A Letter from the Board President...
Summer 2013
Dear Friends of HumaneCNY:
Extended Summer Hours!
Many wonderful changes are happening at The Humane Association of CNY! Many
of you know me as a board member and the HumaneCNY’s fundraising chairperson, a
position that I entirely enjoyed for the past four years. I was recently elected as
the board president and a fellow board member, Pam Levine, graciously accepted the
role of fundraising chairperson. I am confident that her experience with event planning will most certainly take fundraising to the next level. Also, we are hoping to
add a fundraising/event planning co-chair to work with Pam, so if you or someone
you know has an interest in event planning, please contact me at humaneassoccny@
gmail.com.
Adoptions SIX days a week
A couple months ago, the HumaneCNY also welcomed Christine McNeely as the
new shelter director. Christine has a Masters Degree in Business Administration and is
highly skilled in managing all aspects of a business. In addition to being a business woman,
she is an ardent animal lover who is dedicated to ensuring the well being of the puppies, dogs, cats, and kittens
cared for by our dedicated
shelter staff. This is truly a
great combination for the
HumaneCNY, and there will
be many positive updates in
the operation of the shelter
and to upcoming adoption
promotions. Please stop in
and introduce yourself to
Christine. She will be thrilled
to meet all of our wonderful
supporters.
The dogs welcomed Christine as our new shelter director.

Well now you can. Drop off any metal to Ben Weitsman of
Syracuse, the East Coast’s largest scrap metal processor,
located at 333 Bridge St., Solvay, NY. Just tell them it is
for the Humane Association of CNY, and they will do the
rest.
Here are some examples of items they will gladly take:
pull tabs, food cans/lids, keys, vacuums, fans, nuts, bolts, grills,
bicycles, washers & dryers.
Can money buy happiness?
According to our FIV-positive cats, it sure does! They are now free-roaming in a spacious room
with a large window from which they keep a close eye on the
doggie play yard when they aren’t playing with each other
or catching a little shut eye -- quite a change from living
alone in a cage. This renovation was possible because
of the generous, ongoing financial support of our members,
and we thank you! These beautiful cats are available for
adoption free of charge to approved applicants.
