I have a small collection of Winross trucks, not even close to the number that have been produced over
the years by Winross. Some are promotional models, some are for fund raisers and some are for in
house sales by the companies that have special runs made up.
This Ford is a fund raiser for a Pennsylvania volunteer fire company.
The sides of this trailer are clear, an unusual feature. The trucks printed on the trailer sides seem to
float.

A couple sets of series trucks. History of Freightliner trucks. I don't have all of this series, some are
extremely hard to find.
The first truck is the founding of the company.
First commercial sale truck. Freightliners were inhouse built trucks for Consolidated Freightways until
Hyster forklift corporation bought the first publicly sold truck, a three axle cab over with sleeper. This

truck is now in the Smithsonian Institutes collection.
Next up is the new style flat face cab over, being pulled by an FLD 120 two axle tractor.
Each of these trucks has a brief history of the company printed on the side of the trailer, and inside the
box.
Freightliner today (at that time)represented by an FLD 120 with a 36 inch integral sleeper cab.

of them, some are very hard to find, and one is just plain ugly, at least I think it was. Here they are in no
particular order. Two axle 8300 heavy trucks.
8300 three axle with the light trucks.
8300 with a set of triple trailers, history of the cab over trucks.
8300 with a dry van for the medium duty trucks.

All of these trucks are diecast metal and most have no plastic parts except for the tires and the landing
legs on the trailers. All have working suspension.
The Freightliners have orange plastic inserts for the cab lights and turn signals, and the tank trailer
barrels are plastic. They are 64th scale, and range in price from about 15.00 up to the hundreds of
dollars for the very rare ones. There is a collectors Club with several chapters across the US. Winross
was bought by another toy company several years ago.
