12-year-old pianist, singer, composer, songwriter,
and actor Ethan joins us for a spectacular
evening full of lyrical whimsy. As the youngest
headlining performer in the world, Ethan focuses
his philanthropic efforts as a way of giving back
to the Jewish community. With the help of the
Jewish Federations of North America, his family
emigrated from Russia when his father was a
young boy. After Ethan’s performance, dig in to
some delicious, kosher Graeter’s ice cream and
refreshments.
Featured performer on Oprah,
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,
and Good Morning America
Come out and discover hands-on art
demonstrations and displays for all ages from local
artists from across the Miami Valley. At 3:30pm,
visiting author Lisa Barr joins us to discuss her new
novel, Fugitive Colors. Winner of the Hollywood
Film Festival’s award for Best Unpublished
Manuscript, Barr’s thrilling tale of artistic revenge
after World War II is captivating readers all
across the country. During Barr’s presentation, a
supervised creative children’s hour will be held, full
of activities that bring Jewish literature to life for
children ages 4 to 8.

National correspondent for The New York Times,
John delves into Oddly Normal, his funny and
darkly affecting memoir of his family’s struggle
to help their teenage son come to terms with his
sexuality, stand up to bullies, and find acceptance.
Named a Notable Book by The New York Times
and Best Book of the Year by The Daily Beast,
Schwartz’s writing offers crucial lessons to anyone
wanting to help a kid who is different.
Come dressed in your game-day favorites and
get in gear for Ohio State’s own amazing coed Jewish acapella group, The MeshugaNotes.

Celebrate the beginning of Chanukah with the
glorious oratorio Judas Maccabaeus, performed
by the Miami Valley Symphony Orchestra and
a community chorus. Handel’s Maccabaeus,
composed in 1746, tells the heroic tale of Judas
Maccabee and the Maccabean revolt against
the Selucid Empire. Tapping into the moods
and emotions of the Jewish people as their fate
changes from dejection to jubilation, it provides a
wonderful gaze into Jewish history.
Co-sponsored by the Miami Valley Symphony
Orchestra

book signing and a dessert reception.
