Meet the Big Mouth Bubbler™. The revolutionary replacement for those water jugs known as carboys. It's mouth welcomes cleaning and facilitates a sterile fermentation environment. No bung
slipping on a foamy carboy top—the Big Mouth cap is a twist off. Once you screw the cap on, IT’S
ON and not coming off until you say so.
THE EASIEST VESSEL TO
DESIGNED BY BREWERS,
GET CLEAN & KEEP CLEAN. FOR HOMEBREWING.
6.5
When you put your brew in a fermentation vessel, your ONE expectation is that it will stay
clean and that your yeast will be able to eat
happily without anything funky going on. A
strictly non-funky fermentation party. That's
it. But how can you expect the cleanest and
safest fermentation environment when you
can’t even scrub the bottle with your own two
hands? This vessel was designed especially for
cleaning and sanitizing.
Brewing can be a messy business—but no
more! Stick your arm in to clean the entire
inside with a swipe of the cleaning cloth. No
need to use an inefficient carboy brush to
reach corners and curves.

PRIME DOSE
CARBONATE LIKE THE PROS!
Ever wonder how professional brewers can produce
perfectly bottle conditioned beer every time? Their
secret is that, in addition to priming sugar, they add
live, active yeast. Now you can use pro carbonation
techniques with our new Patent Pending Prime Dose
tablets. Prime Dose combines priming sugar and live
yeast in a convenient capsule, in a dosage perfect
for homebrewing.
Prime Dose is effective in the treatment of many bottle-conditioning ailments ranging from inviable yeast,
big beers with ABV too high for the original yeast to
ferment any further, or poorly mixed priming solution.
Given as a measured dosage of two capsules without
any further treatment, Prime Dose goes straight into
the bottle and gives consistent and repeatable levels
of CO2 every time.
Packaged in a vegan, nutraceutical-grade capsule,
Prime Dose is the culmination of a years worth
of research and development effort. Tested and
retested under various conditions, with different
recipes, the formula was finally deemed a success by
our Brewmasters.
A revolutionary cure for bottle conditioning complications, Prime Dose prevents debilitating scenarios such
as a flat six pack of homebrew given as a gift, showing
up to a party with beer that winds up falling flat, or
bottle bombs from poorly mixed priming solution.
Patent Pending.

INDUSTRIAL GRADE SLOTTED STAINLESS
STEEL ROLLERS · CAM ADJUSTED ROLLER
GAPS FOR PRECISE GRISTING · EZ CLEAN
ACRYLIC HOPPER WITH FORM FITTED
BASE · DESIGNED DOWN TO EVERY DETAIL
SPECIFICALLY FOR HOME BREWING
Captain Crush™ is engineered using premium materials; aluminum and stainless steel thwart corrosion, oil impregnated sintered
bronze bushings require no maintenance, and smoked cast acrylic
provides durability, easy cleanup, and dashing good looks.
Optimizing form and function, a raised rim on the underside of the
base secures the Captain snugly atop any standard 5 or 6.5 gallon bucket, and the hopper design distributes mass to achieve
maximum stability without adding weight. Horizontally ribbed rollers provide a more uniform particle size by synchronously feeding grain through the mill. And by drawing grain through the mill
without piercing it, this slotted design preserves the delicate grain
husk to allow a finer crush than knurled rollers without sacrificing
spargeability. Dual gap adjustment enables maximal fine tuning for
a highly customizable, perfect crush and consistent lauter performance. Intuitive adjustment knobs feature hash marks to indicate distinct, repeatable gap settings while eliminating the
need for feeler gauges in lining up the rollers. Dimples
anchor the set screws in place to ensure a secure
gap setting, and the drive shaft is equipped with
three large flats to fit securely in the chuck of
any 3/8" or larger electric drill.
Assembled Dimensions:
14” x 14” x 17.5”
Rollers: OD 40mm, Stainless Steel
Gaps: Adjustable from .025” to .090”

