3 HOURS CFP CE OFFERED
The Dow Jones Index has made a record high. Interest rates have stopped
rising. The housing market is weakening. The U.S. savings rate is now
negative for the first time since the
1930’s. What’s it all mean? We will
look at all this and more as we search
for investment opportunities and
watch for investment pitfalls to avoid.
Join us for an in-depth program focusing on investment strategy for 2007
and beyond. We are fortunate to
have with us these articulate and
knowledgeable speakers who will give
us three perspectives on investing in
the year ahead.
The first half of the program will consist of separate presentations on investment strategy by each speaker.
The second half will be a panel discussion moderated by Kelley Hook,
Investment Analyst for Journey Tree
Financial Planning & Investments.

Greetings:
With the ghosts and goblins
behind us, it’s time to think
“turkey,” in anticipation of
thinking “Santa” very soon.
Do you have your Christmas
shopping done? I haven’t even thought about
mine yet!
We hope you enjoy the new format for our
meetings, starting in November. As we have
previously mentioned, your Board of Directors have
decided to move to a quarterly format with a
beefed up agenda and more continuing education
hours. Our first quarterly meeting features three
highly qualified speakers who will update us on the
State of the Economy and Investment Markets
Your previous Chapter President, Michael SymanDegler, has also been diligently working on the 7th
annual Spring Planning Symposium scheduled for
May 23, 2006 at the Valley River Inn.
I hope to see everyone at the DAC on November
14 th for the first expanded quarterly meeting!

• Last name, first name, middle initial
That’s it! We’ll keep your information in a database so that
you only need give it to us once. No CE Certificates will
need to be issued any longer. You will now go online to
check the status of your CE hours. Within 2 business days
of each meeting, your CE hours will be posted. Please visit:
www.cfp.net for more information.
Email Linda Barba with your info from above:

Important Notice
for CFPs needing CEs!!!
Now that we must submit all CFP CEs electronically,
all you need to do is go to the CFP website to add the
courses you need for your CE requirement to your account. However, people have been entering our chapter's name in different ways and you won't find any
classes unless you enter it the way the CFP Board
has us listed.
Please follow these steps:
1) Go to www.cfp.net
2) Login
3) Select "My CFP Certification" tab
4) Select "add CFP"
5) Enter "FPA - Financial Planning Association"
(include the hyphen or the site won't come up)
6) Click on "FPA - Financial Planning Association" and
a menu of courses offered by the association appear.
7) Click on "Select" aside the course you want and it
will be added to your account.
8) There will be a box that you must check that indicates that you did attend this training. Repeat this
exercise for other courses taken by this association.
The site is very unforgiving for incorrect association
names. That's why we wanted to give you the correct
spelling. Good luck!
