BIOGRAPHY
US-Debut Release
Formed on December 31st 1998 in Chiba, ELLEGARDEN made
their explosive debut with the 2001 release of their self-titled album,
"ELLEGARDEN".
RIOT ON THE GRILL
Over the next 6 months the band did an amazing 4 nationwide tours
across the entire length of Japan, also managing to insert countless
street, in-store and live performances in between. They still do over
100 live performances each year. Music festivals have also been
a major part of their music resume, with appearances in top-level
events such as SUMMER SONIC (which also featured artists like
Oasis, Weezer and The LA's) and RISING SUN FESTIVAL.
In the latter festival, ELLEGARDEN delivered a tremendous
performance on the main stage in front of a crowd of 20,000 people.
They've also appeared as the performing act for SUM41's Japan
Tour in early 2005.

Their masterpiece 4th Single, "Missing", ranked #2 on the ORICON
Indies hit-charts in its first week of release and was also ranked
16th on the Overall (Major + Indies) charts. Every music they've
producedthereafter has made it to the top rankings.
The Vocal/Guitar Takeshi Hosomi utilizes both English and Japanese,
adding an extra touch to the positive lyrics and punkish power-pop that
defines the band. ELLEGARDEN was an instant hit among
the Japanese youth, achieving extreme popularity almost equal to
that of popular major-label bands. They are undoubtedly the premier
punk-pop band in Japan.
The band's latest album, "RIOT ON THE GRILL",
ranked 3rd on the ORICON charts in its first appearance and sold
over 220,000 copies. ELLEGARDEN has now surpassed 700,000 in
total record sales and are closing into a million.
ELLEGARDEN will storm into the american music market with their
US debut album in February 2006. The release will be followed by
their first-ever US tour in March.
