I produce exceptionally high quality pieces for
print in the areas of education, health and
wellness, high-tech, travel, consumer products,
and non-profits. Equally productive in team and
solo settings; off- or on-site. Meets challenges
head-on. Specialties: Creative Direction and Print
Production Management – Graphic Design & Production with high proficiency in Adobe InDesign,
Photoshop, Illustrator & Acrobat – Unobtrusive
event photographer with an eye for “the decisive
moment” – Photo editor (meaning selection, not
image enhancement, although I do that as well).
w
For over forty years
I’ve been working as a
freelance photographer
out of my studio in
Santa Cruz, California.
You’ve might remember
my work for Apple
in the 80s and 90s; I did the “grainy” product
illustrations on the kraft cardboard packages.
And Amazon, where I recently made the photo
lockscreens that came on the Kindles that didn’t
have “special offers” running. I’m currently staying close to home, making product photographs
and shooting location portraits for Plantronics and
Driscolls. First used Photoshop 1.0.1 in 1989 from
a pre-release bootleg on a Mac II with the 12˝ B/W
Monitor. Collaborated on what were arguably the
first independent Photoshop workshops in the early
90s. Am looking forward to attending my first ADIM
and updating Lightroom on iOS skills. As I move
into semi-retirement I hope to participate in the
local fine art scene and travel to Cuba to fly fish
for Baby Tarpon. Maybe restore the ’72 SAAB Sonnett in the garage.

Growing up in St.Lou
and living in the big
O have given me a
unique Midwest influence for design. Most
of my enjoyment comes
from creating vector based illustration and
incorporating pop-art where ever possible. I have
a background in fine-art and strengthened my
skills with the brilliant staff over at Lindenwood
University. At Lindenwood I was able to play
football and study a well rounded curriculum to
balance my professional career. I began in 2005
creating packaging and catalogs for Eddie Bauer,
Swiss Gear, Wenzel, and Wanger. Since then I
have created amazing posters for some of my
favorite films from the action era (think anything
with Stallone, except Rhinestone) and some really
cool work for my favorite companies! Like Vanilla
Ice said “If you have a problem, yo I’ll solve it!”

I’m the owner of MacConsulting Maui that
started in 1990. I bought
the first built in color Mac,
the llCi in 1989. Started
helping individuals and
small businesses buy
hardware and software, setup and install, teach
& maintain computers. Worked with ad agencies,
restaurant chain and a lot of individual artists,
mostly painters, who discovered how much
digital photography could help them in their
work. Did IT work for many years with the largest
whale watching organization in Hawaii. Enjoy
photography, painting and water sports. Involved
in art community and for years on the board of
Art Maui that helps budding artists get college
scholarships in the arts. I have been a helper for
ADIM/Russell since ADIM 4 in 2001.

the launch of Davis Design in 1993. Jan helps
clients in a variety of fields build their brand.
These include high tech, private jet aviation,
women’s health care, food service management,
and nonprofits. Jan is a volunteer, sponsor and
member of the board for the Westwind 4-H Riding for the Handicapped program, which gives

Paul Davis
Paul Davis is an American artist and graphic
designer. Born and raised in Oklahoma, he
attended the School of Visual Arts in New York
on scholarship and was a member of Push Pin
Studios before starting his own studio in 1963.
He developed a distinctive illustration style that
influenced countless others, and his paintings
and posters have been the subject of exhibitions
and museum retrospectives in the U.S., France,
Italy, Japan and China. He served as art director
for Joseph Papp’s New York Shakespeare Festival
from 1975 until the producer’s death in 1991,
and in 2014 the Public Theater installed a permanent gallery of his most iconic posters. Davis
was founding art director for two experimental
magazines, Normal and Wigwag, and designed
the opening exhibition for the Museum of the
Moving Image. Honors include the coveted AIGA
Medal, honorary doctorates from School of Visual
Arts and the Maryland Institute College of Art, a
special Drama Desk Award, and induction into
the Halls of Fame of the Art Directors Club and
the Society of Illustrators. He was a longtime
faculty member of the School of Visual Arts,
and is a Fellow and Resident of the American
Academy in Rome. What can I say – I love
what I do. It gives me
great satisfaction to create visually compelling
marketing materials that
communicate at a very
high level. It is equally
challenging and rewarding. I earned a BFA from the
Peck School of the Arts at UWMilwaukee. My career
involves work at an ad agency, in-house marketing departments and freelance design. I am
currently freelancing and loving it. I love to travel
and have an exciting 100 day trip to Europe
planned for this summer and fall. I am married,
have 2 daughters and 1 grandson with another
arriving in June.
I am excited to be back
for my 2nd ADIM. I am
a graphic designer and
storyteller. I am also a
musical theatre performer,
director and scenic designer. I am a Marvel
Comics fan, an avid reader
and filmgoer. My husband Keith and I moved to
Palm Springs, CA from the Chicago suburbs three
years ago and we love it here. And yes, I will be
singing another fabulous ditty for the talent show
again this year. www.duebnerdesign.com

In 1988 I was working as
an airbrush illustrator/
retoucher in an art studio.
My bosses walked in and
handed me a Quark manual and said, “We bought
a computer. Learn this.”
That’s pretty much been
my career since then. A “Jackie of all Trades” who
just keeps learning new skills as bosses say “Hey
learn this.” (thanks Lynda.com!) I am currently
the art director for The Cleveland Botanical Garden/Holden Arboretum, but please don’t blame
me for the websites!! I’m a one-woman band and
have to McGyver things on a small budget. The
words “Jackie can’t you just...?” ring in my ears
continually. Here’s a link to graphic design for our
summer benefit called Woodland Twilight. Logo,
color scheme, invitation, save the date postcard,

