” diseases into remission and enabled thousands
more to achieve peak immunity from disease. Now Francis brings his
revolutionary approach to anyone who wants reverse accelerated aging.
Just like an automobile, the body ages as a result of accumulated
repair deficits or a lack of maintenance. Fortunately, the human body is
a self-repairing system, and Francis shows readers how to stay in good
repair and keep the aging process at bay. His revolutionary approach
counters the one-size-fits-all approach of most conventional anti-aging
treatments by targeting specific imbalances that manifest through “aging” symptoms. Botox injections, plastic surgery, even hormone-replacement therapies don’t get meaningful results because they fail to activate
the body’s self-repair mechanisms. Sometimes these treatments compound the problem by introducing additional toxins into the body. Never
Feel Old Again provides a fundamental understanding of why we experience accelerated aging and teaches us to look and feel our best and be
healthy at any age.
Raymond Francis (Coral Springs, FL) is an internationally recognized leader in the field of optimal-health maintenance. A chemist
by training and a graduate of MIT, Raymond is the author of the
bestselling books Never Be Sick Again and Never Be Fat Again. His
most recent work was a breakthrough book on how to prevent
and reverse cancer, At age seventy-six, Francis enjoys an extraordinary level of health. He is president of Beyond Health International, a supplier of highly advanced health education and world
class health-supporting products to the public and the publisher of Beyond Health
Newsclips, a newsletter supplying advanced health information.

Never Feel Old Again continues to promote the theory of “one disease,
two causes, six pathways,” pioneered in Never Be Sick Again. In this case
it exemplifies how to prevent cellular malfunction and repair deficits that
underlie premature aging.

A guidebook for navigating the
moral and ethical complications
in everyday friendships.
As imperfect human beings, we often face ethical and moral challenges as
we relate with others on a daily basis, be it with our office mates, our Facebook friends, or our best friend since grade school. In this riveting and insightful tour of the meaning and purpose of connection, Matousek draws
from personal experience, interviews, and letters from readers to provide
a reservoir rich in wisdom about friendship, commitment, honesty, greed,
jealousy, loyalty, competition, imitation, abandonment, and reconciliation.
In twenty-four succinct essays, each followed by thought-provoking questions, he examines a plethora of moral dilemmas, including:
• What to Do When You Can’t Stand Your Friends’ Children
• What to Do When Your Friend’s Spouse Comes on to You
• How to Deal with Friends Who Don’t Listen
• How to Get a Mooch to Pay Up
• What Happens When You’re Jealous of a Successful Friend?
Backed by scientific evidence, interviews with experts, philosophical
teachings, and psychological insight, Ethical Wisdom for Friends is a simple, edifying, and entertaining look at these concepts for everyday seekers
who more interested in hands-on advice than abstract information.

Middleburg’s teen martial artists scramble to reunite the broken
shards of the powerful and mysterious Shen ring, in an effort to
locate their missing friend Raphael and avert worldwide disaster—but it won’t be easy.
A pack of government agents, a secret order of Chinese kung
fu masters, and a family of vengeful fallen angels stand in their
way. Amid the struggle, tensions between the two teen gangs
flare once again when one of the Flats kids gets jumped and put
in the hospital. Zhai and Ignacio, the leaders of the rival factions,
struggle to maintain peace and continue their quest for the ring
shards amid the rising tide of confrontation.
Meanwhile, Middleburg’s leading ladies Maggie and Dalton
put their differences aside in an effort to wrest their friend Aimee
from the clutches of the sultry and seductive Nephilim, Orias. But
when a powerful fallen angel learns that Orias has imprisoned
his father Oberon, a new supernatural menace is unleashed on
Middleburg, one that threatens to bring all the conflicting factions
together in one final, deadly inferno.
The only hope is that Middleburg’s missing teen hero will
somehow reappear and find a way to set things right—but he’s
been gone for over two months, without leaving a single clue
as to his whereabouts. As the situation grows dire, all of Middleburg wonders: where is Raphael Kain? With mighty doses of kung
fu, eastern mysticism, and star-crossed love, Shadow Train is the
most poignant, romantic, and explosive book in The Tracks series
thus far!

