If you want to play world-class public courses for an
incredibly cheap price, Rochester is the place.
For instance, I played Durand Eastman Golf Course
(Donald Ross original design, Robert Trent Jones redesign) for $8 with pull cart.

Most courses designed by these guys run about $150 for
9 holes (or are private courses).
85 public courses in the Rochester area, and most
are fantastic
Range in price from $8-50 for 9 holes, with most
courses falling in the $15-30 range.
