Interviewer: What is something you enjoy about academics in the First Chance Afterschool Program?
Jaliah: I like the way math is made into a game, it made it easier for me to learn my division.
Interviewer: What are some recreational activities offered in the First Chance Afterschool Program &
which activities do you enjoy the most?
Jaliah: I enjoy computer lab, Spanish club and learning the word of the day. It allows me to work on my
math skills, learn new words and a new language!

Interviewer: Why do you enjoy coming to the program?
Jaliah: Because it’s fun, I get to try and learn new things and it’s making me a better person.
Interviewer: What is your favorite food to eat during the program?
Jaliah: Baked chicken & mashed potatoes.

I like the African American Inventor, Alfred
Cralle because on February 2, 1897 he invented
the ice cream disher. You know it’s hard to scoop
ice cream out with a spoon and now it’s easier to
scoop ice cream with this invention. Alfred Cralle
makes me feel happy to eat ice cream because it’s
faster and easier for me to get my ice cream. He
makes me feel like going to an ice cream shop or
Dairy Queen.