How to Save Your Daughter’s Life
The Brain Fix
Straight Talk for Parents from America’s Top Criminal Profiler
What’s the Matter with Your Gray Matter: Improve Your Memory,
Moods, and Mind
Pat Brown
Warning: I speak in a very open fashion about sex, violence, relationships, prostitution, drugs, alcohol, rape, murder, crime, criminals and
psychopaths. I do not beat around the bush or couch what I say in
soothing words or in psychobabble feel-good sugarcoating. I may take
on the thinking of the predator or psychopath and show you what he
might be planning for your daughter and it isn’t particularly sweet. I
hope you understand I simply want to be clear and straightforward
with no BS. Better a bit of discomfort here than massive heartache
later.
—Pat Brown
There are many dangerous people who aren’t behind bars, and parents of preteen and teen girls need to be more proactive than ever
about keeping their daughters safe. That’s the message veteran criminal profiler Pat Brown wants parents to understand. In this no-holdsbarred book, Brown shouts loud and clear that every young woman is
vulnerable to a plethora of unforeseen dangers.
Brown has provided crime commentary and profile and forensic
analysis in more than 2,000 television and radio appearances; she
wants families to understand how predators choose victims and how
to avoid becoming a target. How to Save Your Daughter’s Life covers
all of the dangers that today’s young women face and arms parents
with information they rarely get from professionals, including the truth
about what behaviors might get their daughters abused, raped, or
killed—careless actions and attitudes no one usually talks about. It may
not be pretty, but neither is being a victim.
What You Will Learn:
• The negative impact of certain video games, literature, TV, and
films
• The world of psychopaths and criminals—how they think, where
they lurk, and how they lure and grab their victims
• The dangers of texting, sexting, Facebook, Craigslist, and the Internet, and more
• Relationships that can be dangerous, including those with teachers, coaches, uncles, bosses, boyfriends, and the fathers of the
kids daughters babysit
• How to prevent daughters from drifting into alternative lifestyles,
hanging around questionable people, and experimenting with
drugs and alcohol

even decades—later in adult relationships.
Adult Children of Alcoholics suffer from a post-traumatic stress created by their dysfunctional family situations. Through insightful analysis and thoughtful examination, bestselling author and renowned psychologist Tian Dayton shows ACoAs how and why this family trauma
has such a profound effect on adult relationships and provides the
tools for marshaling resilience and restoring health and happiness.
Dr. Dayton explores how our brains and bodies process childhood
trauma and how those traumas can become the catalyst for unhealthy,
self-medicating behaviors including drug and alcohol abuse, food issues, and sex, gambling, and shopping addictions. Readers who have
experienced previous trauma will learn how they developed PTSD and
how they can heal both personally and interpersonally.

Stories are the windows into our souls. They help guide us through
life’s most difficult obstacles while continuously teaching us valuable
lessons along the way. New York Times bestselling author Dan Clark
has masterfullycombined many of these life lessons into the pages of
Soul Food: Stories to Keep You Mentally Strong, Emotionally Awake,
and Ethically Straight.
When asked if the stories are true, Clark writes, “Yes. They are true
to principles, they are true to heart, they are true to the soul.” Each
one is written with a purpose—an educational tool for those who are
seeking to grow from their experiences, rather than falter through their
pain. Soul Food fills readers with a steady diet of love, support, concern,
and counsel. In this wonderfully crafted book, Clark touches upon the
topics of the importance of understanding, self-worth, service, perspective, communication, commitment, and love, just to name a few.
Whether through learning about a little girl who arrives home
late from school because she stayed behind to help a friend cry, or
an eighty-seven-year-old college student named Rose, each story will
elicit a pause—a brief moment to reflect and personalize the message
conveyed. These stories will captivate readers’ hearts and nourish their
souls.

