“So Samma” – that’s the name of their first album
and, as the title already says, is a depiction of the
six lads who rock European stages in their lederhosen and Jogging Highs.
The Grabenland Buam 2.1 represent a symbiosis
of different worlds which inspired the musicians
during the years. They call this crossover folk
music. Their distinctive style combines cheeky and
crazy elements with traditional ones.
This music sets the traditional music world on fire
but still keeps the traditional values in mind.
Extraordinary musical arrangements and sophisticated songs, combined with a bit of humour give a distinctive character to the album.
The complete album, including production, is homemade. Altogether,
13 songs reflect the different characters of the musicians but they still
have one motto in common: “Stimmung, Spaß, Vollgas!
(good mood, fun, full throttle)

Biography
During their 2-year existence, the “Grabenland Buam” have already played at numerous
kinds of events. They successfully performed
at international parties, traditional festivals as
well as well-known TV shows.
In 2012, they performed on stage of the
famous Austrian TV show “Die Große
Chance (The big chance) and with the support of the jury and the vote of the audience
(at home as well as in the show), they were
immediately sent to the finals.
It all started in 2012 when the six young men (in Austrian dialect “Buam”), formed the band with
the intention of reshaping the Austrian folk music scene with the 100% LIVE Music.
Markus Wonisch, Thomas Konrad, Mario Schulter, Patrick Lux, Florian und Georg Bauer are six
extremely different characters who gain their power from their diversity.
And the result speaks for itself. Since their founding, they can look back on fabulous achievements such
as the performance at the finals of the TV show “Die Große Chance”, a guest performance at Andy
Borg’s “Silvesterstadl”, the following invitation to the popular “Musikantenstadl” or the exceptional success with Russkaja and Conchita Wurst at the “Trachtenpärchen-Ball. Moreover, the band succeeded at
Europe’s biggest party even, the Springbreak in Croatia, as well as the Snowbreak in Schladming. With
their striking crossover folk music, they are able to entertain the young party folk in a unique way.
And their success grows and grows. With their first studio album “So
Samma” (That’s how we are), the band not only proved their musical talent
but also their qualifications in song writing and producing. With these special talents, they were able to give every song a touch of uniqueness. Their
album entered the Austrian album charts already in the first week after the
release. Consequently, it is not surprising that also our German and Italian
neighbours became aware of this sextet.
In order to show their gratitude, the band organized their own “BuamOpen-Air” event in their home village Kirchbach in August 2014. With
2.200 visitors this event can also be seen as another huge success for the
band. 2015 starts with a brilliant TV performance at “Wenn die Musi Spielt”.
Additionally, the production of the first “Oberkrainer-Album” is about to
start and, as in the previous two years, the appointment calendar is going to
be loaded.

Patrick Lux: Is he from Lower Austria, Styria or
East Tyrol? Rumour has it that he himself doesn’t
really know where he comes from. Still, his ability
to make even the least motivated guest dance or
sing or even better, both, is unique. He himself
sings and plays the guitar, sometimes behind his
back and sometimes in the middle of the audience.
Mario SCHULTER

The “Oberkrainer”-import from Burgenland with the
universal music-licence, operates the golden watering
can and delights the audience with, sometimes dirty,
jokes and toasts. For the ladies, he offers his special
dance moves that the world hasn’t seen before.

Swiss clockwork plays the Styrian
harmonica, preferably in traditional
“Oberkrainer”-style. He is a master
of the Stryrian dialect which adds to
the indigenous character of the band.

Florian BAUER
+4):16-<MNM!)@78076Flurl is, with no doubt, the most relaxed member of the
group. To keep him busy, his job is to operate three instruments, namely the clarinet, saxophone and the keyboard. As
a surprise in the folk music world, Flurl’s keyboard only
plays the notes that he really plays.
Thomas KONRAD
Drums & guitar
Our charming drummer who is the only one in Austria who
plays while standing, only leaves his drums for a song on the
“Oberkrainer-Klampfn” (guitar). He is a real punk rocker
and gives the band a special touch of Rock n’ Roll. As the
producer, he is also responsible for the distinctive crossover-sound.
Markus WONISCH

Markus’ musical horizon is literally untouchable. With the left
hand he plays the bass, with the right one the baritone. This
is what Markus makes the most filmed band member of all. It
is certainly not because of his well-ironed shirt.
