THE JUDGES OF THE CONCORSO 1...
COMMITTEE OF JUDGES:
We honor the judges of the 24th Cavallino
Classic Concorso d’Eleganza.They are all acknowledged
experts in their field, and they serve you as judges on a
volunteer basis, without any form of compensation or
remuneration. All are invited very specifically for their
intimate knowledge of Ferrari and classic automobiles,
and for their earned ability to judge a rare and historic
car by accepted Concours standards.The Ferraris at
the Cavallino Classic Concorso d’Eleganza are judged
by the very detailed judging standards established by
the International Advisory Council for the Preservation
of the Ferrari Automobile (IAC/ PFA).The IAC/PFA
judging standards are accepted world-wide as the
cornerstone for clear and impartial judging.

Bob Blackwood, Jupiter, FL - Bob is a longtime owner
of three -series Ferraris who has shown his cars at multiple
shows. He has judged at numerous local concours and is now
in training to become one of the IAC/PFA judges.
Leslie Blinn, Austin,TX - Leslie has extensive Ferrari
experience both as an exhibitor and concours judge. She currently owns several Ferraris, one of which has earned multiple
Platinum Awards as well as a Preservation Award. Senior
IAC/PFA Judge.
Keith Bluemel, London, England - World renowned
Ferrari researcher and author, with many excellent Ferrari
books to his credit. Competition Editor of Cavallino magazine. European Ferrari Judge, Senior IAC/PFA Judge, and
IAC/PFA Council Member.
Gary Bobileff, Rancho Santa Fe, CA - Founder of
Bobileff Motorcar Company, specializing in Ferraris and Lamborghinis. Concorso Italiano Chief Judge. Master IAC/PFA

Alan Boe, Braselton, GA - Retired publisher, longtime
Ferrari owner, well known Ferrari researcher and author, contributor to Cavallino magazine. Chief Class Judge Emeritus for

David Carte, Edinburg,VA - Founder of Classic &
Sport Auto, a leading restorer of many national award winning
Ferraris. Senior IAC/PFA Judge, and IAC/PFA Council Member.
Nigel Chiltern-Hunt, Hertfordshire, UK - Nigel is a
life member of the UK Ferrari Owners Club, owning many
Ferraris, old and new. He is a champion vintage racer; has
been both a team leader in the past and was Chief Judge this
year at the National Concours.The FOC UK uses the
IAC/PFA judging guidelines.
Brian Crall, Alamo, CA - Brian has been professionally
involved in both modern and vintage Ferrari automobiles for
37 years. His interest in the preservation of the marque led
him to becoming a Concours Judge. Senior IAC/PFA Judge.
Chris Current, Silver Spring, MD - Former U.S. Navy
Submarine Commander, current SCCA racer, longtime Ferrari
owner, former FCA Regional Director, now Chief Judge
Ferrari Club of America and Cavallino Classic Chief Judge.

Al Delauro, San Antonio,TX - Al is a long-time Ferrari
enthusiast since the ‘50s. He has been active in the Ferrari
Club of America and now serves as the Chairman of the
Board. He is most knowledgeable of the newer cars and has
been an evaluator for the Futuro Classico class, preparing
documentation of new cars for concours judging. Master
IAC/PFA Judge.
David Eichenbaum, St. Petersburg, FL - Noted Ferrari
collector. Judges at many regional Concours. IAC/PFA Judge.
Mike Epifanio, Park Ridge, IL - Involved in the sales,
restoration and servicing of Ferraris, owner of award winning
Dino. Master IAC/PFA Judge.
Richard Fritz,Westport, NY - Founder of Amerispec,
which has specialized for three decades in the conversion of
European specification Ferraris to U.S. DOT and EPA standards. Former NART Team Manager. Honors IAC/PFA Judge.
Clete Gardenhour, St. Petersburg, FL - Owner of several Concours winning Ferraris. Judge at many Ferrari Concours
events around the country. Senior IAC/PFA Judge.
Scott George, Naples, FL - Scott is the Vice-President
of The Revs Institute for Automotive Research, dedicated to
the preservation of automotive history, in addition to being a
curator of the Collier Collection. He serves as a judge with
several major shows and is a member of the National
Advisory Board for the McPherson College Automotive
Restoration Program.
Ed Gilbertson, San Francisco, CA - Retired business
executive, retired military officer; Chief Judge Emeritus of the
Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the Palm Beach Cavallino
Classic, and the Ferrari Club of America. Founder of the
International Advisory Council for the Preservation of the
Ferrari Automobile (IAC/PFA); has owned many significant
Ferraris over the past 37 years.
Parker Hall,Vicksburg, MS - Founder of Kilimanjaro
Designs, a leading supplier of hard to find detail parts for
older Italian cars, including Ferraris. Distinguished IAC/PFA
Judge, and current IAC/PFA Council President.
Wes Hatakeyama, Atascadero, CA - Wesley and his
wife Tracey own and operate a Show Horse Farm. He is a
major national Ferrari Concours Judge. Founding member
and on executive committee of the Avila Beach Concours.

