Shopping Tips For
Wedding Essentials
A trip to India is essential
before your big day. Making do
with Southall is not an option
unless you have absolutely no
choice. Take a trip to Mumbai,
the heart of Bollywood and Delhi the heart of India. This will
definitely resolve your heart
affairs! Before heading out, en-
sure that prior research is done
thus maximising your limited
time there. Once you’ve decided on your desired shopping list
in India, make a supplementary
local shopping list. Making
yourself organised will automatically mitigate the daunting
wedding shopping list.
Here are a few tips on jewellery
and outfit shopping in India:
Top 5 places to shop at:
1.Notandas (Bombay) - Get
unique jewellery from Notandas. A personal favourite! I
can spot a Nontandas Set from
a mile (with the assumption
of impeccable eyesight!) The
designs are fashionable intricate. I’d suggest getting your
polki or kundan set from here.
A definite winner in my eyes!
2.Millionaire
Boutique
(Bombay) - A boutique that
satisfies bling lovers. They
have a wide range of lehngas
and you can customize your
designs with the designer.
Millionaire lehngas are used
in many Bollywood Blockbusters. They do a wide range
of Kurtas for the groom and
can have your outfits compliment one another for func-

3.Khanna Jewellry (Delhi)
- Beautiful elaborate sets. I
particularly adore the kundan sets here. Check out their
range in Karol Bagh.
4.Crescent Mall (Delhi) - If
you have a taste for designer
clothes, Crescent Mall will satisfy your shopping taste buds!
Popular designers include: JJ
Valaya, Satya Paul, Ashima
Leena, Mandira Wirk and
many others. A personal favourite is Mandira Wirk as her
style is unique and appealing.
5.BGs (Delhi) - A great place
for you to buy all your accessories, ranging from bindis to
purses.
Important tip: Choose
the right pair of shoes,
the perfect fit.
I would strongly suggest buying a good pair of heels locally
from a trusted brand. Some
examples of brands that are durable and affordable are: Aldo,
Nine West, Russel Bromley.
Bear in mind that the weight
of an elaborate lehnga can be
up to 9kgs in weight. It would
be tragic for your heels to give
way on your big day! Moreover,
whichever pair of shoes you do
buy, make sure you’ve walked
in them prior to the function.
This will enable the shoe to
“open up” a bit and be more
comfortable for you to dance
the night away blister-free.
Most importantly, remember
to ‘keep calm and keep shopping!’

The Do’s and
Don’ts of Choosing
Your Bridal Outfit
Get the Bollywood Look on your Big Day
Looking like the ultimate
Bollywood heroine is often
sought after by many brides
to be. Achieving a similar
look to your favourite heroine
can be achieved if you follow
these top tips:
1)
2)
(Photo

Tarun Tahilliani bridal collection illustrates that this year,
gold is the new red for brides.
His collection is absolutely gorgeous but might burn a deep hole
in your pocket.
March 2015
Finding the perfect outfit can be
quite a challenge for any bride to be.
There are so many options on the market but which one is right for you and
how do you make the right decision on
what you should be wearing on your big
day.
DON’T leave your bridal outfit
shopping too late.
The early bird gets the worm and you
want to make sure you have had ample
time to choose the most show stopping and jaw dropping outfit that will
leave all the right impressions on your
guests. In order to do this, you need
time to weigh up your options and consider the right look for you.
DO focus first on finding the
best wedding dress silhouette
for you.
One easy way to limit your options
is to choose a silhouette that will highlight your best-loved assets and conceal
your less-favourable traits. To start, figure out which of these body types best
defines your figure: Petite, plus size,
busty, hourglass or lean and straight.
DON’T forget about the top of
your bridal outfit.
Just remember that the top of your
bridal outfit is what people will notice
most—and what will show up in most
wedding pictures. Make sure you have
a beautiful veil or dupatta if you want
to stand out even more.
DON’T pick a bridal outfit just
because it’s trendy now.
Trendy wedding dresses won’t necessarily stand the test of time and you
should be looking for a timeless bridal
outfit. When you feel sexy and glamorous in a gown that has both modern
and traditional elements, you’ve found
your timeless gown. It’s something that
will never go out of style.
DO consider the wedding day
celebration and the type of
event you will be hosting.
Whether it is a traditional South
Asian Wedding or an East meets West
fusion wedding, you want your bridal
outfit to reflect your wedding overall.
If you are stuck for ideas, I recommend checking out zeeia.com which
offer a range of bridal outfits to suit
a variety of wedding occasion styles,
including gowns, lenghas, saris and
anarkali suits. There is something for
everyone on the site to suit all budgets
and requirements. What is especially
convenient is the fact outfits are semi
stitched so can be made to suit your requirements and size.
Prepare
beforehand
and groom well, this
includes nails, skin
and hair. Before your
wedding day invest in
a manicure, pedicure,
facial and hot hair oil
treatment to ensure
you look your best.
Make sure your outfits
are coordinated well.
Your accessories need
to compliment not
clash in order to make
the right statement
with your bridal outfit.
3)
Keep outfits elegant
and not too ‘on trend’.
This will leave you
looking sophisticated
and timeless. You want
to look back on your
pictures and recognise
yourself as a Bollywood
beauty.
I have found the perfect
outfits that will make you
look like the ultimate heroine.
Check out the Heroine Collection available from Khwaab.
com. Modelled by Bollywood
Actress Priyanka Chopra, the
collection consists of a range
of beautiful elegant pieces,
each with a defined shape,
style and cut.
If you are getting married
and are looking for three fabulous outfits, I recommend
investing in the Bollywood
collection which will leave
you looking like your favourite Bollywood starlet.
