Greetings and Welcome to the 7th AKKA World Kannada Conference. We are delighted to host you
along with your families to celebrate this spectacular event in Atlanta. Welcome to this event
where you will meet old friends and make new friends and relationships.
The theme of our event is “Bird’s eye view of Karnataka’s Rich heritage, Language, Art and
Culture”. We believe that we have striven to ensure that all of our events reflect this theme closely.
We believe our strong program lineup in our Cultural, CME, Business Forum, Women’s forum,
Spirituality, Literary and Youth forums will entertain and educate you through the three days of
the event.
On behalf of AKKA Board of Trustees and Conference Committees, we invite you to relax and enjoy
our hospitality. We appreciate your patience during busy times in the event. Please use this guide
to guide you through the various exciting programs happening in the various halls around the
Georgia International Convention Center.
We thank all artists, literature stars from here and India who have travelled a long distance to
entertain and educate us in this event. On behalf of the event organizers, we sincerely appreciate
the hard work of all volunteers across the world that has helped in the organization for this event.
We appreciate our sponsors providing the financial support for running a big event. Please
support our International exhibitors who have come from all parts of this country and India.
This event Program Guide would not have been possible without the amazing help and support
from all Committees working to make this event successful. Thanks to AKKA Publicity and Jagali
team for ensuring publicity for the event. Special Thanks goes to Sri. Haridas Lahari who has
helped our event continuously through the last 8 months using his great talent to create amazing
event posters and also the design for both Chiguru and Tutturi magazines for this event. The
Atlanta teams owe a lot to Jyotshna Hegde who has worked tirelessly to ensure we have
continuous publicity everywhere with minimal budget.
Thank you again for being with us and making the 6th AKKA conference a memorable one.
Together, we will work together to get entertained, get educated and enjoy the feast.

AMOGHAVARSHA (MAIN STAGE)
Description
Choreography/
Direction
Real events that happened in the Uma Ettigi
12th century are staged. Lord
Basaveshwara created a
revolutionary movement and
achieved social justice which
even Carl Marx could not
achieve.
The specialty of this item is that,
the dancer has to dance on the
pot maintaining her balance and
the equilibrium. This is a
traditional 18th Century temple
Dance. This is in praise of
Goddess Saraswathi.
This is a Dance that reaches out
to all the non-resident Indians.
This Dance describes the pull of
the western world to an Indian
and how they decide to leave the
country and the sensitive hearts
of the Indian families.

Drama - Nannavala
Kagada
Drama - Cinema
Samsara
long time ago. He had an
arranged marriage, his wife
Rekha is from Bangalore. They
have only one daughter Neena,
who was born in America.
Ramesh and Neena are trying
their best to maintain their
Kannada culture, however; they
realize that gradually their
Kannada culture is fading away.
Meanwhile their American born
daughter is embracing the
American culture. Ramesh is
now in a dilemma. What
happens next? Well, you will
have to come and see the play.
Hamsadhwani raga is a janya
raga of the 29th melakartha raga
Dheerashankarabharna. Known
for its melody and
auspiciousness, Hamsadhwani
raga has a soothing happy effect.
Try to recollect the last time you
wrote someone a letter?! With
the rush of telephones, mobiles,
emails, texts and social
networking websites, the beauty
of letter writing seems long lost.
Let us take a ride back with
Nannavala Kagada, a comedy act
written by Sri Gundanna
Humorous play on a family that
speaks Cinema Lingo.