BREWERY ESSENTIALS
ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT FOR BREWING EXCELLENCE
SANITATION
A. Refractometers
INSTANTLY READ THE GRAVITY
OF UNFERMENTED WORT OR MUST
A refractometer uses the refraction of light through a prism
to determine the gravity of a sample, either in Brix or Specific
Gravity (SG). Wort, beer, juice, or must can all be measured,
but will need to be corrected if the sample contains alcohol.
Unlike a hydrometer, only a few drops are required. To use,
apply 2–3 drops to the prism face, close the cover, and look
through the eyepiece while aiming the refractometer at
a light source.
PROPER SANITIZING IS THE KEY TO MAKING GOOD BEER
Whether in a brewery or in your house, wort is a perfect
growth medium for microorganisms that can contaminate a
batch. Sanitizing every surface that contacts beer or wort
after the boil reduces the microbe population to a point
where they can’t harm your homebrew.
Brix Refractometer
Our refractometers measure from 0-32° Brix, with an accuracy
of +/- 0.2° Brix. They also include automatic temperature
compensation for temperatures between 50-86° F.

close tabs on fermentation and calculate ABV%. You’ll also

the kit provides a copy of John Palmer’s excellent How To

CARBOY WASHER KIT

MARK’S KEG
WASHER (NO KIT)
(#40808)
Cleaning and sanitizing a big 5 or 6 gallon carboy can be an intimidating job — what if we told you it could be hands-free, and
could be done with just 1 gallon of solution instead of 5 or 6?
This keg and carboy washer will make clean-up a breeze.
The base is designed to accommodate common homebrewing
equipment while a submersible pump sprays cleaning solution
down the sides of the vessel. It sanitizes or cleans kegs,
carboys, buckets and greatly reduces time spent scrubbing
at fermentation residue. Hose barb attachments allow you to
continuously circulate cleaning solution through tubing and
the shallow basin accommodates small parts like airlocks
and stoppers. The Brewery Essentials Carboy Wash kit makes
this a reality — includes Mark’s Keg Washer, Saniclean, PBW, a
carboy brush, and a carboy dryer. Carboy not included.

Dead Ringer Ale
A NORTHERN BREWER CLASSIC
LEGENDARY!
10
OG: 1.064 / Ready: 6 weeks
This hoppy homage is a Dead Ringer for
one of the classics of the American IPA
style found right here in the Midwest. As
the middle coast, we tread somewhere
between the sweetness of the east coast
and the dryness of the west coast. The
result is what we like to call the North
Coast IPA, a bitter beer that strikes a
better balance of smooth malt and bold
hop flavor and aroma. This exquisite ale
is brewed exclusively with Centennial
hops throughout — they contribute the
firm, wonderfully fragrant hop character
that defines this beer. Floral citrus and
light fruity notes meld with rich caramel
to create an endearing and approachable
flavor that's certainly captured the hearts
of our customers.
#U1530 $44.99
Chinook IPA OG: 1.053 / Ready: 6 weeks
Chinook hops have long been popular with US
brewers for their robust bittering and intense,
resinous aroma and flavor. The lower gravity
and lighter body of this IPA reduce the aging
requirements while dramatically enhancing
the perceived bitterness and overall hoppiness
of the finished beer.
#U1480$34.99
Black IPA
OG: 1.075 / Ready: 6 weeks
The wild combination of assertive American
style IPA with dark roasty flavors and jet
black color throw all pretense at subtlety
right out the window. It delivers an ebony
pint with a beige head, surrounded by an
aromatic citrus-and-pine force field, backed
by a smooth roastiness redolent of cocoa and
French roast coffee.

American Wheat Beer OG: 1.043 / Ready: 4 weeks

Nut Brown Ale OG: 1.044 / Ready: 5 weeks
Our Nut Brown Ale is styled after southern English
brown ales, which tend to be a little darker, but
sweeter and lighter than their northern counterparts.
In the glass, it exhibits a deep copper color, with a
light fruity and caramelly flavor and aroma that has
notes of toast and chocolate.

Cream Ale OG: 1.040 / Ready: 5 weeks
An ale version of the light, fizzy American lager style,
cream ale is a specialty of the eastern US. Our Cream
Ale is medium-bodied and smooth, gold in color and
low in bitterness; the specialty grain blend adds
some complexity with a clean, sweet malt profile and
a hint of buttered toast in the aroma and flavor.

Dry Irish Stout OG: 1.042 / Ready: 6 weeks
This pub staple is famous for it’s fine balance of
roast, malt, and bitterness, with a smooth, creamy
body. Our kit has a pronounced roasty, coffee-like
flavor and aroma, imparted by a generous helping
of roasted barley. Just the right amount of hop
bitterness enhances the dryness, and the medium
body makes for a very drinkable dark beer.

character of a single malt and single hop.
This beer takes a clean, dry malt base, with a low
gravity for high drinkability, and piles on a healthy
dose of delicious hoppiness. Think of it as a way
to deliver maximum hop flavor and aroma in a
minimalist 4.5% ABV package.

