Big thanks to Tiffin Elementary PTO for the outstanding
Christopher Canyon Program!!! It was phenomenal!!!!
Thanksgiving gives us another opportunity to give thanks with
family and friends for our many gifts. I am truly thankful to be a
part of the Krout 2-3 Elementary School Community and to work
with your students every day. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Attendance: A Key to Your Student’s SUCCESS
Research shows that children who are in school most of the time do
better on standardized tests. Studies also show that kids who are
absent more, score lower on standardized tests. Being late for
school hurts a child’s learning, too. Children can copy notes or
make up an assignment, but they can never get back what is most
important: the discussions, the questions, the explanations by the
teacher and the thinking that makes learning come a live.
Please make every effort to have your child on time and in school
every day!!
A Message from Tiffin City Schools Food Service
This is a friendly reminder that all lunch money must be sent in a
sealed envelope on Mondays. (No loose money) Please have the
child's name and amount on the outside. This is for the lunch
cashier who will record the money on your child's account. Make
checks payable to TCS Food Service department. If you have any

Elementary Spirit Night Follow-Up- Thank you to all of the
families who came out for our first Elementary Spirit Night event!
We enjoyed beautiful weather and a great family gathering before the
football game. A special thank you goes out to the following teachers,
staff and parents who volunteered to help:

Box Tops and Labels- Thank you for sending in your Box Tops and
Labels for Education this month. The money that we earn from this
program helps to fund our students’ field trips each year. For more

your effort and enthusiasm for this program!
We need a “Copy Guru”! – Would you like to help us occasionally
make copies of reminders that go home and distribute them to the

Mrs. Burlile and Mr. Vogel Share Clay
Sculptures!!
On October 25 the art room hosted a special visitor,
Mr. John Vogel, art teacher at Angola High School in
Angola, Indiana. Mr. Vogel completed his student
teaching with Mrs. Burlile at Krout in 2012. After
sharing a picture book with the class, he provided a
special surprise for the students in Mrs. Arnold's
second grade. Art students in Angola's ceramics
class created a unique clay sculpture for each student,
based on the theme of the book.
We thank Mr. Vogel and his students for sharing
their time and talents with us here at Krout!
