Think Back...
If you look around a high
school classroom, you
will probably see a few
examples of every popular trend. In this new year
of 2014, the trend tends
to be: oversized shirts,
print leggings, big purses,
skinny jeans, etc. Trends
can change year to year,
month to month, and even
day to day! Seriously, just
think back three to four
years; things have changed
a lot! Now think back 1015 years; it has been a
very dramaticchange. A
few Seniors were asked to
take a walk down memory
lane, to record “nostalgic”
things from their childhood and teenage years.
Their responses follow:
Andrew Esan
-His favorite cartoons were
Rugrats, Power Rangers,
Rocketpower, and Catdog.
-Since he has started high
school, he has seen socks
with sandals and Sillybandz
go out of style.
-He was happy to see Crocs
go out of style, but he was
sad to see Sillybandz go.
Ben Wallis
Kristen Wilkins
-He remembers cartoons
such as Rocket Power,
Crashbox, and Ed, Ed, &
Eddy.
-He was happy to see the
“swag” trend be retired.
-When asked if he foresaw
any old trends coming back
in style, he said, “I’d like to
think so, but c’mon, the IQ
level of generations are depleting each year. But hey,
at least A&F, American
Eagle, and Aeropostale are
making a killing off these
“up and coming” idiots.”
-Her favorite cartoons were
Rolie Polie Olie, Madeline,
and PB&J Otter.
-Since she started high
school, she has seen Silly
Bandz, hair-feathers, and
Maxi dresses come and
go.
-Her favorite trend was
Maxi Dresses, and her least
favorite was Silly Bandz.
Do you ever wonder what students are doing for their
senior projects? Well here are a few examples...
Logan Simpson
Logan’s Senior project
is Taxidermy. His project has made him realize
how much work actually
goes into Taxidermy. His
favorite part was mounting a duck. When asked if
he would reccomend this
prokect for someone else,
he said, “Yes, so they can
see all that work that goes
into it!”
Landon Redmon
Telecia Jamison
For
Landon’s
Senior
Project,he restord a Kenworth W9000A 18 Wheeler. He picked this particular project, because he can
use the finished product
around his family’s farm.
His project has changed
him to instill a new respect
for all of the work that
goes into restoring things,
and has expanded his work
ability.
Telecia Jamison chose
Cake Decoration for her
senior project. She picked
this project because she
looks forward to working in a bakery. She has
learned to bake and make
homemade fondant! Her
mentor is Sabrina Bonner;
she works on her Senior,
Project at Food Giant.
Diana Amaya
Diana Amaya’s senior
project is Volunteer
Nursing. She picked
this project because she
is interested in becoming a geriatric nurse.
In her project, she was
mentored by Patricia
Simmons and worked
on her Senior project at
McNairy County Health
Care. Diana enjoys being able to spend time
with the elderly, and
her senior project has
given her a new respect
for them.
Kirby Tacker shows Mr. Walters the meaning
of rejection in the Faculty-Student basketball
game. The faculty defeated the students in
the pep rally by a score of 7-6. Below, Coach
Forsythe sets to shoot a 3-pointer.