Cascade Mountains West Coast Imperial IPA
OG: 1.086 / Ready: 6 weeks
Imperial IPA: hugely hoppy, with alcohol and malt to almost match. This is a beer about hops. Cascade takes
center stage, with its classic flavor and aroma combo of grapefruit and a dash of pine needles. Summit™ is the
bittering hop of choice, which imparts a hint of tangerine to round out the bold Cascade flavor. West coaststyle means it is dry and dangerously drinkabale — smooth, low-medium body, a faint undercurrent of booze.

There’s something to be said for the unique flavor
and profound provenance of the definitively Mexican
tequila. Here, we see tequila joining with the king of
the super-hoppy beer world, double IPA.
This DIPA uses a single hop aroma/flavor varietal,
Mosaic™ – it bears aromas of honeydew melon, crisp
citrus, and powerfully fruity late-summer berries. The
marriage of the two potent potables is astoundingly
brilliant — the tequila enhances Mosaic™’s natural
flavors and aromas, but brings it’s own spicy and
fruity character, for a pint muy delicioso.

Belgian Dubbel
OG: 1.062 / Ready: 2 months
Dating back to monastic breweries in the middle
ages, Dubbels are still produced at abbeys and
monasteries in Belgium. This kit yields an authentic
Trappist-style ale with a russet color, dense off-white
head, and a host of flavors and aromas—spices,

La Petite Orange
OG: 1.076 / Ready: 3 months
The next step up from Dubbel in the monastic beer
classification, Tripel is higher in alcohol than Dubbel

of clear candi sugar dilutes the malt bill, which
helps preserve the golden color and makes the body
deceptively light for a beer of this strength. Spicy and
fruity with a gentle sweetness and hints of alcohol
throughout leading to a dry finish. Recommended:

OG: 1.084 / Ready: 3 months
At a hefty 7.2% ABV and 93 IBU, Oasis is a big beer
with over-the-top hops and surprisingly sturdy malt
backbone. Definitely not a fruit-extract seasonal
shandy, this beer is meant to be enjoyed on the back
porch, the front porch, or even on the stoop.

The Plinian Legacy
O.G. 1.070 Ready: 6 weeks
Brewed with Simcoe®, Columbus, Centennial, and
Amarillo® – this quintessential double IPA is a homage
to the #1 beer in America (as voted by the AHA) and
one of the most sought after brews of the last decade. In true west coast style, this famously fragrant
Double IPA features an uncomplicated yet sturdy
malt backbone to which outlandish amounts
of hops are added. It has a fine balance
of malt, hoppy bitterness, and warming alcohol, with a fresh hop aroma
of floral, citrus, and pine. Bittered
with pure essence of hop, flavored with massive kettle additions, and featuring not one, but
two dry hoppings, it is the first
and last word when it comes to
the ultimate hoppy homebrew.
There is no need to stash this one
away as it is intended to be enjoyed
fresh, before the delicate hop aromas
fade. Get ready to experience the ultimate
lupulin threshold shift!

Honey Ale
An original recipe brewed by White House staff
and shared with the world as a Northern Brewer
kit. Built on a big foundation of malt with strong
tones of biscuit and toffee, White House Honey Ale
plays down hop bitterness and plays up the fruity
and caramelly aspect of English malt and yeast.
A late addition of pure honey is the signature
calling card of this recipe, imbuing a floral aroma
and lightening the body. Ale to the chief!

This original recipe brewed by White House

our Founding Fathers as well as an opportunity
to come together and share pints across the

common: homebrewing!

HOP HEAD FARMS MT. HOOD
With an alpha acid of 5-7%, Hop Head Farms’ Cascade hop is
instantly recognizable as having a grapefruit, floral aroma. The
hop is good for both flavor and aroma uses. It can also be used
for bittering effectively, and can be used to make a wide variety
of ales, and is characteristic of many American Pale Ales.
Named after the famous Oregon volcano, Mt. Hood is an aroma
variety that was bred from the German Hallertauer variety
and released in 1989 from the U.S.D.A. breeding program in
Oregon. It has clear similarities to German Hallertauer and
Hersbrucker, and is typically used in Pilsners, Bocks, Wheat,
Alt, and Helles beers. Strongly Aromatic, and great for Lagers!