Dave Kuhar
Julieanne Kost
From running PageMaker off floppy disks,
to being an Illustrator
88 user, to running his
first copy of Photoshop
off a SyQuest because his hard drive was too
full, Dave built his career on Adobe products.
He mastered chops and rejoiced when PS added
layers, struggled with figuring out why Illustrator
has two pen tools while Freehand only had one,
and more than once slept on the floor of his
office, keeping a watchful eye as Premiere tried
to render a multi-layer file without crashing. As a
Jack-of-All-Trades, Master of Few, Dave has done
work in video/TV editing, graphic design, web
design/development, and pretty much anything
else a client will pay him for. Dave moved from
Cleveland to San Jose a couple of years ago to
be, as his mother reminds him, “around your
people.” Turns out she was right: he’s really looking forward to meeting his people at ADIM.

I have had a passion for
art ever since I could pick
up a pencil. I came to
grow a love for design as
I got older, and decided
to pursue a bachelors
degree in Fine Arts from
Boise State University.
I’m a fresh designer in the professional community, and know that there is always something
new and exciting to learn from. My design philosophy is to strive towards designs that “mean
something” as opposed to those that just look
pretty and polished.

Maria Masiar
I’ve been designing in one form or another since
Photoshop 3.0. My 18 year design career has
been web-centric building out flows, wireframes,
designs, and HTML/CSS for websites and applications. Industries have ranged from automotive, IT,
natural resources, education, e-commerce, and
government for a multitude of clients ranging from
IBM to the UN. In the last few years my focus has
shifted to mobile first application design while
leading/building user experience teams in agile
environments. Design has always been my first
love and I still love to just sit down and geek out
with Photoshop. I have written tutorials for and
been featured in Advanced Photoshop magazine
from the UK, as well as winning second place for
composition from Photoshop User magazine.

Art and design run
deep in my family, so
although I started out
as a musician…I ended
up where I should have
been all along–in design.
For the last 25+ years,
I’ve been designing/art directing for a number
of companies, both very large and very small.
Currently, I’m working for QuaverMusic.com,
a company that has developed the first online
music curriculum for general music classroom in
schools worldwide. I help lead a team of 7 artists
and animators and I exclusively handle all print/
physical design projects, while also doing email
marketing, UX/UI, and Interactive design. Being
mostly self-taught, I’m a voracious digester of
all things design and am always seeking to learn
something new. I’m a (rare) native of Nashville,
TN and love living and working in the Music
Industry on Music Row. I’m happily married to a
professional studio/touring musician who would
love for me to have enough free time to design
him a new website! This is my third ADIM conference and I’m excited to be back. More about me: behance.net/mmoffet

Jeremy Perez
Jeremy Perez is an Arizona
based art director. He
works with a brilliant,
in-house creative team
for the medical products
division of W. L. Gore &
Associates. He got his start in the quick-print
business 26 years ago. It was a hopeful time,
when Aldus PageMaker Color Extension hinted
at things the trusty old Mac SE30 wasn’t quite
geared to dish out. These days, when he’s not
wrangling comps, briefs, brand, and gnarly slices
of human anatomy, you might find him with a
camera under a star-filled Arizona sky or a spinning Great Plains supercell trying to capture the
humbling power and beauty of the experience.
Because a camera can’t fill in every crevice of
aesthetic and scientific interest, he also writes
and illustrates for astronomy publications in
the US and UK. This will be Jeremy’s fifth ADIM
conference and he’s looking forward to the robust
flavors of inspiration, education, and creative
energy that only ADIM can deliver.

create order out of chaos. My design consultancy

user experiences. I’ve won some Webbys along the
way. Before starting my business, I was creative
director at Aldus/Adobe and worked with Russell

I was brought to
United States as
a girl during the
winter of 1991,
along with hundreds
of other refugees
trying to escape a
life under the Soviet yoke. Kansas City has been
our home since. After graduating from the University of Kansas with a BFA in Graphic Design

and industries to finally land with Kiewit Power,
where I’ve been since. I’ve designed and art
directed professionally for over 13 years. Today
I am a Creative Manager and sole designer
for Kiewit’s Power division in Lenexa, KS. I am so
very fortunate and grateful to have the opportunity to attend this year’s ADIM conference. It’s a
privilege to be around the talented and unique
people attending and teaching. To listen to their
experiences, interests and ideologies…
I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this
year’s class.

I am a documentary
photographer with an
art and engineering
foundation. By the
late 1990’s, I was
immersed in photodigital technology and my professional experience
includes consulting and collaboration as well
as catalog and magazine photography. Current
concentration is mostly focused on the fine arts.
I provide digital media services for electronic
delivery as well as commercial and fine art printing. I specialize in fine art reproduction, portfolio
photography, collaborative digital art creation, and
photo documentation of process and landscape
including time-lapse, panoramic, and giga-pixel
resolution for virtual reality. My business name is
Meridian Fine Art. I also work as an independent
photographer under the name Meridian Photo. My
primary interest is on the cultural landscape and
people’s interaction with the environment. Most
recently I’ve become an artist in residence to our
local school district where I support the artistic
and creative use of technology within a STEAM
driven curriculum. I live and work near the town
of Blue Lake and share a 120 year old country
cottage with my family. We garden, raise chickens,
and enjoy life on the North Coast of California.
