losing her job because affordable care for a grandchild is
out of reach; a teenage boy experiencing anger issues and
facing court involvement; a baby being raised in a house
filled with chaos. This is one family with many issues and
one holistic plan. The teen mom attends TIPS where she
learns parenting skills and has peer support and enrolls in
GED Prep to finish her basic education. The teenage boy,
under the supervision of GDJD, participates in the Take
Control workshop and learns what triggers his anger. The
baby is in supervised child care while mom goes to class
and grandmother goes to work; the family receives inhome counseling and parent education by a GDFO home
visitor and is connected to child care dollars, health care
support, and numerous other services in the community.

The Community Review Teams of the
Greater Derry Juvenile Diversion
program are comprised of individuals from all walks of life
who are dedicated to discouraging delinquency and
strengthening family and community centered relationships.
These teams develop contracts with 1st time juvenile offenders
that focus on their strengths; creating a positive learning
experience, while still holding them accountable for their
alleged offense.
