He has coached Smart Start basketball,

“Aviano Youth Programs stepped up and
offered East Junior Girls Softball with less
than three weeks prep time allowing the
tournament to take place when the Army
Garrison fell through. They prepped for
the upcoming summer programming

providing various camps for children,
adolescents and teens (68-83 per week)
for the next 10 weeks. The AYP prepared
a talking paper on the impact and various
solutions to support the possible early
weekly school closures for next school year.
They hit it out of the park when Aviano
Elementary had an emergency closure
due to a fire. All staff stepped up and
were willing to come on early to ensure
the children, adolescents and teens had a
safe place to go. Youth Programs changed
housing plans for the softball and baseball
adolescents due to the school closure
without missing a beat! And they offered a
GLOW Run in support of America’s Armed
Forces Kids Run.”

on Friday,
July 10 my
sister and I
boarded the ITT bus for our
8-hour journey to the French
Riviera. We were joined by
a mixed group of peoplefamilies, single Airmen,
and deployed spouses like
myself- all looking for a
relaxing weekend in the south
of France. Both of us quickly
fell asleep and before we
knew it we were stopping
for breakfast by the French
border. After a cappuchino
and brioche we were able
to change and freshen up.
Then we boarded the bus
to continue our journey to
our first stop, the Fragonard
perfume factory in Eze.
At the perfume factory our
guide taught us about the
perfume-making process
and the difference between
perfume, eau de parfum
and eau de toilette. After the
tour we were able to sample
their products and purchase
items at a discounted cost.
My sister and I each bought
a few bottles of our favorite
scents, Etoile and Belle
Chérie, and their Royal Jelly
Face Cream. Before getting
back on the bus to drive
to Cannes we took a short
hike up to an overlook with
a breathtaking view of the
Mediteranean sea.
