Workshop
We kick off the weekend on Friday
night, with a special presentation from
Candace’s upcoming book Knit my
Skirt. With tips and techniques to knit
skirts for every body, an entertaining
evening is in store for all!
Over the course of the weekend,
Candace will present a trio of workshops:
Breaking Baa-ad
Yo, let’s get cooking! It’s time to break bad from all those
same old techniques. There are easier and better ways
of doing these things. Learn innovative new ideas from
Candace’s kitchen. With crystal clear instructions, a little
humor, and a lot of cool tricks, come and get high with
your knitting!
Scallops-They’re Not Just for Dinner
You’ve done mitered squares,
you’ve done diamonds, and now
you’re looking for some curves,
right? Scallops have arrived,
and they have nestled into a
beautifully shaped shawl. Any
yarn, any needle size, and you
can customize the colors too.
Along the way add some nice
technique to your répertoire.
Double Dare
You’ll do a double-take when you see what
you can do with double knitting, double
colors, and double hands. Learn to create a
two-sided fabric with two colors using both
hands. After you master stockinette stitch you
will continue on, learning several different
stitch patterns.
meet Candace
Candace Eisner Strick has
immersed herself in music
and knitting most of her
life. Now retired from 16
years of teaching cello, she
concentrates on designing,
writing, and teaching knitting.
Her latest book, Strickly-Socks, features a revolutionary and
amazingly simple way of knitting socks. She is the author of
six other books, has been published in numerous magazines,
and has taught nationally and internationally since 1998.
She is the creator of her own line of yarn, Merging Colors,
and her own line of patterns under the name Strickwear.
