Introduction
algonix by medilab is the latest innovation of the most advanced technology in pain management, injury and
trauma rehabilitation representing two decades of biomedical design and engineering. It is designed for precise
treatment of the most difficult injury and trauma cases facing today’s clinician, including a wide variety of
muscle and connective tissue problems.
There are many different disciplines in the vast field of electro-physical technology. Their conjunctive
relationship is the natural electrical current operating within the body. The difference between each discipline is
the method of approach to the body with respect to the administration of current. algonix by medilab analyses the
bioelectrical condition of the treated tissue areas and conducts a pain and trauma therapy by means of a
biocybernetic process.
algonix by medilab is not only a term, but a technology that grew out of the expansive field of neurophysiology.
Modern medical science acknowledges multiple processes in the body that are electrical. Every cell in the body
can be seen as an “electrical generator” which generates electrical currents. These currents are measured often in
the skin (EDR), the brain (EEG), the heart (EKG), and the muscles (EMG). The algonix by medilab technology
works hand in hand with these currents.
algonix by medilab stimulates the production of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP), which is stored cellular energy
that allows a cell to function. This in turn triggers the body’s natural bio-chemical healing process. This process
allows intracellular fluids to be restored, electrolyte levels to be replenished and nutrients to be absorbed. algonix
by medilab further stimulates intracellular calcium which strengthens the cellular balance and healing. Amino
acid transport is increased, as well as protein synthesis, which assists in tissue repair. Blood circulation and
lymphatic flow are boosted. These vital functions are increased five fold with this technology to promote
optimum healing and regeneration of cells and tissue. algonix by medilab thus speeds up the repair of tendons
and bones, the edema absorption and the repair of tissue wounds with anti-bacteria effects.
algonix by medilab uses a very low amperage current, it works with between 35 to 600 µA (millionth ampere).
Usually the patient does not feel any pain during the treatment with algonix by medilab.
The operator uses the equipment with specifically designed and included probes. Adopted for muscle reeducation, the algonix by medilab technology also allows physicians to tone and lift up face and body muscles.
Furthermore, pre- and post-operation treatments permit a quicker recovery (up to 100% quicker than normally)
and, according to different situations, scars and inflammations will be considerably reduced.

Preparing the patient for the treatment
1.
Inform your patient about the contraindications for the algonix by medilab treatment and make sure none of
the contraindications apply to him or her. Otherwise DO NOT treat the patient!
2.
Ask the patient to drink two litres of fluid (mineral water, isotonic drinks and herbal teas) before, during and
after their treatment course. Give him or her a glass of water to drink.
3.
Ask the patient to remove all jewellery and metal before the treatment.
4.
Ask your client to undress the body part to be treated.
5.
Ask your patient to provoke the pain and to indicate the point which hurts the most.
6.
Clean the patients´ skin on the area to be treated with a wet, warm towel and dry the skin. This removes
body creams, oils and natural skin secretions that may hinder the effectiveness of the treatment. If you are
going to perform a treatment in the face region, make sure the face is cleansed of all make-up and face
creams. If necessary, remove hair from the area to be treated.
7.
Apply electrolyte CEL 144 on the complete area to be treated. This decreases the interface impedance
between the probes and the skin and skin irritations can be avoided. Applying the right electrolyte is crucial
since one of the most important aspects for algonix by medilab treatments to be successful is creating a good
interface between the probes and the patients skin.

Differentiation of probes
1.
Differentiation according to the amount of poles:
• unipolar probe
When using this type of probe, the circuit is completed through a backplate probe (hand bar). The current runs
from the unipolar probe through the patient to the backplate probe.
Probes of this category:
Trigger probe general purpose, indifferent probe
• bipolar probe
When using this type of probe the circuit is completed through two poles, integrated in one probe. The current
runs from pole 1 of the bipolar probe through the patient to pole 2.
Probe of this category:
Large double roller
2.
Differentiation according to connection:
• Pin plug socket
Probes with this type of connection are attached via red/blue cable and spiral cable respectively.
Probes of this category:
Indifferent probe, large double roller
• Mini-DIN plug
Probes with this type of connection are attached via black DIN cables with microphone plug.

Electrolyte
Using the electrolyte CEL 144 is crucial to obtain the electro-chemical processes needed for the treatment with
algonix by medilab. It was especially designed to provide the ideal interface between probe and tissue.
Due to horny layers and dead skin cells the interface between probe and tissue has a very low conductivity.
Applying the electrolyte CEL 144 allows the current to bypass horny layer, avoid polarization and increase
conductivity.
The electrolyte CEL 144 was compared to other similar products on the market. These are the results:

The electrolyte for algonix by medilab is multifunctional. It
a)
keeps the probe potential stable
b) avoids “noise” under probes
c)
provides optimum coupling with equipment input impedance
d) removes condenser effect from the probes
The electrolyte CEL 144 consists of the following components
(in diminishing quantity order, according to INCI-EU):
ƒ
AQUA
ƒ
CETEARYL ALCOHOL
ƒ
CITRUS AURANTIUM
ƒ
AMYLASE
ƒ
PHOSPHOLOPIDIS, ETHYL LINOLEATE
ƒ
PEG 10
ƒ
SODIUM CHLORIDE, POTASSIUM SORBATE
ƒ
SODIUM CARBOMER
ƒ
ASCORBIC ACID
ƒ
DAUCUS CAROTA & PROPYLENE GLYCOL
ƒ
METHYLPARABEN
ƒ
POTASSIUM CLHLORIDE
ƒ
SOLUM FULLONUM
ƒ
GINGKO BILOBA
ƒ
PRUNUS DULCIS
Why CEL 144 is obligatory
The algonix by medilab system will only work correctly with the electrolyte CEL 144. Using different
electrolyte gels can increase or decrease the average width of responding signals and create a non-desired
potential difference. This can cause distorted waves destroying all or part of the treatment benefits. A different
gel or diluted electrolyte can lead to a non-linear transfer signal, introducing new resistance and reactions. When
reading data, algonix by medilab will encounter different impedances, not linked to pathology, but to particular
physiological gel characteristics. This will result in harmful therapy results.