Believable Hope
Coincidence Is God’s Way of Remaining Anonymous
The 5 Essential Elements to Beat Any Addiction
Reflections on Daytime
Dramas and Divine
Intervention
Michael Cartwright, Chairman, American
Addictions Centers and Ken Abraham,
A premiere addiction industry trail blazer, and one
of the founders of dual recovery, shares the proven,
life-changing approach that will end any addiction.
Millions of people appear to be living normal lives yet they are secretly
numbing their emotional pain with alcohol, drugs, food, and many
other lifestyle addictions. There is hope, and author Michael Cartwright
knows this firsthand, both personally and professionally.
Hooked on drugs and alcohol as a teenager, Cartwright landed in
a psychiatric hospital in a catatonic state in his early twenties. Despite
completing recovery programs and mandatory counseling, he continued in a downward spiral until he had an epiphany. Once he visualized
what his life could be, he created an inward believable hope that his life
could change for the better. By adjusting his mind-set and confronting
his core emotional issues, he overcame his compulsions and became
emotionally healthy. He went on to establish multiple nationwide treatment centers, helping thousands break the cycle of addiction.
In Believable Hope, he shares his personal struggles and the
5-pronged approach that has caused dramatic transformation with
clientele ranging from those living on the street to celebrities and everyone in-between. This book is a lifeline for people battling addiction,
and a fresh sense of hope for those who love them.

Gloria Loring
A memoir on show business, coincidence,
mystery, and miracles from recording artist
and star of Days of Our Lives.
I loved Gloria’s autobiography about coincidence. It is thoughtful,
thought provoking, and inspirational.
—Dr. Daniel Amen, New York Times bestselling author
Ten million daily viewers loved her as Liz Chandler on the soap opera
Days of Our Lives. Yet while the cameras rolled and the fictional plotline
for Days unfolded, Loring was quietly wrestling with her own real-life
dramas—the diagnosis of her young son’s diabetes, the unraveling of
her marriage, and a nagging inner voice from childhood that told her
something was wrong. Coincidence Is God’s Way of Remaining Anonymous is Loring’s spiritual exploration of how coincidence helped her
make sense of life’s challenges and uncertainties. With eloquence and humor, Loring takes readers on a quest for a
deeper understanding of life’s journey and the role coincidence plays
in all of our lives, revealing that even the most difficult circumstances can be beneficial. Her experiences may be just the evidence readers need to begin watching more closely what they are attracting and
what they are running from in their own lives. While coincidences may
appear to come out of the blue, Loring suggests that we can all play a
starring role in their appearance. For years, I’d been waiting for someone else to make my life better. You’d have thought I was starring in “The Perils of Pauline.” In
truth, I wasn’t a victim, I was a volunteer. . . . Coincidence gave me an
experience of the lesson I needed to learn: You don’t have to wait for
someone to save you.

A Dignified Life, Revised
The Lauren Terrazzano Story
The Best Friends™ Approach to Alzheimer’s Care: A Guide for Care
Partners
An Award-Winning Social Journalist Stricken with Lung Cancer Chronicled Her Illness to Bring Hope and Comfort to Others
Frank Terrazzano and Paul Lonardo
Foreword by Pulitzer Prize winner Anna Quindlen
A father’s tender story of his award-winning journalist
daughter’s toughest assignment of all.
Newsday journalist Lauren Terrazzano loved what she did. Often uncovering urgent stories about social issues such as elder care, abused
children, and the homeless, Lauren was passionate, compassionate,
and intelligent, and she became a voice for the voiceless through her
writing by taking global issues and personalizing them.
But Lauren’s biggest breaking news came when she was diagnosed with lung cancer at the age of thirty-six. With her signature writing style and credo for honesty and accuracy, Lauren wanted to write
about her situation to put a human face on her disease. Her boss at
Newsday gave her a weekly column called “Life, with Cancer,” which
attracted readers from around the world who were eager to follow her
medical progress. In her column, Lauren candidly shared day-to-day
experiences in hopes of shedding light on lung cancer—a disease that
kills more women each year than breast, ovarian, and uterine cancers
combined. Lauren, a nonsmoker, died at age thirty-nine.
Filled with sensitivity and love, Life, with Cancer is Frank Terrazzano’s tribute to his beloved daughter, filled with her life, her voice, and
her courageous message to others faced with cancer. With excerpts
from Lauren’s moving and sometimes humorous Newsday columns,
Life, with Cancer will make headlines.
“Life, with Cancer,” her column was called, and it detailed what
happens, first when we are sick, then when we know we are going
to die. As she had from the beginning of her career, Lauren not only
mined her own experiences but connected powerfully with readers.
Thousands and thousands responded as she wrote with humor about
the dumb things people sometimes say to those who are ill, wrote
with anger about the complicity of tobacco companies, wrote with
understanding about the challenge loving someone with cancer can
pose for family and friends.

