About Sahyadri
Infrastructure
Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management offers a wide
range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in
technical and management domains, approved by AICTE and
affiliated to Visveshwaraya Technological University - VTU.
The vision of the institute is to become a globally respected
institute striving continuously for excellence in education,
research and technological service to the nation.
Sahyadri campus is spread across 30 acres of land on the
banks of the river Nethravathi and is surrounded by a serene
atmosphere. It is adjacent to the Mangalore-Bangalore,
National Highway 48. The Campus provides a congenial
atmosphere for education. The excellent infrastructure
coupled with dedicated and experienced faculty has made the
Campus a much sought–after abode of learning.
The College offers B.E. Degree in Computer Science,
Information Science, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics &
Communication, and Post-graduation in MBA, M.Tech in
above mentioned five specializations and Ph.D. Research
programs.
The College has a built-in area of five lakh sqft, aesthetically
constructed, in the courtyard style. Very spacious class rooms
with good ventilation, well-equipped laboratories, spacious
library, seminar halls, auditorium with all modern acoustic
facilities, state-of-the-art cafeteria and a well-developed
sports facility are provided in the Campus.
The College is ISO 9001-2008 certified by TUV Nord, Germany
and has obtained the International Accreditation
Organization (IAO) candidate stature.

Student Project Support Scheme - SPSS
Sahyadri Initiatives
This is the first-of-its-kind in any professional technical
institution in the country. SPSS provides financial and
academic support for student projects in order to improve
the quality of technical education. The management has
earmarked sufficient funds to support student projects
through the SPSS.
The institution has supported students to participate in
SAE BAJA, SAE SUPRA, SAE AERO competitions which help
students to use their theoretical knowledge for practical
applications. Students are qualified for SAE-BAJA, SAE Go
Cart, SAE Formula Race, and SAE Aero Design
Competitions. A two day National level Aero Modeling
Competition “Aerophilia 2016” was conducted at Sahyadri
for undergraduate students of the entire country organized
by team Challengers and Dreamers of the institute.
Students from premier institutes like IIT Madras, IIT
Kanpur, NIT Karnataka participated.
Sahyadri Center for Social Innovation - SCSI
The main objective of the Sahyadri Center for Social
Innovation (SCSI) is to motivate the students in the area of
Social Innovations and Engineering and provide hands-on
experience and practical exposure to solve socially relevant
problems. The College believes that mere academic
knowledge is not sufficient to produce world-class engineers.
Hands on Experience Lab
In order to bridge the gap between theory and practice, the
College has initiated this lab. The Hands-on Lab is a fullfledged 24X7 technical workspace. The lab aims at enhancing
the analytical skills and practical knowledge of the budding
engineers. The Hands-on Lab is built on the lines of “Make in
India” concept where we encourage students to pursue their
ideas and innovate continuously with the intent to bring
engineering close to reality.
Start-up @ Sahyadri
iWave Systems Technologies, Bangalore
Start-up at Sahyadri focuses on holistic approach in
building a complete understanding about startups and
entrepreneurship journey through various perspectives
and connects all relevant and related resources and tools
for further self-learning and to put theory into practice.
The objective of Start-up@Sahyadri is to provide adequate
support data and tools to connect with other sources and
data that support entrepreneurial ventures.

Department of Placement
The Department of Placement consists of the HODPlacement and an Assistant Placement Officer. The
department is entrusted with the responsibility of
ensuring that students are well-placed professionally,
thereby bringing to a successful culmination the
students' efforts in the program. The objective of the
Placement Department is to train the students as per the
requirements of the industry. This is done through
extensive industry-specific aptitude training, to enhance

pursuing Ph.D. from University of Mysore.
His research interests are in the areas of
Branding, Services Marketing and Retail.
Prof. Ramesh K. G., is a graduate in
Commerce and Law and post graduate in
Business Administration from Mangalore
University. He has 15 years of corporate &
PG teaching experience. He was Regional
Manager with ICICI Prudential Life
Insurance in Karnataka & Goa, Chief
Manager with ICICI Bank, Mumbai.
Ms. Mamatha Shetty
• The objective of the Placement Department is to
make the students industry ready. Through extensive
industry-specific training, it enhances the
effectiveness of the students aspiring for placement.
• Online assessment from Olive Board - earning &
placement platform which is being used by top
engineering colleges in Karnataka for their 3rd & 4th
year batches.
• Off-campus placement support and also assessment
from the CoCubes.
• In house aptitude training for the students of 3rd &
4th semester teaching them the basics of aptitude .
• In house aptitude training for the students of 5th &
6th semester with practical exposure in solving
aptitude tests.
• Mandatory for the pre-final year students to
complete 1 project successfully and undergo
internship in at least one company, while for the 2nd
year students it is mandatory to complete 2 projects
successfully and undergo internships in 2 companies.
• At Sahyadri we have adopted the Culture of involving
students in projects from the first stsemester, where
students are expected to identify social problems and
in all the preceding semesters they develop ideas into
concept, the concept into a project and finally the
project into a real product for the benefit of society.

Computer Science from Sahyadri College of
Engineering & Management, Mangalore
and M.Tech in Computer Science from Nitte
University. She has guided three SPSS
projects and is the co-ordinator of Sahyadri
Alumni Association.
