Diosese Music
Workshop
Their aim is musical and liturgical formation of youth. Founded objective
pursued at levels: musical, liturgical, religious and community. This creates not
so much a particular choir - closed group, but rather a space where anyone can
find himself and join in closer cooperation.
Orchestra
of Salt Mine
Bochnia
Founded in 1880. Undoubtedly contributed to creation of a special climate that
highlights the mining origins and nature of Bochnia. Currently, the Orchestra
has 30 musicians, and these are mostly young people, but in its ranks there’s
no shortage of experienced miners-musicians. It has a very wide repertoire of
traditional mining-tunes, through classical to popular music and pop.
Folk Group
Siedlecanie
The artistic program of Siedlecan group includes traditional songs and dances
of the native region of Krakow. The team popularizes folklore of the region,
instilling a passion for folk art. The repertoire also includes national dances.
Brass Orchestra
Okulice
Established in 1936. It presents a diverse repertoire during the ceremony of
state, church, municipal, county, as well as national and international.
Youth Brass
Orchestra of
Baczków
It was established at the parish. John the Baptist in Mikluszowicach, now
operates under the supervision of the Municipal Cultural Centre of Reading
and Sport in Bochnia. Its constantly richer and extremely diverse repertoire is
successfully presented on many surveys, competitions and festivals.
Nazaret
The Group consists of six friends who transmit their fascination for creativity.
Concerts of the group are not so much a form of artistic presentation, but
the prayer dressed in sound. Lyrics, compositions and arrangements are fully
created by the group themselves.

Duet of musicians from Guinea who are comming to WYD with Guinean group
of pilgrims to shere they culture, passion and above all their faith in God.

NICOLAI
Music group that consists of over 100 amateur singers, mainly children and
youth, who aim to promote music culture and liturgical singing. The choir
performs sacred versatile repertoire, which includes both a cappella works from
the sixteenth to twenty-first century, including combinations of two choir and
multi-vocal, and more vocal-instrumental forms, as well as Negro Spirituals and
the standards of modern music.
Amateur Choir SALT
SINGERS
Amateur choir established 2004 in the Municipal House of Culture in Bochnia,
currently has 25 members. It performs a varied repertoire of sacred music by
the classical entertainment.

IMPRATEAM
Members of Imprateam have professionally hosted parties and music events
since 1998. They organize minor and major music and dance events. Experience
gathered upon many years make them meet the needs of every participant of
their events. They take part in many dancing and singing workshops throughout
the country and support music projects dedicated to the saint John Paul II. KRAKOWIACY
ZIEMI
BRZESKIEJ
The band was founded 40 years ago. In its repertoire has traditional dances
of Eastern Krakowiaks, linked to traditional customs of the region. The band
has won a lot of prizes, and performed throughout the country and abroad.
The main goal set by the band is to preserve cultural heritage of the region, its
traditions, customs, clothing and folklore. FOLK BAND
PORĘBIANIE
The band „Porębianie” was founded in 1991 in the village Poręba Spytkowa.
It consist of 70 members of various age and characteristics. In its programs,
presents traditional dances and folk songs of Eastern Krakow region. It also
cultivates old rituals and tradition of the land. Performes in festivals as well as
sport and charity events both in Poland and abroad. ZIARENKA
NADZIEI
Group consists of children form local elementary schools. The main idea of
creating it was formation for the kids through music animations and singing
performances. The group performs at different kinds of celebration events. KASIH WORSHIP

FOLK BAND
“NASZ TATA”
This folk group is composed of musicians from different generations: kids,
parents and grandparents, previously only family members, latter enlarged by
neighbors and friends from local community. The group cultivates traditions of
Western Cracowians and Małopolska region. They perform in regional clothing
and use original dialect of the region.
LAS RAKA
Las Raka is a very recent project created by young musicians from Chrzanów. They
perform along with various guests known from music stages in Chrzanów. On
July 27th, the group will perform their original repertoire, mostly electroacustic
rock.
PLAY AND PRAY
Play & Pray interesting example of young group performing Christian music.
Their repertoire is a fusion of various kinds of modern music oscillating around
praise & worship. Beautiful instrumental sounds are enriched by two female
voices. The music performed by Play&Pray is a result of realization of life
passion and reflection of faith to God Almighty! Beside promoting Christian
values, group aim to provide good fun for the audience, spontaneous worship