Spirituality and Recovery
A classic introduction to the difference between spirituality and religion in the process of healing

Spirituality is recognizing that we have the power to change the things in our lives that bring us pain so we can
begin the healing process. Spirituality is recovery. We don’t have to be religious to be spiritual—we just have
to believe in who we are.
With a broad spectrum of references from music, dance, theater, sexuality, relationships, nature, and the
author’s personal experiences as a priest and a recovering alcoholic, Reverend Leo Booth takes an unconventional approach to explaining that we don’t need to get spirituality, but instead we discover it, because spirituality is innate, already given to us—all of us—at birth.
Simple to understand, yet profound in its insights, Spirituality and Recovery will speak to the many people
throughout the world who do not practice a religion yet are spiritual in the way they live their lives.
The Angel and the Frog
Becoming Your Own Angel
Leo Booth
A modern-day fable about connecting with the true path to spirituality.
Cleverly crafted by acclaimed author and motivational speaker Reverend Leo Booth, The Angel and the Frog is
both a charming fable about relationships and an exquisite insight into life and overcoming challenges, similar in
the way George Orwell’s classic Animal Farm was an insight into politics and governmental Big Brother.
This imaginary world is a welcome metaphor for our lives today, where many feel disconnected from spirituality. Through the use of relatable characters, it highlights social issues like racism, bullying, homophobia, sexual
abuse, low self-esteem, and shame. These difficult topics are presented with subtlety and grace. Readers will fall
in love with the animal characters in this beautiful fable as they respond to the moral challenge that leads to
angelic transformation.
The Angel and the Frog is an uplifting read for all ages and all denominations about spirituality, love, and what
it means to become your own angel.

Go beyond religious dogma to form a deeper, more authentic spirituality
This book makes so much sense and yet it turns traditional religious thinking and spirituality upside down
. . . (and argues) what most of us have secretly known for years: God is not codependent. God does not fix or
rescue us in times of tribulation and suffering. God is not needy for our attention. Rather, God is a partner in the
living of life.

As we face struggles and challenges, religion can often be a source of comfort. But the heretic—one who challenges conventional religion as most of us know it—warns against becoming religiously codependent and blindly accepting tenets like “Everything happens for a reason” and “This is in God’s hands.” And the “happy” heretic
will do so in a way that allows us to feel alive, empowered, and still true to who we are.
The Happy Heretic turns traditional thinking and spirituality on its head. This thought-provoking read clearly
explains the core issues of religious codependency by giving examples from our everyday lives and sets the
stage for creating a new understanding of our relationship with God. It presents readers with an opportunity to
rethink their religious beliefs—even the prayers they grew up with—to form a deeper, more spiritual understanding of who they are and form a healthy partnership with God.

Unprofitables are banished to work camps to pay off their credit. Other tie-men and women look on apathetically. Fair is fair. Everyone knows you shouldn’t use more credit than you are worth to the Company. They
turn their attention to the next repackaged but highly coveted N-Corp product on the market, creatively
advertised on the imager screens that adorn virtually every available flat surface. All the while, their mandatory cross-implants and wrist-worn “ICs” keep them focused on the endless cycle of work and consumption
to which they are enslaved.
May Fields—the CEO’s daughter—would like to believe she is above all that. Head of N-Corp’s marketing
team, the young woman who has almost everything anyone could want spends her days dreaming up ingenious ways to make workers buy more of what they already have and don’t need. Even before May discovers
that the Company is headed for its first loss in thirty years, she is feeling the stirrings of dissatisfaction with
the system that has given her everything she’s ever wanted . . . except the freedom to be herself.
When she is kidnapped by a member of the Protectorate—a secret order dating back to the American
Revolution—May is suddenly faced with the frightening truth of what the Company’s greed has done to our
most basic human rights. Will she embrace who she is and join the battle to restore America’s democratic
freedom, or put her blinders back on and return to her safe and passionless life?
More prediction than fiction, Blood Zero Sky is a riveting, nonstop, and suspenseful
gaze into the looking glass, destined to rise with the zeitgeist of our times to become
the anthem of a generation.