THE PROS!
Ever wonder how professional brewers can produce perfectly bottle conditioned beer every time? Their secret is that, in addition to priming sugar, they add live, active yeast. Now you can use pro carbonation techniques
with our new Patent Pending Prime Dose tablets. Prime Dose combines
priming sugar and live yeast in a convenient capsule, in a dosage perfect
for homebrewing.
Prime Dose is effective in the treatment of many bottle-conditioning ailments ranging from inviable yeast, big beers with ABV too high for the original yeast to ferment any further, or poorly mixed priming solution. Given as
a measured dosage of two capsules without any further treatment, Prime
Dose goes straight into the bottle and gives consistent and repeatable levels of CO2 every time.
Packaged in a vegan, nutraceutical-grade capsule, Prime Dose is the culmination of a years worth of R&D effort. Tested and retested under various
conditions, with different recipes, the formula was finally deemed a success
by our Brewmasters.
A revolutionary cure for bottle conditioning complications, Prime Dose prevents debilitating scenarios such as a flat six pack of homebrew given as
a gift, showing up to a party with beer that winds up falling flat, or bottle
bombs from poorly mixed priming solution. Patent Pending.

Fruit Flavorings and Purees
Dry malt extract (DME) is syrup that has undergone
the extra step of dehydration. Besides concentrating it (1 lb of DME = 1.2 lbs of malt syrup), DME has
a longer shelf life and is much easier to measure
in small quantities, which makes it ideal for yeast
starters. At home, we always keep some DME on
hand in case a batch needs a little gravity boost in
the boil kettle.

YEAST
BRINGING BEER TO LIFE
Ale Yeast
What gives a Hefeweizen its distinct clove and
banana-like flavors? What makes lagers so
crisp and clean? Why are British Ales fruity
and complex? What gives a Belgian Dubbel
its wine-like overtones? The ingredient that
contributes all of these flavors is brewer’s
yeast.
Ale yeast ferments best from 60–70° F and is the easiest to work with. Some taste “clean”
while others are known for producing fruity esters.

Wheat Beer Yeast
Belgian Abbey II
The now famous Chico strain. This yeast is
probably the most widely used strain among
both home brewers and craft brewers. Used
for the production of many classic American
ales, this strain ferments dry and finishes
soft, smooth and clean, producing well
balanced ales. 1056 is a reliable fermenter,
tolerating a wide temperature range and is
very clean, especially when fermented at
the low end of its temperature range, allowing the clear expression of both hop and
malt flavors. It’s consistent performance and
neutral flavor profile make it a very popular
‘house’ yeast for many homebrewers.

in almost any beer style. It is extremely
versatile and accentuates hop flavors

Each bag of grain is processed to exacting standards.
Maillard Malts™ sets a new standard for crushing.
We process in very small batches, measuring by hand. Our grainery staff fills,
seals and labels every bag with a level of care unrivaled in homebrewing.
Our high-performance European-made grain mills feature dual-drive, large
diameter slotted rollers. These mills produce a consistent particle size so you get
a more uniform crush with a lower proportion of undercrushed grains and flour.
These mills also leave the husks more intact than traditional knurled, single drive
roller mills. A finer crush provides better extraction efficiency, without sacrificing
‘spargeability’.
Maillard Malts™ are packaged to preserve freshness.
Each bag is labeled with a “Fresh Packed” date to ensure the freshest malts in the
homebrew business.

MAKE YOUR OWN BEER!
ALL GRAIN BREWING IS STEEPED IN INSPIRATION AND INNOVATION
GRAIN MILLS
INVEST IN A LIFETIME OF BREWING FROM SCRATCH
UNLEASH YOUR FULL POTENTIAL
Captain Crush™
Captain Crush™ is engineered using premium materials: aluminum and
stainless steel thwart corrosion, oil impregnated sintered bronze bushings
require no maintenance, and smoked cast acrylic provides durability, easy
cleanup, and dashing good looks.
Optimizing form and function, a raised rim on the underside of the base
secures the Captain snugly atop any standard 5 or 6.5 gallon bucket, and
the hopper design distributes mass to achieve maximum stability without
adding weight. Horizontally ribbed rollers provide a more uniform particle
size by synchronously feeding grain through the mill. And by drawing grain
through the mill without piercing it, this slotted design preserves the delicate
grain husk to allow a finer crush than knurled rollers without sacrificing
spargeability. Dual gap adjustment enables maximal fine tuning for a highly
customizable, perfect crush and consistent lauter performance. Intuitive
adjustment knobs feature hash marks to indicate distinct, repeatable gap
settings while eliminating the need for feeler gauges in lining up the rollers.
Dimples anchor the set screws in place to ensure a secure gap setting, and
the drive shaft is equipped with three large flats to fit securely in the chuck
of any 3/ 8" or larger electric drill.