Ron Hein, Los Angeles, CA - Retired Chief Financial
Officer in the entertainment industry; longtime Ferrari collector and restorer; frequent Concours entrant; winner of
numerous awards including class wins at Pebble Beach.

Brian Hoyt, Hayward, CA - Founder of Perfect
Reflections, one of the country’s oldest and most respected
restoration shops, specializing in painting and detailing. Senior
IAC/PFA Judge.
Gerry Hudson, Hume,VA -18 years of Ferrari experience, focused on maintenance, repair and preservation of
non-restored Ferrari V-8 and flat twelve models. Judge for
concours, technical performance (Coppa Bella Macchina),
track, and preservation. Senior IAC/PFA Judge.
George Jerome, Jr., Grosse Point Park, MI - Professional
land surveyor and engineer, President of George Jerome and
Co.; involved with an FCA chapter and assisting with regional
concours activities, Ferrari owner. NCRS and Senior IAC/PFA
Judge.
Heinrich Kämpfer, Seengen, Switzerland - Heinrich
has raced and restored Ferraris for over 40 years, showing
at Pebble Beach,Villa d’Este, and Maranello. He is a mechanical
engineer in his professional life but now is a one-man restoration shop for himself. Heinrich is an expert in the older vintage Ferraris.
Henk van Lith,Wadenoijen,The Netherlands - Henk
has significant experience in providing upholstery for private
airplanes and classic cars. He has given many presentations
about the originality of classic Ferrari interiors and has judged
at a number of concours in Europe.
John Kies, Neenah,WI - Co-founder of Motion
Products, a leading specialist in the restoration of national
award winning Concours Ferraris, including 100 point Pebble
Beach cars. Honors IAC/PFA Judge.
Donovan Leyden, Carmel, CA - Retired Chief of Staff,
Defense Information Systems Agency. Past Vice-President and
Treasurer of the Ferrari Club of America. Honors IAC/PFA
Judge, and IAC/PFA Council Member.
Peter McCoy, Beverly Hills, CA - Peter is an active
Ferrari collector and exhibitor, winning many major awards at
FCA Annual Meets, Cavallino, Amelia Island, and Pebble Beach.
He has been actively involved in the research and documentation for all his restored cars.
Tim McNair, Blue Bell, PA - Tim specializes in detailing
motorcars for international events such as Pebble Beach,
Amelia Island, and Villa d’Este. He judges at many national
concours events including Radnor Hunt Concours, Ferrari
Club of America, Alfa Romeo Owners Club and is a docent
of the Simeone Automotive Foundation Museum.
Rick Mikulski, Chicago, IL - Rick is an active participant
with local FCA and FOC for the past 20 years. He has judged
multiple events such as Concours Italiano, FCA Annual Meets,
and the Barrington Concours.
William Murphy, Neenah,WI - Co-founder of Motion
Products, a leading specialist in the restoration of numerous
national award winning Concours Ferraris, including many 100
point Pebble Beach cars. Masters IAC/PFA Judge.
David Olimpi, Middleburg,VA - Private broker of
vintage and classic sports cars specializing in Ferrari; former
IMSA Porsche driver; noted amateur photographer. Chief
Judge at many Concours. Chief Judge at Classic Sports Sunday
at Mar-a-Lago. Senior IAC/PFA Judge.
Bill Orth, Parker, CO - Forty-year background of owning, restoring, appraising and researching vintage Ferraris; contributor to FCA Technical Committee and Editor-at-Large for
Prancing Horse magazine. One of the late Gerald Roush’s
“dinosaurs”. IAC/PFA Judge.
Michael J. Perrot, Haverford, PA - Co-owner of regional
investment firm, longtime Ferrari owner, dedicated to working
on his own cars. Honors IAC/PFA Judge.
Brian Quadt, Seal Beach, CA - Sales manager for a
manufacturing company, formerly a Corvette Judge. Testarossa
owner. Concorso Italiano Judge. Masters IAC/PFA Judge.
Dan Reese,Winchester,VA - Medical Doctor,
Cardiologist; owns and shows Ferraris. FCA Regional Judge
for the Mid-Atlantic Region. Masters IAC/PFA Judge.

