Shortage of nurses in Germany
- Demand for nurses
•
•
Due to the projected increase of patients needing care, we need in Germany
more people who get involved in the nursing profession. According to the
Federal Statistical Office, in 2011, approximately 952,000 people are
employed in the elderly care sector, of which about 31% (291,000) in
ambulatory care services and 69% (661,000) in nursing homes ...
Due to the expected increase in the number of people needing care, the
demand for nurses in the coming decades will continue to rise sharply. For
this purpose, it is important to take precautions.

Have you ever wanted to work in another EU country? Here are ten good reasons why you
should now prepare your resume and pack your bags ...
1.
You get to know other cultures and ways of working. According to Martin Davidson, Chief Executive of the British
Council are, 79% of employers believe that intercultural skills and knowledge of other cultures in the recruitment of candidates
are more important than the financial statements for a particular career.
2.
You can increase your resilience and adaptability. Working in another EU country means that you need to adapt to a
new way of life, make new friends and take on new challenges. You will be more independent and resilient.
3.
So you increase, your employability both in your home country as well as in other EU countries "Applicants who
receive job offers, show determination and perseverance ... and which meet the requirements when they are sent halfway
around the world to work on a customer project," said Stephen Isherwood, Head of Graduate Recruitment at Ernst & Young.
4.
You learn to speak another language fluently. Have you always dreamed to speak a foreign language like a native
speaker? If you live and work in another EU country, you can learn another language. This ability will remain for the rest of your
life and will bring you personal and professional benefits.
5.
You improve your living conditions or salary. Since 1957, EU citizens have the right to work in Europe. Use that
right! If you would like to live in a country where the cost of living is lower, or want to work in a country, where you can earn
more in your working field, moving within the EU, could be the right step for you.
Have you ever wanted to work in another EU country? Here are ten good reasons why you
should now prepare your resume and pack your bags ...
6.
Give your ideas to your new EU colleagues. Swap your work habits and experience with your new colleagues abroad.
Maybe you can bring labor practices from your home country to a nursing team in France or previous research into a team of
engineers in Denmark.
7.
You show leadership and initiative. "By taking the initiative and apply for a job abroad, prepare your trip, take care of
your papers and develop relations with people of other cultures, you show leadership," said jobsabroad.com.
8.
You discover yourself and your new community. Get involved as a volunteer in your new local community. Or join a
ski club in Spain or a diving club in Bratislava. If you live abroad, you can teach your friends your native language and culture
(and feel as an important member of your new community).
9.
You occupy a niche market. Do you have skills (or you can quickly acquire skills) that are needed in other EU
countries? Bring in experience, in which countries your subject is asked. Maybe you know business ideas that have succeeded
in your country and you could implement in another Member State.
10.
Finally you have the chance to live in any European country of your choice and work. EU law gives you across
the EU the same rights as local workers. Find out in advance about your rights. The European Health Insurance Card
guarantees EU citizens health care in all Member States. If you get a job offer, you only need to book a plane or a train - you
don’t need papers, visas or work permits.