DANCES
Group of friends, connected by mutual passion to music and joy. They have
learned they skills to host events from masters of the art. Their interesting and
creative ideas, experience, openness and spontaneity assure great atmosphere

“Zręczyce”

Youth band that cultivates traditions of Gdów region, presents traditional regional
dances: krakowiak, chodzony, polka and polonez, as well as regional songs. The band is a
transmitter of local tradition and cultural heritage.
The Regional Band Gdowianie has cultivated the traditions of Gdow’s folklore for over
30 years. The team collects repertoire based on carefully collected original folk songs
and melodies that accompanied generations of our ancestors. Drawing on the wealth
and folk traditions with passion and love brings contemporary heritage of generations. In
addition to classics like krakowiak and polka, band performs long-forgotten dances such
as; „Cross” or „Jew”. Present at major festivals and folklore in the country. The band has
won many prestigious awards, inter alia 1st prize at the XXXIX Festival of Folk Bands and
Singers in Kazimierz in 2005. In 2009 the band released its first album, which is available
at the Cultural Centre in Gdów.
Full Power
Spririt
Polish music band that creates in Christian music stream, mostly rap. The band performed
three times at the biggest Christian music festival in Eastern Europe – Festival Songs
of Songs in Toruń, also gave a performance in famous polish radio channel “3”. The
band performed also abroad (inter alia at the WYD in Cologne, Germany). Their song:
“Immortal” has been used in movie “Popiełuszko. Freedom is inside us”.
ARGENTO
Created in July 2014. It is composed of a group of friends sharing a common passion
for singing. The team’s objective is to expand knowledge and skills in the field of choral
music and the need to make music together. Team Argento has a repertoire of songs with
religious themes, folk and entertainment.
Brass Band of
Gmina Gdów
Brass Band Municipalities Gdów, have performed continuously since 1966, in October
2016 celebrated its 50-year anniversary. Twenty-nine members under the direction of
Adam Czyżowski won numerous awards at music festivals. Orchestra promotes marching
music and entertainment, adding splendor to state ceremonies, local church, gives about
20 concerts a year. In 2008 Brass Band represented the district Wieliczka and the
Municipality Gdów on Brass Band Celebration Day in Munich.
New Day
New Day is an unique band at the stage of “good music”. Rafał Boniśniak – the leader,
drummer and composer - started it in 2002 inspired by his journey to Africa. In 2005
New Day performed as main Polish representative in Kolonia on request of organizers
of WYD.
EKG band
The band consists of 5 members and plays exceptionally live music. Their performances
bases on rich cover repertoire, both polish and foreign hits (pop, rock, rock’n’roll, latino
and much more). Band members are educated musicians, experienced in performing on
prestigious music festivals in Poland and abroad.

Ichtus Musique
Although he claims that he wants to be „an ordinary priest of a parish”, he’s far away
from being just ordinary. Father Jakub Bartczak, probably the best rapper among polish
priests and the only priest among polish rappers. Father Jakub is 32 years old and works
as a vicar at the Saint Elizabeth Parish. He’s been a priest for 6 years, before that he’s
been a rapper. One year ago he decided not to resign from his love to music. So far he
has made one album, and his records enjoy popularity.
The actress is known from many TV shows (e.g. “Klan”, “M jak miłość” etc. which
are famous series in the Polosh TV). She’s also the author of the book “The Converted
Witch”. Converted and cured also by exorcisms. Her strong and inspiring testimony has
already helped a lot of people. Soul’n Voices means youth, spontaneity, expression and joy of singing. Their records are
a rarity in our record business. Great sounding tutti, perfect arrangements, a great joy of
playing excellent musical material. Jazz, gospel, funk & soul. Soul’n Voices is a diversity
of sound and characters. In spite of their different personalities they are connected by
passion, passion to music. Here they develop themselves and realize their dreams. The
set of temperaments and millions of ideas make every rehearsal and every show a huge
challenge but also a huge pleasure. And this is only the beginning of their story. Soul’n
Voices’s records are famous because of their unusual jazz-gospel arrangement. It’s the
first project of this kind in Krakow.
Ichtus is a music group founded during different diocesan activities. It offers a one-hour
concert of christian music in different styles (Pop, Rock, Praise, Soul, etc). It is a mixture
of Ichtus’s own compositions and their covers of well-known Christian songs.