YEAST EQUIPMENT
A. 2000 mL Yeast Starter Kit
MAKE BETTER BEER—MORE YEAST CELLS!
The easiest, cheapest way to improve the overall quality of your
beer is to make a yeast starter! A yeast starter is simply a tiny
batch of beer brewed a day or so before the main batch to allow
the yeast cells to increase their population. It gives every cell
a chance to adjust to life outside the smack pack or vial before
you ask them to undertake the big job of turning gallons of wort
into gallons of beer.
Our yeast starter kit features a heat-resistant borosilicate glass
flask, which allows you to boil, cool, and ferment the starter
wort in the same vessel. Also includes a foam stopper, one
pound of DME, and complete instructions. 2000 mL starter kits
are typically used for double batches and high alcohol beers like
barleywines and tripels.
See how it’s done! Watch a video showing the process of
preparing a yeast starter from start to finish at

B. The Vortex Stir Plate
A.
MAKE BETTER BEER—A LOT MORE YEAST CELLS!
A stir plate is the fastest and most efficient way to get the most
out of a yeast starter.
By providing a steady trickle of oxygen and constant agitation,
a stir plate maximizes the yeast cell’s contact with wort, which
improves nutrient and sugar uptake, leading to increased
and rapid cell reproduction—even more yeast, faster. You can
achieve the same results of a 2 liter yeast starter with a 0.5 liter
starter on a stir plate!
Our stir plate is an exceptional value! On/off switch, adjustable
speed from 0-2000 rpm, 7” dia. and 1.5” tall, and includes a 1”
magnetic stir bar. Compatible with both our 1000 mL and 2000
mL yeast starter kits.
#40971 $99.99
C. Aeration System
MAKE BETTER BEER—GIVE YEAST SOME OXYGEN!
B.
C.
Yeast cells need to absorb oxygen to withstand the hard work of
fermentation, but boiling actually drives oxygen from the wort!
Our aeration system is a sanitary way to add vital oxygen back
to your wort. A pump forces air through an in-line HEPA filter
and then delivers it via a stainless steel diffusion stone, which
promotes rapid absorption into the wort.
#7862 $34.99
D. Oxygenation Kit
Dissolve high levels of O2 in your wort! Oxygenation with
compressed O2 and a diffusion stone gives a high level of
dissolved O2 much faster and more effectively than aeration
with an aquarium-style pump. Dissolved O2 in your wort means
healthier yeast, shorter lag phase, faster fermentation, lower
levels of fermentation byproducts like esters and diacetyl, and
lower terminal gravity. Needed but not included is a disposable
oxygen tank, available at hardware stores.

GLASS CARBOYS
PLASTIC FERMENTORS
CLASSIC, CLEAR AND WILL LAST A LIFETIME.
SHATTERPROOF, LIGHTWEIGHT AND EASY TO CLEAN
A. Big Mouth Bubbler™
H. The Bubbler ® Plastic Carboys:
When you put your brew in a fermentation vessel, your ONE expectation is that
it will stay clean and that your yeast will be able to eat happily without anything
funky going on. A strictly non-funky fermentation party. That’s it. But how can you
expect the cleanest and safest fermentation environment when you can’t even
scrub the bottle with your own two hands? This vessel was designed especially for
sanitizing and fermentation.
The Bubbler® represents a refined approach to a plastic fermentation vessel. We’ve
gone to the drawing board to focus on the important dimensions that help deliver
a more consistent and high-quality product. This is no plastic water jug; it’s a
carboy with details where they count.
The plastic is thick and durable, to ensure rigidity and safety during all kinds of
brewing operations. Free of plasticizers, BPA, DEHP, and any other extraneous
compounds, this Fermenter is purpose-built for your finest brews. Hydrophobic,
which means it is easy to clean without the use of brushes — it also retains no
odor, flavor, or color from batch to batch, so it will last a long time.
FANTASTIC PLASTIC AT A PERFECT PRICE
The easiest vessel to get clean & keep clean.
Designed for brewers—by brewers!
Brewing can be a messy business—but no more! Stick your arm in to clean the
entire inside with a swipe of the cleaning cloth. No need to use an inefficient
carboy brush to reach corners and curves. Enjoy total confidence that every hint of
bacteria is gone, protecting your investment in brewtime. The wide-mouth makes
it easy to add or remove ingredients. The screw top guarantees the top stays on
through fermentation.