Thirty Days with My Father
The Undefeated Mind
Finding Peace from Wartime PTSD
On the Science of Constructing an Indestructible Self
Christal Presley, PhD
Foreword by Edward Tick, PhD
Alex Lickerman, MD
In this powerful memoir, a daughter and her father face
the demons of post-war trauma.
To me, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder was just a bunch of words. All I
knew was that it had something to do with his brain and he seemed to
be going crazy. And I knew it was bad because my mom told me that
if anyone found out how sick he was, they’d come and take him away
forever, and they’d take me away too, and she couldn’t live like that.
If he had to be that sick, I wanted him to have something everybody
could understand. So I picked brain cancer.
—From Thirty Days with My Father
“Thirty Days with My Father” is an important addition to the literature
of trauma psychology, shining a beacon of hope for transformation
and healing.
—From the Foreword by Edward Tick, PhD, author, War and the Soul
You will be profoundly moved by this eloquent memoir.
—Frank Ochberg, MD, mental health expert who defined the term PTSD
An incredible memoir . . . an important part of thestill unhealed
wounds of war.
—Nikki Giovanni, world-renowned poet, writer, activist, and educator
When Christal Presley’s father was eighteen, he was drafted to Vietnam.
Like many men of that era who returned home with post-traumatic
stress disorder (PTSD), he was never the same. He spent much of her
childhood locked in his room, gravitating between the deepest depression and unspeakable rage. At a very young age, Christal learned to
walk on eggshells, doing anything and everything not to provoke him,
but this dance caused her to become a profoundly disturbed little girl.
She acted out at school, engaged in self-mutilation, and partied excessively. At the age of eighteen, Christal left home and didn’t look back.
She barely spoke to her father for the next thirteen years.
In 2009, Christal decided it was time to begin the healing process.
She came up with “The Thirty Day Project,” a month’s worth of conversations during which she would ask her father the difficult questions
about Vietnam. Thirty Days with My Father is a gritty yet heartwarming
story of a daughter and father reconnecting in a way that will inspire us
all to seek the truth, even from life’s most difficult relationships.
Tools for cultivating the inner strength
with an open heart to build resilience and
attain indestructible happiness
The loss of a job, a devastating illness, the death of a loved one . . . life
is filled with adversity that is often out of our control. To build strength
out of adversity, we need a catalyst. What we need is wisdom—wisdom
that the experience of adversity has the potential to impart. Combining core tenets of Nichiren Buddhism with the latest scientific research
plus real-life stories from his patients, Alex Lickerman, MD—a respected
physician and practicing Buddhist for more than twenty years—provides readers with the tools they need to develop an undefeated mind:
a mind that faces all circumstances, good and bad alike, with a sense of
calm and maintaining a sense of joy no matter what happens.
Lickerman’s underlying premise is that our ability to control what
happens to us in life may be limited, but we have the ability to establish
a life-state that enables us to surmount the suffering life brings us.
I make life-and-death decisions every day with a constant awareness
that the slightest mistake on my part may cost people their lives. The
principles imparted to me by Dr. Lickerman have been of incredible
personal value, keeping me calm and able to maintain a mind that
refuses to be defeated under even the most chaotic of conditions.

Healing Trauma Through Self-Parenting
Patricia O’Gorman, Ph.D., and Phil Diaz, M.S.W.
Self-healing through self-parenting, a concept introduced a generation ago, has helped thousands of adult children of alcoholics who
are codependent and have conflicts in their primary relationships.
O’Gorman and Diaz, authors of the classic book The 12 Steps to SelfParenting for Adult Children, expand the reach of that successful healing paradigm to anyone who has suffered from any kind of trauma.
Through a process modeled after the 12 Steps of AA, this book offers
help to a broad array of readers, not just those who are ACoAs.