Paul Russell, Essex, MA - Founder of Paul Russell and
Company, a leading restorer of many important vintage and
classic cars, including many Pebble Beach winners. Senior
IAC/PFA Judge.
Ted Rutland,Tucker, GA - Founder of T. Rutlands, Inc.,
a major supplier of parts for older Italian cars, including
Ferraris. Senior IAC/PFA Judge.
David Seielstad, Princeville, Kauai, HI - Noted
researcher, historian and author of numerous articles on the
history of sports car racing and early Ferraris. Recipient of
Warren Fitzgerald Award for Excellence in Ferrari Historical
Research/Writing. Contributing editor to Cavallino and
Prancing Horse. Ferrari owner. Council Member IAC/PFA,
Master IAC/PFA judge. Frequent judge at Cavallino Classic,
FCA and Pebble Beach.
Robert Selz, Hallandale, FL - Retired Dentist, noted
Ferrari collector with several important historical Ferraris.

Steve Selz, Jupiter, FL - Steve has been a long-time
Ferrari owner and has served many positions in the Florida
FCA Region, being President for many years.
Enrique Senior, Caracas,Venezuela - Noted collector
and authority on the three-series Ferraris. Hands-on preservation of post -1967 Ferraris. Founder of the Senega Collection, advocates and custodians of V-8 Ferrari preservation.

Tom Shaughnessy, Oceanside, CA - Founder of
Shaughnessy Consulting, supplier of parts for pre-1975
Ferraris; consultant on early Ferrari restorations. Masters
IAC/PFA Judge.
Clem Simmons, North Bay, Ontario, Canada - Noted
Ferrari collector and writer. Long -time Ferrari enthusiast;
active in Ferrari Club events. Senior IAC/PFA Judge.
David Smith, Medina,WA - David is a founding member
of the IAC/PFA. David has been restoring and judging Ferraris
and Alfa Romeos internationally since 1982. Also restores
Bugattis, and vintage power boats. Masters IAC/PFA Judge.
Doug Teague, Warrenton,VA - Former auto executive
specializing in powertrain engineering; former professional
motorcycle racer with Harley-Davidson; a team rider on
Italian AerMacchi. Long distance motorcycle tours around the
world. Owns a 456 and did have a 365 GTC/4 which he maintained himself. He is most knowledgeable of the later V-12s.

Phil Tegtmeier, Villanova, PA - Long-time Ferrari sales
and collection specialist, Ferrari owner and collector, FCA
event organizer and regional FCA Head Judge. Masters

Jim Wallner, Neenah,WI - Jim has worked in the automotive restoration field for over 30 years. A judge since 2008,
he can be found at all major Ferrari concours events including
Cavallino Classic, FCA International Meet and Pebble Beach
Concours. Jim has been instrumental in reintroducing the
Ruote Borrani wheel into the North American market.
Bob Weiner, Houston,TX - Bob is a long-time Ferrari
owner who purchased his first 250 GTE in 1970 which he still
owns and enjoys. He has been the Ferrari Club of America's
South Central Region Chief Concours Judge and is an experienced IAC/PFA Judge for the Ferrari Club of America and
many years for the Keels & Wheels Concours. Senior
IAC/PFA Judge.
John Whittington,Woodstock,VA - John is an experienced restorer of old Ferraris. He is an expert in restoring/replacing many of the component details to original standards required by IAC/PFA. With this extensive background,
he is a valued new member of the IAC/PFA judging team.

enthusiast, Scorer at many Ferrari events; formerly Secretary

Palm Beach Cavallino Classic, former Scorekeeper of the

Derek Bell, Pagham, England - World famous race car
driver, five time winner of Le Mans,World Endurance

Michael Gregg, Parkland, FL - Executive in the family
publishing business. Attended the Art Center School of
Design. Ferrari collector (of models large and small), noted

Egidio Brandoli, Modena, Italy - Founder of the famous
restoration shop that carries his name, Egidio began work in
the coachbuilding field with Sergio Scaglietti in 1963, where he
worked until 1980 before founding his own business, which is
world renowned today. Honorary Cavallino Classic Judge.
Cecilia Brandoli, Modena, Italy - Daughter of Egidio
Brandoli, the famous Italian coachbuilder. Cecilia has broadened these family skills with a line of metal art objects handmade in the same manner as the old Ferrari bodies. Honorary
Cavallino Classic Judge.
Christian Philippsen, Monte Carlo, Monaco Noted car collector and historian, automotive consultant
to Christie’s and Louis Vuitton, Publisher of Automobile Year.

