The Imperative for K to 12
• Decongest the curriculum to improve mastery of
basic competencies
• Ensure seamlessness of primary, secondary, and
post-secondary competencies
• Improve teaching through the use of enhanced
pedagogies (e.g. spiral progression in Science &
Math) and medium of instruction
• Expand job opportunities (by reducing jobs-skills
mismatch) and provide better preparation for
higher learning

Senior High School: Be Innovative
1.
2.
Senior High programs may either be standalone or
integrated into existing schools
To be relevant, Senior High can extend beyond
academic specializations to address local needs and
opportunities. Some examples:
Rice Terraces Farming & Preservation School in Ifugao
 Coffee Academy in Batangas and Bukidnon
 BPO “earn while you learn” programs in Iloilo,
Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao
 Weaving & Crafts School in the Cordilleras and Ilocos

2. Collaboration is critical.
3. We welcome your inputs, and will help your
school find the best fit.
4. We need your help in communicating K to 12
and managing our stakeholders.
