Amidst uncertainties caused by the destruction of Typhoon Soudelor,
Chacha Oceanview Middle School opened its doors on September 8,
2015 with the rest of the secondary schools on Saipan. Just days after the
grand opening, electricity was restored, bringing smiles to teachers and
students alike.

FREE MEAL: More students are eligible for Free Meal! Families who
were eligible for Nutrition Assistance Program during the disaster are
eligible as long as their forms are approved on or before October 12!
DONATIONS: Chacha students received various donations of school
supplies to help alleviate educational burden on parents. Supplies
were delivered to the school then distributed equally to classrooms.
HALF-DAY SCHEDULE: All PSS schools implemented the half-day
sessions in consideration of families who still have no power and/or
water. Half-day sessions will continue for Chacha until October 5.
LIMITED OR NO HOMEWORK: Teachers limit homework during this
quarter as families continue to face challenges with limited daylight
hours.
