JANUARY SERMON SERIES...WITH
This month we are looking at Skye Jethani’s book With. What a
great time to consider God WITH us just after the Christmas season.
There are a few copies available in the office for $12. You can also
find them online at Amazon, or at Lifeway and Mardel bookstores.
Cost varies at those locations. Come grow with us! If you would like
to order a book, please fill out this bulletin insert and include your
payment of $12 marked “WITH”.
CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to Aaron Logan in completing his first step of becoming a United Methodist Pastor. Aaron is now a certified candidate for ministry in the United Methodist Church. We are excited
about supporting his efforts and keeping he and his family in our
prayers!
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Gifts, Service, & Witness
Gifts… We ended 2012 in
great shape with apportionments paid, bills paid and ministry happening. Thank you,
Trinity.
Service…December was an
eventful month as we celebrated the birth of Jesus.
Thank you to those who
helped make Breakfast with
Santa possible, & the Cantata
was beautiful. There was singing, decorating, planning, rehearsing, organizing, time
given and laughing that took
place for all of December’s
activities to happen. We hope
you were blessed by simply
being involved and serving
others.
Witness…Did you share your
greatest gift with someone this
Christmas season?

More Ways to Help
RECYCLING FOR THE
NURSERY We have an ongoing collection of items that can be recycled to
raise money for the nursery. Cell phones, laser
and inkjet cartridges, laptops, iPods, digital cameras, DVDs, GPS devices, PDAs, video games &
consoles, scientific & graphing calculators, and
iPads/tablets/eReaders, can all be collected for
cash. If you have any of these items that you no
longer can use and are wanting to get rid of, you
can bring them to the church office or Narthex. The
monies received will help with nursery needs.
Thank you!

the cloth napkin for our fun event. Tommie Beckwith will be showing us how to
fold napkins into different characters,

with! If you do not have one, there will
be some here at the church! Invite a

From the Pastor
Greetings,
I write to
you in the name of
our Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ. This has
been a very powerful
Advent season as I
have seen and felt
God moving in my life
Rev. John Peel
and the people of
Trinity United Methodist. On behalf of our
staff, I want to say a word of thank you for
the gift to us at Christmas. Your appreciation of what we do to serve our God
through you means a lot to us. Thank you
very much! Now we are really excited and
renewed to launch into the coming year.
The new year is always a time of
analyzing what has been with resolutions
about what will be. With this in mind I
want to invite you on a journey with me
from now until Easter that we take a seri-
ous look at our relationship to God
ending with a claiming or renewing
of our walk with Jesus. January will
see us focus on the book WITH by
Skye Jethani as he helps us look at
ways we have moved away from
relationship to a life under, over,
from, or for God. This little book is a
powerful understanding of why
many of our churches have lost sight
of our mission with busy work that
hinders our walk with God. You may
buy the book at any of the book
stores or ask in the office as we have
some on hand. I do think your reading of the book will help us all grow
in our relationship with God. The
Christian faith must not slip into a
religion of do’s and don’ts, but help
us to focus on a journey with our
God. This series will help us look at
the Bible’s message of living WITH
God enjoying the power of that rela-
tionship.
Lent will bring us a time
looking at the WAY Jesus traveled.
We will journey by video to places
that Jesus walked and spiritually
grow closer to this God that wants to
be with us. Remember that Jesus
came into our world so that we
might see, feel, and touch our God.
Jesus said to his contemporaries,
come and follow me. I say as your
pastor, come and follow me over
this next few months, as we grow
closer to Jesus letting us change lives
and transform our community. I
hope to see you here every week
between now and Easter.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor John