Appendix B – Guidelines for algonix treatments
This guideline is not written to make remote diagnoses, suggest therapies or give recommendations. Rather, it
explains some general procedures, which came from our experience and which are supposed to give a better
understanding of the treatment plan with algonix.
1.
2.
3.
4.
At the beginning of the treatment, locate and quantify the pain or discomfort. That means: You may have to
ask the patient to provoke the pain, for example by movement or touch. Then ask the patient to indicate the
point which hurts the most (maximum pain point). Tell your patient to quantify the pain before and after the
treatment on a scale of 1 to 10 (for example by using the algonix pain questionnaire).
Apply electrolyte CEL 144 to the complete area which is to be treated. Afterwards carry out slow motions
with both of the 5 ¼ tip probes or the double roller. In doing so, you must never loose skin contact. Apply as
much pressure with the probes as is tolerable for the patient.
Next to the selection of the program the selection of the intensity is the most important thing. Always start
the treatment with maximum intensity. The patient should at most feel a slight prickle, under no
circumstances must the treatment be unpleasant. Otherwise you have to reconsider and readjust the scheme
of the program, the program, the intensity or the localization.
Position the indifferent probe (blue cable) on the maximum pain point or on the pathological tissue
identified by diagnosis. Position the active probe (black cable) on a point a few centimetres apart from the
maximum pain point and repeat this procedure with several points around the pain area. In doing so you
must never loose skin contact.
As the case may be, the following programs can be used singly or in combination (one after the other).
For pain of solely muscular origin please select one of the programs listed below or a combination of several of
them.
Treatment Objective -> General - Specific Event Range III
For general treatment and treatment of acupuncture points
Treatment Objective -> Spasmolysis–Smooth Muscle Of The Arterial And Venous Blood Vessels
For better blood circulation
In the case of neuronal problems, such as numbness or paresthesia, you may additionally select the program
Treatment Objective -> General - Specific Event Range III
as well as the program
Treatment Objective -> Restoration Of Polarization Of The Nerves (Sweep -18y).
algonix cannot remedy dystopias of bones or abnormalisms. But the aftereffects, such as irritations of muscles
and nerves, can be treated. Often, ligaments are affected as well. In these cases select:
Treatment Objective -> Tonification Of The Elastic Fibers (Sweep 33)
Specific Treatment Focus On Musculoskeletal Problems G1-> (Sweep ~11y)
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
medilab research + trading GmbH&Co., Wuerzburg
- 25-
m e d i l a b
__________________________________________________________________
If old age or a former accident can be the cause for pain, select:
Treatment Objective -> Reduction Of Incipient Degeneration Process (Sweep 31)
Treatment Objective -> General – Specific Event Range Q-2
In most cases an inflammation can be an additional cause for pain, although signs for an inflammation may be
missing. In this case the experience of a physician will be helpful. If you suspect an inflammation, you could
select the following program:
Treatment Objective -> Reduction Of The Inflammatory Process (Sweep 21)
For traumas, you may select the following program:
Specific Treatment For Injuries To The Joints Contusion & Distortion (Sweep 32)
The program
Treatment Objective -> Circular Spinner Method
may – among other problems – be used for dysregulations of the autonomous nervous system
(Treatment Objective -> Circular Spinner Method -B- Medium)
Treatment Objective -> General – Specific Event Range Q-1
Either for muscular traumas or for myalgias caused by reflexive spasms.
Treatment Objective -> General – Specific Event Range Q-2
Can be applied best in cases of pain due to immobility or in rest periods after mobility or at night. Especially, if
the patient also reports muscular fatigue and cramps.
It must be stressed, that the success of the treatment depends on the right combination of program, intensity and
localization. The treatment with algonix will certainly be the more efficient, the more precise the diagnosis is.
However, should the origin of the pain be unknown, you can find the right therapy in collaboration with the
patient – as described above – by trying different programs. In the process you have to ask the patient as to when
he feels a pleasant and tolerable sensation. As soon as the treatment starts to become unpleasant for the patient
the intensity must be reduced until the patient only feels a slight sensation again. If this is not possible, you need
to change the program. In rare cases certain points may be reacting over-sensitive. Move to a non-sensitive spot
in the proximity then.
Below you will find several diagnoses and possible treatment programs, which developed from our daily
experience. Please bear in mind that these are only examples. As described above, the suitable program should
be selected with the collaboration of therapist, patient and algonix.
Headache (cervicocephal)
Treatment Objective -> General – Specific Event Range III
Specific Treatment Focus On Musculoskeletal Problems G1 -> (Sweep ~11y)
Should the neck muscles be tense, employ also
Treatment Objective -> General – Specific Event Range Q-1
Depending on the diagnosis, further programs for headaches can be selected from the program list.
