This town hall-style panel is an opportunity for Phillips Exeter and the greater community to listen to
and ask questions about some of the most pressing stories of our time, those in which Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr. likely would have been deeply engaged. Sandra Guzman, award-winning multimedia
journalist and interviewer (PBS’s American Masters Series, The Women’s List), will moderate this
panel comprised of: Dr. Sami Atif, Instructor in Mathematics, will discuss Islamophobia; Jamelle
Bouie, writer for Slate and a CBS contributor, will discuss the Black Lives Matter movement and the
legacy of Katrina; Darby Henry ‘13, will discuss life at the crossroads at Exeter and her personal
realization while at Yale; and Lorella Praeli, DREAMer and immigration activist, will discuss the
climate of immigration reform in the United States.