Growing Happy Kids
Maureen Healy, founder of Growing Happy Kids
The Power and Grace Between Nasty or Nice
John Friel, Ph.D., and Linda Olund Friel, M.A.
Discover the hidden connection between inner confidence and future
success and happiness.
Every parent wants his or her child to be happy and grow into a
productive, fulfilled adult . . . and according to parenting expert Maureen Healy, the secret to that success is in providing a foundation of inner confidence. With twenty years of experience as a spiritual teacher
and child development expert, Healy has assisted countless parents
and kids put the foundation of confidence and happiness in place.
Whether interacting in political arenas or playgrounds, boardrooms or
bedrooms, we as a nation have fueled an epidemic of bad behavior.
From political correctness agendas to the faux self-esteem movement,
from absent parents to helicopter parents, many adults developed
unhealthy ways of approaching the natural conflicts in our daily lives
and entitlement, narcissism, and incivility reign supreme. By learning to
balance this power zone between victim and perpetrator, anyone can
stop dysfunctional behavior and ignite positive change.

Because self-worth is a choice,
not a birthright. This revised classic offers hope to a new generation that a painful past does not
mean a less than brilliant future.
Learning to Love Yourself
The Change Your Life Book
We all come into this world full of promise and possibility. Yet for the
millions of people who grew up in painful families, whether by absent
parents, abusive parents, or those who were ill-equipped, noted therapist Wegscheider-Cruse shows that they do not have to follow a family
tradition of compulsion or addiction. In fact, it is possible to create our
own self-worth and reinvent ourselves each day, opening up to a world
of possibilities.
The true secret to life-long transformation, according to certified professional counselor Bill O’Hanlon, is to make small, subtle changes that
will yield profound and lasting results. In this concise book, O’Hanlon
shares his simple formula: Change the Doing, Change the Viewing,
and Change the Setting. Each concept is illustrated with examples of
everyday challenges and easy-to-implement experiments for affecting
transformation.

Ghost Crown
Over 2,000 people lost weight—and kept it off—by eating free. For those
who are sick of restrictive diets that limit carbs and are impossible to
maintain, or for those who are stuck on a diet plateau, Eating Free can
give them back the food and the life they love—and they will still lose
weight. What’s more, Villacorta shows why a little-known hormone,
gherlin, can wreak havoc on waistlines and sabotage efforts, and why
almost everything we think we know about weight loss is wrong!

Exercise Is Critical for Success. Over 70 percent of Americans hate the gym or don’t have time to go. Guess what? You
don’t need to spend hours at the gym. Eating Free proves that
weight loss is 80 percent nutrition and only 20 percent exercise. You’ll
learn how to shop—not sweat your way to being lean—and focus on
preparing delicious food instead of exercising excessively.

What If Everything Your Parents Ever Told You Was a Lie?
Fear rocked Chip St. Clair’s world. But the most frightening day of all was when Chip
discovered that the brutal man he called ‘Dad’ was a fugitive—an escaped child murderer on the run for

father and dysfunctional mother, and the cold night in 1998 when he somehow found the strength to
turn his father in. Michael Grant, the only dad St. Clair had ever known, was now offender #37670.

What the Bleep Do We Know? guides readers
on a course from the scientific to the spiritual;
from the universal to the truly personal.
—Publishers Weekly
People are still talking about the independent movie and international blockbuster, What
the Bleep Do We Know!?
This full color book of amazing science based on the movie takes the reader through the looking
glass of quantum physics into a universe that is more bizarre and alive than ever imagined.
• What is a thought made of? What is reality made of? And most important, how does a thought change
the nature of reality?
• A higher power exists, but is it truly out there? Where is the dividing line between “out there” and “in here”?
• If thoughts are more than random neural firings, then is consciousness
more than an anatomical accident?
What the Bleep answers these questions through an innovative, new approach to self-help and spirituality that’s far different—and more exciting—than anything else on bookshelves. More than twenty
short, focused, interactive chapters take readers on a journey that will integrate the answers to these
Great Questions into every aspect of their lives.