Bruce Meyer, Beverly Hills, CA - Bruce is known
around the world as the most enthusiastic collector, owner
and event organizer ever. His spirit infects all around him. He
is on the Board of the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles, and
his most recent exploit was as Chief Organizer of the sixty
old Ferraris on Rodeo Drive during FNA’s 60th Anniversary.

driver, 1981-82 World Sports Car Champion in Ferrari 312 PB,

Oscar Scaglietti, Modena, Italy - Son of the world the
renowned Sergio Scaglietti. A walking repository of information about Scaglietti and coachbuilding. Honorary Cavallino

Simone Schedoni, Modena, Italy - One of the most
famous names in automobiles, with his sumptuous Schedoni
leather adorning many interiors, and accessories, of many of
the great names in automobiles, including Ferrari. Honorary

rare and historic competition Ferraris; serious vintage racer.

Ken Baker, Deerfield Beach, FL - 25 years in the high
end automobile business, the past 12 in classic cars. Currently
judge at the Celebration Exotic Car Show, Winter Park
Concours, Rolls-Royce and Bentley Judge, DeLorean Judge,
Previous Judge at Boca Raton Concours. Currently on the
Board of the Boca Concours, previous Director of Winter
Park. Going into fifth year serving as a Judge at Cavallino
Classic Sports Sunday.
Chuck Mitchell, Poughkeepsie, NY - Has several awardwinning Porsche 356s. Has owned many Ferraris, including 275
GTB/4s. A Packard and a Woodie expert. Chief Judge for
CCCA Metro Region; Judge at Greenwich and Amelia Island;
restorer of several Pebble Beach & Amelia winners.
Woody Richey, St Petersburg, FL - Graduated from
the inaugural McPherson College Automobile Restoration
Program. Started Proper Motor Cars, Inc. After retiring from
restoration, he worked for Rolls-Royce/Bentley Tampa Bay.
Woody has Chaired several national events for the RollsRoyce Owners' Club and was Chairman of the Florida Region
of RROC. He also sat on RROC Board. Judging in international competitions throughout northern hemisphere since 1970.
Don Rose, Boston, MA - Noted automotive enthusiast,
and frequent Judge at many classic car events. Vice-Chairman
of the Aston Martin Owners Club NA and the Editor
Emeritus of its magazine,The Vantage Point. A consultant to
RM Auctions.
Bill Rothermel, Lancaster, Pennsylvania - Automotive
Historian and Writer; Master of Ceremonies and Judge at
many major concours throughout the U. S. including Boca
Raton, Pinehurst, Elegance at Hershey, Milwaukee, Radnor,
and St. Michaels.
Tom Smith, Nashville,TN - Tom Smith is an avid vintage
rally participant and collector and lives in Nashville,Tennessee.
His collection includes Aston Martins, Jaguar, Healey, Porsche
and Volvo. He has participated in the 2011-13 Mille Miglia in
Italy, the 2014 Ennstal Classic in Austria and the 2014 1000
Millas Sport in Argentina. He is the Chairman of the Board of
Directors of the Aston Martin Owners Club-North America
East and has served as a Judge at the Cavallino Classic’s
Classic Sports Sunday, the AMOC Lime Rock Classic and
the Boca Raton Concours.

of many award-winning Ferraris. Specializes in preservation.

Ruben Verdes, Coral Gables, FL - Banker and trade financier, lifelong automobile enthusiast. Concours Judge; author
and Editor on the history of Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Director on the Board of the Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club (RROC)
and Communications Committee Chairman.

David Williams, Lake Worth, FL - Dave is the new
Editor of the Ferrari Club of America’s magazine Prancing
Horse, and is Editor/Designer of the FCA News Bulletin and
the Florida Redline. He has also designed many innovative
FCA National Meet Programs, and has designed several
award-winning specialized automotive books that have
become collectible.

Kevin Flankey, Orlando, FL - Noted automotive enthusiast, and frequent Judge at many classic car events around

He was instrumental in running the Ferrari Challenge and
Ferrari Historic Challenge for Ferrari North America, and
now organizes the Cavallino Classic Competition. He has a
vast knowledge of other vintage marques, especially Bugatti.
