Hello folks!
Lambretta, alongside its sister Vespa, the Lambretta is one of the most
renowned Vintage scooters.
SIP Exclusive Parts Few scooters types have been built in larger numbers. The Lambretta
is the brainchild of Ferdinando Innocenti and a product of post-World
War II Europe. In close cooperation with Cesare Pallavicino, Ferdinando
created a prototype named Lambretta, deriving its name from the river
Lambro near the Milano-based factoy.
Racing Cylinder
At the beginning, various models were designed and built by the
company Innocenti. Later on, licence vehicles such as the NSU in Germany
or the Spanish Serveta came into being around the world. In 1971,
production in Italy was stopped. Scooter India Ltd bought all production
machinery in 1972 and continued to produce the DL models until the
1990s. In 2011, the new Lambretta LN was unveiled by Motom Electronics
Group at the Italian EICMA trade fair. It was introduced into the market
in 2012 with 125cc/150cc engines.

Speedometer SIP
Understatement is our business - a real hottie, the SIP Rev Counter is the
new scooter dream tool - rev counter and speedometer in one, with an
original appearance that defies comparison.
SIP, working together with a high end instrument company, developed
this daring piece of equipment designed to carry the original style to
new technical heights. For example, the face of this analog instrument is
done in typeface with the km/h display virtually in the same position as
the original. Measurements show up to 12.000 rpm‘s, scaling is 100 x revs
per min. Analog, and for exact displays, also digital. The display is a Black
Edition version and practically invisible when the motor is off.
The following information is shown highly visible:
• speeds up to 199 km/h or 125 mph
• temperatures up to 250° C for cylinder head or water temperature,
a temperature sensor for spark plugs is included in delivery
• Driving time
The first high end instrument to combine speedometer and rev
counter with original optics. Whether on the race track, on extended tours

Quick and easy installation. Speed measurements are made in the
same manner as the original, requiring no additional sensors. Data
reception can also be directed through the lighting. The SIP rev counter
can be installed in the same manner as original speedometers. All
data is recorded on internal database. Speedometer functions on 12V
AC/DC. No batteries required! Can be connected to Vespatronic and
Parmakit ignition. Adjustment and display changes are easily carried out
through just a tip of the finger on the button, which can be mounted
inconspicuously on or under the light switch.

Tyre SIP Performer
A tyre should have excellent traction in dry conditions and also give a
solid feeling when riding in the wet, be long lasting, look good and not
cost the earth. We have been careful to consider all of these factors in
our SIP Performer tyre and according to the feedback we have received
so far from you, our customers, we have been successful!
Development:
This tyre has been developed after we contacted a long established OE
industry tyre manufacturer and we combined our efforts to produce,
extensively test and have this tyre homologated for road use. They
have a pronounced sporting feel to them, with excellent grip in the dry
combined with dependable handling characteristics in wet conditions.
Technology:
These tyres are ‚L‘ rated, which means they are type approved for use at
speeds up to 120 km/h (75 mp/h) which should satisfy the tuners amongst
us, as well as the legal eagles. The supplementary ‚Reinforced‘ rating has
been include to reassure those not completely fluent with the meaning
of all current, almost hieroglyphic, tyre sidewall markings. This means
that this tyre can be safely used with both conventionally tubed wheels
and more modern tubeless wheel systems. We have also included a Tyre
Wear Indicator in the form of notches slightly raised from the bottom of
the tread profile. To locate these indicator notches is noted on sidewall
with the letters TWI.

This tyre model possesses the latest E4 EU homologation rating which
also allows their use with newer models of scooter. Long life is ensured
by the extra deep tyre profile with an almost unbeatable value for
money!

The SIP Special Packs are pre-mounted wheel assemblies available with
the SIP tubeless type wheels. The wheels are delivered ‚ready to roll‘ and
make ideal spare wheels should you not already have one.

Designed according to the Lambretta original rims, the
SIP Tubeless rim has a double-hump, safety bead and a modified bolt-on
air valve. The hump on the side of the rim stops the tire coming off the
rim during pressure loss. With this innovation you can finally use tires
without tubes. In case of a puncture, it is highly unlikely that you will
experience a sudden deflation that is typical of a tyre fitted with an inner
tube. Instead the air pressure will often decrease far more slowly in a
tubeless tyre, which of course makes the scooter easier to control. You
will never again have a pinched tube or suffer a valve tearing off the thin
rubber walls of an inner tube.
Thanks to CNC technology this is a high quality product. Each Wheel
goes through an elaborate safety control, first of all a visual check and
then a technical control. That is the only way we can provide you with
the top quality all the time. The rims are produced after the ETRTO
(European Tyre and Rim Technical Organisation) standards for tire and
rim productions.

