ALEXIA ICHIM
Hi! I’m Alexia and I am eleven years old. I
like swimming, playing tennis and riding my
bike. When I was little, my sister used to
swim a lot and I liked what she was doing.
My father decided it would be good for me
to go swimming, too. The first day I thought
it would be the ultimate experience of my
life. And it was.
I also love Lego games very much. I think
Lego is my favourite hobby.
I started playing with Lego when I was four.
I always liked it because I am dreaming to
become an architect.

FLORIN ONOFREI
Hi, my name is Florin Onofrei and I am 12
years old. I’m a very active person. I like
swimming, basketball, ping-pong, ski, but my
favourite sport is tennis. I started playing
tennis when I was six years old. I practice
once a week and I always have a good time
because my coach is cheerful and funny.
One of my favourite school subjects is
English. I study English at British Council
and I have already passed two Cambridge
examinations: Movers and Flyers. Now I am
studying for KET exam, which is at the end
of May.
I like travelling and I have visited many
places in Romania and in the European
countries.
ANDREEA COMAN
Hello! I am Andreea, I am 12 years old and I study at “Tudor Vianu“ National College of
Computer Science. I have fair long hair and brown honest eyes.
I like playing basketball and cricket, also going skating. I love listening to music .When I
am tired of this excited life, I like putting my headphones on and listening to music at
maximum, to forget about all the problems, to be only me with the music. Those are the
most beautiful moments.
I am a perfect people reader, a dreamer and a sensitive person. I like believing that you
first have to make dreams and then try to make them come true, because without dreams
and hope life has no sense. And I always base on feelings and forebodings, because they
never trick me.

COSTIN ANDREI VLAD
I’m Vlad Costin Andrei, a normal student from
“Tudor Vianu” College who wants to tell about
him: I am 11 years old and I like sports. One of
these is tennis. I start playing tennis from 7
years old. I like tennis because I can spend my
time doing something I like. At 5 years I
started swimming at Floreasca Pool. The thing I
like most at swimming is when I swim under
water because I feel like in the ocean. Also, I
started skiing from 5 years on Clabucet Slope,
at Predeal. My instructor was very funny so I
don’t get bored at our ski lesson.
Also, I like spend time playing with Lego or
playing games like Clash of Clans or Monster
Legends on my I-Pad.
About school: I like being here because here I
can learn much than at other school. My favorite
subject is PE. I start doing English from about 4
years, so I like it and now I think it’s easier. I
have learned English at Shakespeare School.

- Good morning. I want to ask you some questions about your job.
The first: what is your job and why do you like it?
- I’m a physics teacher and I like this job because I have the possibility to
share to my students the information that I have.
- The second: if it wasn’t physics, what kind of teacher would you like to
be?
- I would like to be a music teacher because I like music very much.
- And the last: would you like to change your job?
- Yes, I would like to be a designer or an architect.
- Thank you. Good bye!

Interview with ana
At school, in a break, I took an interview from Ana.
BY ANDREEA COMAN
Me: Hi, Ana!
Ana: Hi, Andreea!
Me: Would you like me to take you an interview?
Ana: Sure, why not?
Me: What do you think about our high school?
Ana: It is a friendly high school, with a pleasant atmosphere, where you
learn and feel good.
Me: Was it hard for you to accommodate with the high school’s
atmosphere?
Ana: Yes, it was a bit hard because the change from one teacher to 15
teachers takes time, but I’m really happy I did it.
Me:
Which is your favourite teacher?
Ana: Hmmm…I think every teacher is special in its kind.
Me: Good answer.  Which is your favourite school object and why?
Ana: The Art Class, because we can express our creativity, everybody in its
kind, different, but special.
Me: Finally, who would you recommend the high school?
Ana: I would recommend our high school to everybody who wants to
learn in a pleasant atmosphere, with special and understanding teachers.
Me: Thanks a lot, Ana! See you tomorrow!
Ana: You are welcome! See you tomorrow!

Some JOKES
Billy is on his new bicycle.
 Look, mum. No hands.
A minute later he shouts,
 Look, mum. No feet.
Five minutes later he shouts,
 Look, mum. No teeth.
Why are false teeth like stars?
 I don’t know.
Because they always come out at
night.
A motorist ran over an old lady’s
cat and killed it.
 I’m very sorry, said the
motorist. I will replace your
cat, of course.
Very well, but I hope you’re good
at catching mice.
Mummy, you know that old vase
in the hall.
 Yes.
The one that has been handed
down from generation to
generation.
 Yes.
Well, this generation has come
to apologize for dropping it!
8
Doctor, when I’m tired I
sometimes see two of everything.
 Sit on the sofa, please.
 Which one?
There aren’t any flies in the
kitchen today. How did you
manage that?
 Easy! I put the rubbish bin
in the living-room!
Is there a word in the English
language which contains all the
vowels?
 Unquestionably!
Dad, I hate cheese with holes in
it.
 Well, just eat the cheese
and leave the holes on your
plate!
Carol is sitting alone in a
restaurant. A man leaves his
table and comes over her table.
 Would you like a little
company?
 Why? Do you have one to
sell?