ARTIST DESCRIPTION
Red Vipers
The youth band Red Vipers was founded in 2015. It consists of self-taught
musicians who compose music and write lyrics themselves. The youngest 16-yearold Kacper plays the drums, Jasiek Kania the guitar, Konrad Olejnik the bass and
singing is Darek Furgała’s task. They are writing compositions, giving concerts and
entertaining listeners with their music the whole time.

Jan Budziaszek
Jan Budziaszek is a polish drummer related to the band Skaldowie since 1965.
Janusz Saługa is a talented musician and artist from Małopolska. They have been
playing music together for almost 20 years. Perfectly understanding each other
at the stage they sing about things which are the most important in life and
create an unique atmosphere during their concerts. They will perform together
with the trumpeter Bartłomiej Zdziecha.
Redlin
The founders of the Redlin Band - Krzysztof Drożniak and Sławomir Malinowski
– are still the main part of the music group. At the beginning they were
concentrated on Celtic Music but different musical interests and an inspiration
by world folk caused a wider repertoire of songs. The Band has had a constant
contact with the audience by giving over 800 concerts at occasional and
business events in Poland and abroad as well as via visits at radio stations and
their participation in TVP and TVN programs. Their activity resulted in a poprock-folk sound and a great expression of the musicians. The artists frequently
leave the stage in order to have fun together with the audience and to establish

Ziółkowska
Maria Krawczyk-Ziółkowska is a very talented vocalist, conductor and
composer. She has higher music education. She is founder of a music
band – Małe Ważne Sprawy in 2006. She has worked with a lot of artists,
arranged many worship events, and created Symphonic Chaplet of the
Divine Mercy whose premiere took place in Łagiewniki on the 3rd April
2016 – on Divine Mercy Day.
Anafora
The music group Anafora was founded in Myslenice in 2009. Since 2016
the group has been a member of the Talent Academy of Myślenice. The
Anafora is composed of young people. Their manager Jarosław Pietrzak
is a history teacher. They have made a lot of projects about our national
history. The members of the Anafora take part in many concerts and other
music performances. Anafora’s musicians recored a CD called Myślenicki
Patriotyzm.
Lux’ Vivens
The Lux’ Vivens was formed in September 2010 after meeting of 2 students
whose passion is music. Their music is about God and faith. The band
plays Christian rock. During World Youth Day this French music group will
perform in Myślenice and will show pilgrims and local community, how
great is the love of God.

The Crazy Accordion Trio plays cover songs. They aim to show that the accordion
is a very versatile instrument and they can play variety of sounds. In their
performances they show great passion for music.

Myślenicka
Folk group Ziemia Myślenicka connects folk and show with colorful folk
costumes and folk band. Ziemia Myślenicka was formed in September 1986 and
its first concert took place in July 1987. The group is composed of adults, youths
and children. They have performed in many cities in Poland and all over the
world. The group is a member of Myślenickie Towarzystwo Kultury.
Porozumienie
Porozumienie was formed at the beginning of 20th century. The music group has
started playing concerts in 2003. Music of this band has evolved. Nowadays, they
play Christian grunge/garage. They sing about love, life, family, relationship with
God. Porozumienie recorded a few CDs and music videos. They helped in creating
World Youth Day Anthem in Cologne 2005.
Regional Band
Cyrniawa from
Krzeczowa
Folk band Cyrniawa was formed in Krzeczów in 2011. Name Cyrniawa means the
north mountainside of Luboń (Luboń borders Krzeczów), where in the II World
War Józef Łabuz soldier from Krzeczów hid and later was murdered. John Paul II is
a saint patron of this group. Cyrniawa is composed of adults, youths and children.
They have given plenty of performances in our country and abroad and won a lot
of competitions. They also sing in the church. The aim of the group is to show
Krzeczów’s tradition.