CHILLERS
& PUMPS
Immersion Wort Chillers
COOL WORT FAST!
Putting your kettle in a sink full of ice is cheap and easy—and you get
what you pay for. A wort chiller is a big step up in efficiency—wort chillers
quickly cool wort from boiling to yeast pitching temps, saving you valuable
time on brew day.
Rapid chilling is essential to locking in that precious hop aroma and getting
a good cold break which will help you get clearer beer. Not to mention
reducing the potential for infection by shortening the time your beer sits in
the “danger zone”.
SAVE TIME, SAVE ENERGY,
MAKE BETTER BEER
A. Standard Wort Chiller — Copper
That rapid cooling pays off in the fermenter and the pint glass as well as
on the clock: the less time your wort spends between 180°F and fermentation temp, the narrower the window of opportunity for contamination by
bacteria and wild yeast. This minimizes formation of dimethyl sulfide (an inappropriate aroma in most styles of beer) and reduces haze. In a nutshell:
lower risk of contamination, “cleaner” flavors and aromas, and clearer beer!

Impeller Pumps
#40850$29.99
A high-temperature impeller pump makes any brew system more ergonomic,
safer, and logistically efficient. With a pump, you don’t need to depend
on gravity to transfer hot water or wort — your system can be laid out
horizontally instead of vertically for easy access to each vessel. A pump
makes it much harder to clog a plate chiller. When fitted with a ball valve, a
pump allows for hands-free wort recirculation and runoff.
C. Steelhead™ Pump
Our Steelhead™ Pump is a heavy-duty pump made of FDA-approved
materials to handle liquid up to 250°F. Powered by a 1/20 horsepower motor
to produce top-of-the-line flow and pressure, this pump has a durable
stainless steel head that resists breaking and cross-threading. Silicon o-ring
and housing design prevents leaking. Large 2 7/ 8” impeller design, full 1/2”
NPT inlet to prevent cavitation. Pre-wired with a four foot cord and a three
prong 115V plug.

™
C. The Governor®– Dual Gauge Regulator
The Governor®, dual gauge C02 regulator, is a requisite for consistent
flowing pints, preventing a foamy mess and eliminating keg hassle. Its
sturdy chrome plate body ensures endurance; it’s rubberized gauge
construction prevents gauge damage; it’s integrated pressure release valve
defies high pressure.
The Governor®’s gauge faces are easy to read: the 0-60 psi gauge displays
dispensing pressure and the 0-2000 psi gauge displays tank pressure. Its
large adjustment knob with locking ring allows gas flow to be changed
without the use of a screw driver. The combination shut-off and check
valve on the gas line allow you to instantly turn off the pressure to your
kegs without beer backing up into your gas line.

TEMPERATURE
CONTROL
Prevent yeast die off or too slow fermentation by using
homebrewing fermentation temperature controllers.
Knowing the fermentation temperature is the one of the
most important ways to insure a healthy environment
for your yeast, dramatically improving your homebrew.
A. Digital Temperature Controller
This Digital Temp Controller operates by overriding the internal
thermostat in a refrigerator or freezer and gives the brewer greater
control over the fermentation. It features a digital display with
adjustable differential.
It can be used to heat or cool a fermentation environment — when
hooked up to a refrigerator, it turns the compressor on when the
ambient temperature rises above your programmed temperature;
when hooked up to a heater, it activates when the temperature
drops too low. A sensor probe monitors the temperature inside while
the readout displays it in either Fahrenheit or Celsius.
Features a wide setpoint temperature range (-30° F to 220° F) and
differential adjustment (1° F to 3° F). The temperature sensor is a
1.94 inch thermistor on an 8 foot cable.
THE TRUE SECRET TO GREAT BEER
#40090$79.99
B. Analog Refrigerator Thermostat
Runs on a standard 120V outlet. Analog dial, setpoint temperature
between 30 and 80°F, with 1 degree increments. Fixed 3 1/2 degree
differential— the thermostat will shut the compressor off (stop
cooling) at 3 1/2 deg below the setpoint and start the unit (resume
cooling) once internal air temperature exceeds the setpoint.
#7051$56.99
C. Electric Fermentation Heater
The Electric Fermentation Heater can be attached to a fermenter
to raise the temperature of fermenting beer or wine. The EFH can
be attached to a glass, plastic, or steel fermenter using electrical
tape and plugged into a 110V outlet; for optimum results, use in
conjunction with an electronic temperature controller.

