David James and BIG RIVER
British Columbia
Country
David James is one of the world’s leading, most convincing tribute artists in the
music business. Most tribute bands consciously try to look, act and sound like
their idols. Dave doesn’t have to try. A living prodigy to one of history’s true phenomenon, he is Almost . . . . . Johnny Cash. Born on a small farm in Alberta, Dave
was exposed to Country and Western music at the beginning of and throughout his
childhood. His father, Gabe, made it his mission to introduce Dave to artists he referred to as “the real deal”. The King of them all was, of course, Johnny Cash! Some
things are just meant to be. Armed with that “God-given” rich, deep voice, naturally
gifted with the ability to impersonate, and married to his acoustic guitar, Dave has
found his destiny.

Red Moon Road
Manitoba
Country/Folk
Born in a storm on a wild Canadian lake, Red Moon Road
came into its own on trails
coast to coast to coast. All
credit goes to the chemistry,
and to the magic that happens
when the Winnipeg band’s
two Daniels – jazz-trained
Daniel Jordan and bilingual
progressive-rock vet Daniel
Peloquin-Hopfner – strum up
the strings (Mandolin Banjo
and Guitar) to support twilightvoiced singer Sheena Rattai.
From living rooms to theatres
to folk fest stages, the personable trio has charmed fans from British Columbia to Nova Scotia with their
lush and lively take on modern roots, peppered by bright stage banter and
masterfully told stories.

Crooked Brothers
Manitoba
Back Porch Blues/Scrap Yard Funk
Their blend of timeless country classic sounds, back porch blues and stomping
scrap yard funk has gained the attention of many folk festival and roots music fans
both live and on their carefully crafted albums. A good dance, a good cry, it’s all
here. Music full of hips and heart. Slinky throbbing bass lines and growling melodies, or a heartache stripped and unadorned. The diversity in instrumentation and
vocal arrangements are the vanguard of The Crooked Brothers’ art.