Tino Sacchi presents with the Mugello V2 186cc a cylinder kit, that is
similar in design to the TV 175 barrel apart from the extra boost port.
It is suitable as a replacement for your worn existing cylinder on Series
1-2 “smallblock” motors, but also lends itself to the more ambitious
road tuning projects. The same is also true of its “Big Brother”. The
Mugello V1 200 / 225cc cylinder kits are based on the GP 200 cylinder
set up and are without a doubt a serious alternative to stage 4 tuned
200cc cylinders. The Mugello harmonise excellently with the standard
carburettors (DELLORTO SH 18-22) and the exhaust units but can also
be successfully incorporated setups including lager carbs and an exhaust
systems.

Fitting a big bore 200cc cylinder to your „small block“ motor? No
problem! LAMBRETTA tuning legend Tino Sacchi has an extremely tasty
item available in the form of the Imola Racing Cylinder. In Combination
with a 28mm carburettor and an Ancillotti exhaust system the Imola kit
produces approx. 16 PS, equivalent to a Vespa T5 model equipped with
an unported 172cc cylinder. This can improved dramatically with the use
of a reed valve manifold, ensuring a greater volume of fuel/air mixture
to be available, so enhancing power, especially in the lower end and the
middle of the rev. range. If you think cubes are cool, then you cannot
go wrong with a long stroke crankshaft with 62mm stroke on the small
block motor to reach 200cc with the added incentive of a possible 20 PS!

offers you a valid and tuneable alternative to the long established TS1
kit. The Monza is not only outwardly familiar in appearance it is also

We at SIP Scootershop have enjoyed a very close friendship, over many
years, with Jim Lomas who is responsible for the development and/
or production of virtually every successful expansion chamber exhaust
system developed in Europe. At the SIP opening day we discussed the
marketing of his handmade LAMBRETTA pipes. The result of this meeting
is that we can now offer 6 variations of the LAMBRETTA version of the
SIP Performance pipes from the KRP1 Road use for everyday scootering
through to the maximum performance orientated “JL Race” naturally
in the usual high JL-quality. All pipes are mounted exactly using hard
plastic spacers. This makes the whole system more flexible so avoiding
unnecessary damage to the exhaust itself.
JL KRP1 “Road use” This system was designed especially for lower states
of tune and fits on OE cylinders between 125-200cc as well as TS1 kits
with the adapter included with this exhaust. This torque orientated
version delivers power over the whole revrange and so enables easier
gear changing at lower revs.
To exploit the full potential of this exhaust system the use of a
tuning cylinder such as the TS1 or the MONZA etc. is necessary. A carb.
of 30 mm or larger and a MEC EUR racing crankshaft completes the ideal
performance setup. A larger main jet and an adjusted ignition timing are
absolutely necessary for optimal and reliable use of this exhaust system.

cylinder and enables the magical 10000rpm to be reached (and even
breached)
The quarter mile version for the more extreme port timing
setups. True rpm monster, that can also function fine in everyday traffic
situations.

JL KRP3 “fast road use/half race use” Power and performance. The
KRP3 represents an updated and performance enhanced replica of the
legendary “TAFFSPEED MK3”. The extra horses allow an authentic race
feeling in everyday road situations. The crowds favourite, it fits all motors
from 125-200cc, as do all pipes in the KRP range, and delivers its power
over the whole of the revrange.

Carburettor DELL`ORTO VHST/H 24-30 Flat Slide
The technically refined DELL‘ORTO VHS flat slide carburettors are
considerably better than the straightforward drum carburettors and
therefore improve the performance and effectiveness of the engine. The
deciding factor in this case is the (double) slide design: On a flat, square
design, the projecting edges of the drum carburettor are omitted. Due
to the straight tear-off edge of the flat slide it is possible to achieve a
smooth, streamlined air passage and therefore a superior cylinder fill.