performance, solid stand design, and all-stainless construction, this is a lifetime burner that's also a pleasure to use.
Powering out 72,000 BTU/hr with clean low-flame combustion
(won't blacken the bottom of your kettles like other burners),
outstanding wind performance, this is a burner you'll be
brewing on for years to come.

someday add it to your future Blichmann TopTier™ system!

Made for use in Blichmann BoilerMaker™ kettles,
this innovative screen filters out up to 95% of your
kettle hops without clogging. Features two stages of
filtration, the first a coarse filter that draws liquid
from above the level of the hop sediment, and the
second a fine filter for the thick liquid at the bottom
of the kettle. Simply whirlpool your wort, drain until
you get close to the bottom, and then pull up the
screen using a hook to engage the fine filter.

F. Therminator™
The original homebrew plate chiller boasts the most gallons of
cooled wort! The Therminator™ is the fastest way to chill your wort
to yeast pitching temperature and get your fermentation off to a
quick, bacteria-free start.
A scaled-down version of the chillers you'll see in commercial
breweries, the Therminator™ is ultra-compact (8" x 4" x 3") but can
chill 10 gallons of wort from boiling to pitching temperature within
5 minutes using 58°F cooling water. This super-efficient chiller uses
less water than any other chiller on the market!
The plates and fittings are all 316 stainless, brazed with copper in
an oxygen-free furnace for no chance of leaks. Water-side fittings
are garden hose thread, and the wort-side fittings are 1/2" male NPT
thread, making them compatible with a wide range of barbs and
disconnects to suit your brewhouse. While pumping wort through a
Therminator™ with our Steelhead™ Pump (see back cover) works like
a dream, its tremendously low restriction lets it work problem-free
in a gravity-fed system as well.

OG: 1.070 / Ready: 6 weeks
What stands here before you is the result of a quest to brew an
outstanding IPA loaded with hoppy citrus and malty caramel.
Initially inspired by a richly malty DIPA, it's scaled down to
regular IPA strength, but holds onto the big hop presence.
Centennial enhances and sharpens the citrusy edge of Cascade,
and an over the top dry hop gives it a fantastically heady aroma.
Numerous test batches have led to just the right amount of toasty
caramel flavor to complement the hops. The result of this epic
journey speaks for itself — a wonderfully balanced IPA that has a
noticeable caramel malt backbone, and a fresh citrusy hop profile
with a huge, in your face aroma.

Highrise IPA
O.G. 1.070 ⁄ Ready: 6 weeks
We’ve formulated this Incredible IPA around our
exclusive Super Structure malt blend for IPAs. It
provides the perfect backdrop to balance the bracing
bitterness while highlighting the heady hop flavors of
this American style IPA. This hop tower of power is an
over the top IPA with its head in the clouds, existing
somewhere in that foggy area between IPA and IIPA.
Here’s the breakdown: Warrior for clean bittering,
Centennial for that classic floral/citrus flavor, and
finished with a 1–2 punch of Citra® and Simcoe®
for an intense hop finish that covers a wide range
of flavors and aromas – from earthy and piney to
bright and fruity. The Superstructure malt extract
performs just as designed, bringing malt complexity
and depth of flavor without distracting from the hops.
Recommended 2-stage fermentation and yeast starter.

Ace of Spades
Black IPA
O.G. 1.068 ⁄ Ready: 6 weeks
Feeling Lucky? Then ante up and get in on the biggest
game in town… Ace of Spades Black IPA. This is no
ordinary homebrew.
The deck is stacked with a whole lotta hops. Four of
a kind, in fact—Magnum, Chinook, Centennial and
Citra®. And get ready for the bluff, because this brew
drinks lighter than it appears. You won’t find roasted
coffee or bittersweet chocolate here, just smooth
malty caramel with a touch of toast, and an intense
hop presence with pine, citrus and fruity notes that
stand no chance of getting lost in the shuffle.
Play your cards right? There’s no way to play them
wrong with this kit. Any way you brew it, you’ll be
coming up aces.