„Robcusie” i
„Robcanie”
Group Robcusie are associated with Podhalan Association of Gorczański
District, and has got a colorful and long history. Their roots reach the
interwar period. Founded in 1935 was at the time the only children’s folk
group in Podhale region.
Majeranki
Majeranki is a folk group composed of young people who are passionate
about their local culture on material, spiritual and social dimension. The
group has won a lot of prizes at the contests in Poland and abroad.
Choir
“Wniebogłosy”
Composed of both professional musicians and talented amateurs
connected by mutual passion for music. Often performs accompanied
by musical instruments.
Brass Band
OSP z RabkiZdroju. Firewatch Brass Band of the Voluntary Fire Brigade plays a special part
in the history of Rabka. They add splendor to festivals and ceremonies
organized by the town, and has become one of tourist attractions.

Since it’s beginning in 1984 the bands has cultivated musical and dance folklore of
the Mogilan region. It tries to show on scene the folk customs and traditions of the
village near Kraków as loyally as possible. The actual composition of the musical
group reflects the traditional set of instruments of the ancient music of Kraków
(accordions called “Heligonka”, violins, a clarinet, a trumpet, three strings basses).
The repertoire of the group was worked out based on the materials gained e.g.
form the Ethnographic Museum of Kraków and via interviews conducted in the
community of Mogilany. The today’s show will let the spectators move back to
Mogilany at the end of the XIX. century. The Band will show us how the rural
people of that time gathered to sing, to dance and to have a good time after hard
work.
The originator of the whole project is Natalia Postrzech, the guardian and artistic
director (…) Marek Harbaczewski, the music director (…) Ewa Kapelska-Słysz.The
team is formed by the habitants of the Community Siepraw who maintain and
show with great energy and passion the customs and traditions of their ancestors.
The main stimulus of the group is the will to cultivate the familiar folk traditions.
Since the beginning the “Sieprawianie” take part in various events presenting
verbal and music staging. The Group has got it’s own regional costumes, it is
actively involved in the cultural life of the community of Siepraw and participates
in competitions and festivals in the country and abroad. The Folk Group will show
traditional dances and songs of the near Kraków regions.
It is formed by people united by the love to God and to music. Singing about
Him in various places they show that “It is Worth to Live for that Love”. In their
repertoire one can find religious music of different types. For some years they have
beensinging Gospel and organising all-Poland Gospel Workshops in Siepraw. The
charismatic conductor of the group is Ewa Kapelska. The unforgettable musical
arrangements of the tracks are done by Szymon Mankiewicz. The band “Angela”
invites you to a fascinating voyage into the world of Christian music. As part of the
Youth Festival in Siepraw there will take place vocal workshops and an open-air
performance of the Band.

She has been interested in music since early childhood.
Started her music adventure as a little girl in choir at local
parish in Chrzanów. For many years has developed her vocal
skills and has performed at music festivals in Poland and
abroad. She has also recorded radio broadcasts for Radio
Kraków. For many years she has been interested in French
music as well as Lvivs, which allowed her to perform with
success at the French and Lvivs music festivals. Currently

has performed on and won a lot of prizes in local music
contexts and festivals.

ANASTASIS (Resurrection) – incredibly powerful music band from Dolny Śląsk,
whose musicians have been proudly composing and telling about God for 16
years. In 2006, Anastasis performed at Błonia in Cracow during Saint Pope
Benedict XVI visit.
Ryan shares his personal Catholic experience with powerful drumming, heartfelt songs and true and sometimes hilarious stories. The show is about his love
of the people and sacraments of the Catholic Church and his newly-discovered
appreciation of the power of both in his life. Ryan discovered the teachings in
Saint Pope John Paul II’s book, Theology of the Body, to be one of the driving
forces behind his commitment and journey to inspire a generation to come with
his message set to music. In this Jubilee Year of Mercy, Ryan will sing the Good
News of God’s merciful love and share the story of what it’s like to meet Pope
Francis! Delivered with a lot of love and humor, this is a show that leaves you
smiling inside and out.
New Day is an unique band at the stage of “good music”. Rafał Boniśniak – the
leader, drummer and composer - started it in 2002 inspired by his journey to
Africa. In 2005 New Day performed as main Polish representative in Kolonia on
request of organizers of WYD.