Tuning Intake Manifold / Carburettor / Crankshaft
Crankshaft
The crankshaft is one of the most heavily used components on a scooter.
It turns several thousands of times per minute, and the performance of
an engine depends on its quality. Minimum production tolerances, high
rev endurance, low bearing clearance and exceptionally high durability of
the crankshaft are the basis for optimum engine tuning. For this reason
we only offer crankshafts that are made in Italy and which convince
through their uncompromising levels of quality.
The standard crankshafts have a stroke of 58mm and a 107 series
con-rod. The TV175 is fitted as standard with the 116 series con-rod.
Replacing the original 107mm with a 110m con-rod is possible in order
to make the engine run more quietly. The longer stroke is balanced out
by a 3mm base gasket. The lighter racing crankshafts have a polished
con-rod which contributes to reducing turbulence. When using a full
circle crankshaft, the charge level and primary compression increase (for
this reason we use the designation HPC = high primary compression).
In combination with a long stroke of 60 or 62mm this results in further
torque and also boosts performance. Both types of crankshaft are
specially designed for peak performance and are also made from
extremely high quality and hard wearing material. This means they are
optimal for engines and high performance setups.
In contrast to the Vespa, the cone for the Lambretta is only available in
two versions which can be swapped with each other. The larger cone
(measured directly after the oil seal seat) was originally only in the
engine of the DL/GP, the smaller cone on all the other models tapers
directly after the oil seal seat to 21mm. Under high pressure and/or a
high numbers of revs, however, enormous forces impact on the entire
cone, which the small point of the 21mm cone is not always able to
reliably withstand. As a rule, the following applies here: the thicker the
cone, the more stable and/or more suitable for tuning purposes.
With powerful engines it is important to use a crankshaft with
a thick DL/GP cone. Order the oil seal and bearings at the same time!

Clutch Plates
A clutch is not just one part of the engine, it is likely to be the most
important part as it transmits the power between crankshaft and
gearing. In order to be able to transmit more power, you need more
friction within the clutch. Stronger springs will provide more contact
pressure, more clutch plates will result in an enlarged frictional surface.
Do not forget gearbox oil for an overnight soak before assembly!

Clutch Basket Circlip
The clutch basket circlip is one of the more important peripheral clutch
parts and should be carefully checked for wear and tear during every
clutch inspection or service and if necessary, replaced. If the circlip is
twisted or weakened it can cause the whole clutch assembly to come
apart at high speed, with potentially disastrous results for the rest of
your gearbox.

What types of tyres are there?
As scooter tyres are sold in different finishes by a number of
manufacturers we have made a selection in order to cater for individual
requirements. We have put together the crème de la crème of tyres and
divided them into the following classes:
All-Weather:
Sport:
For all-season drivers who are not put off by bad
weather. These tyres have been especially designed for
all times of the year (except for winter). You should not
be misled by the sporty profile. What´s crucial here is
the mixture. Our tip for everyday riders.
An absolute must for the sporting street fighter. The
somewhat softer mixture compared to the classic or allweather tyres gives the sports tyres unbelievable grip
on the road. Particularly great on tours when the next
winding road is calling!
Classic:
Whitewall tyres:
These all-weather tyres perfectly finish off the look
of your vintage scooter! Thanks to the classic comb
profile, you not only get the nostalgic look but also a
thoroughly good grip.
Similar to the classic tyres, the whitewall tyres also
contribute to the retro look of the scooter. However,
not just with the classic profile but also partly with the
sportier or all-weather profile. The tyres are supplied
with a protective layer.
Race:
Winter:
These are highly suited for races on dry tracks as a slick or
semi-slick profile. Due to the various mixtures, the racing
tyres are created for all kind of occasions. There are also
the racing rain tyres for rain days which offer better
characteristics on the wet track thanks to their profile.
The law has prescribed winter tyres for motorbikes and
scooters since December 2010 (in Germany). For anyone
who can´t resist driving their scooter even in winter, we
have a wide range of winter tyres in stock from various
manufacturers and in various sizes.

Shock Absorber, front&rear
The BITUBO YDB suspension consists of two gas pressure shock absorbers
and fits most of the Lambretta models/steering columns. The spring
preload is easily continuously adjustable via a knurled screw. BITUBO
does not supply a Plug&Play solution here, however. The lower forkshock absorber attachment has to be distanced on the original fork with
bushing. For the great result you get, the cost is low.
For the rear, we stock high quality CARBONE shocks. Other shock
absorbers were fitted to the 125 LI/150 LI/175 TV models from the 3rd
series onwards. That´s why we distinguish between the 1st and 2nd series
and the 3rd series with these products.

Brake Shoes
The “AntiAQUA” shoes from NEWFREN are highly recommended. These
were originally developed for the area of off-road use. To be able to
guarantee the best possible performance of the brake shoes, grooves
have been constructed into the surface of the shoes, which remove
moisture and dirt from the drum and also result in the superior cooling
of the pad.
Please note: Brake pads only have their full braking effect if they have
been worn into the brake drum. Bear this in mind over the initial
kilometers and brake more frequently and deliverately.

We are conveniently situated only 2 minutes from the A96 (highway
München-Lindau). take exit Landsberg nord, then head towards the
city centre. take the first turn to the right, stop off at McDonalds right
at the traffic lights if you are hungry. then straight on and turn right
at the next traffic lights. You are now crossing the highway bridge,
then turn right after the Audi car sales centre. You will pass the ADAC
central office, then right through the 90° bend. After another 500m
you will see us to the left, just opposite the carting track.