PERSONAL DRAWINGS
This is “The time
ship”. It is a ship
from a book. It
travels to mysterious
islands. It is brown,
with white canvases.
This is “Agent Parks”. You
can see that he is wearing
a blue shirt with a red tie
and he has a pen in his
pocket. He always wears
glasses and his hair looks
cool all the time.
I don’t know what this is,
but it is very interesting.
I call it “The rectangles”.

I am as busy as a bee
Nobody works harder than me,
My cousin is as playful as a kitten
She always plays in the kitchen.
My friend is as proud as a peacock
He wants to talk, talk, talk…
My dog is as strong as an ox
It sometimes chases a fox.
My cat is as quiet as a mouse
It doesn’t want to leave the house,
My old toy train is as slow as a snail
It often leaves the rail.

The best thing to do
Is going to the zoo.
So come on, my friends,
To spend some pleasant moments!
Lions, tigers, crocodiles,
Bears, pandas, butterflies,
Zebras, snakes and kangaroos,
Giraffes and naughty baboons,
They all want to invite you
To their big nice zoo.

A SCARY STORY
A long time ago, there was a haunted house with a special ghost. The house
had two floors. On the ground floor there was a room with dead people and
a picture with the ghost. The ghost’s name was “Eyes” because in the house
there were a lot of eyes on the walls.
One day two people chose that house for a holiday. They knew that the
house was haunted, but they didn’t believe it was true. So, they visited it.
From time to time they heard the scary scream of the ghost, but they didn’t
get scared.
First they went to the basement. It was very strange because there were
lots of rats which appeared from nowhere saying “run, run!!” and always went
to the stairs and disappeared.
Then they went to the first floor where they found a locked room where it
was believed that the soul of Eyes existed. They looked for Eyes and, when
they didn’t find it, they started making fun and
laughing. But, when they went downstairs and
entered the room with the dead people, their
laugh froze. They tried to run to the door but
it was too late…
Eyes still lives today; you must be on the
lookout, because.... you can’t know when it
can show up behind your back.
You are dead!
Muahahahahaaa!

SPECIAL DAYS – NATIONAL DAYS
Most countries have a day that is a special to
them – a national day. For England, Scotland,
Wales and Ireland, the national day is the day
that belongs to their patron saint.
The first of these four national days is 1st March.
Saint David is the patron saint of Wales and 1st
March is Saint David’s Day. David and his
followers lived quietly in Wales; they did not eat meat, and they drank only water.
David became a famous teacher and a very important man in church in Wales. He died
in 589.
The Welsh love music and singing, so there are many concerts around the
country on this day.
Next is March 17th, Saint Patrick’s
Day, which is a big day in Ireland.
Saint Patrick was born in 385. He
travelled all over Ireland, teaching
and talking about Christianity. He also
built a lot of schools and churches
there. On Saint Patrick’s Day there
are parades, church services and
festivals in Dublin, Belfast and many
other Irish cities.
Saint George is the patron saint of England, and April
23rd is Saint George’s Day. He was a Christian and a
soldier in the Roman army in the third century. When
the Roman Emperor Diocletian said that people could
not follow the Christian religion any more, George said
that he would not stop being a Christian. Diocletian was
very angry, and told his soldiers to torture and then kill
George, and he died in the year 303. One famous story
about him is that he killed a dragon that ate people.
Pictures of Saint George often show him on a horse, killing a dragon. Saint George
became the patron saint of England in the fourteenth century in the time of King
Edward the Third. In 1348 King Edward shouted “saint George for England!” when he
took his men to war.
15
Saint Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland and November 30th is Saint Andrew’s Day.
Saint Andrew is was probably a fisherman in Galilee and took Christianity to Greece.
One story says that the Romans killed him there. Someone moved his body to Istanbul
in Turkey and then to Scotland. They left the body in the place that is now the city
called Saint Andrews.
In other countries the national day is often
on the date of something important that
happened there. In Australia that day is
January 26th: Australia Day. On that day in
1788 the first British ships arrived in the
place that is now called Sydney. The
Australia Day Regatta, a celebration with
lots of sailing races, began in 1837, and still
happens in Sydney every year. There are lots
of other celebrations all over the country.
But not everybody is happy about Australia
day. Many Aboriginal Australians – the first people of Australia – do not celebrate this
day.
New Zealand’s national day is on 6 February and is called Waitangi Day. On February
6th, 1840 people from the British government met a group of Maori chiefs in Waitangi
in the north of New Zealand. They all put their names on an important paper called the
Treaty of Waitangi, which said that New Zealand was now a British colony. On 6
February every year there is a celebration at Waitangi, and there are lots of
celebrations, concerts and festivals in other places.
Canada Day is 1st of July. On that
day people remember the day
in 1867 when the British North
America colonies became the
Dominion of Canada. There are
celebrations all over the
country,
with
pancake
breakfasts, barbecues, parades,
music, and fireworks. The biggest celebrations are in Ottawa, home of the Canadian
government: it’s a great day to visit the city!
