Fair and Balanced
There appears to be growing number of
political pundits that are of the opinion
that President Obama is not fit to be
President of the United States. Without
shame, the critics have been outright
malicious and disrespectful toward this
President. The JOES’s have been coming
out of the woodwork with apologies
from Joe Wilson with his infamous “You
Lie” and Joe Barton with his accusation
of an Obama “shakedown” of BP.
Could you imagine the media firestorm that would
have erupted if then Senator Obama had publicly
admonished George Bush before a joint session of
Congress because of his disapproval of the Iraq war?
Somehow I think that an apology would not have
sufficed and all would not have been forgiven and
forgotten.
In fairness, it’s sometimes difficult to determine if
fellow Democrats are friend or foe. It’s amazing that
a party in the majority can’t seem to unify with
constant infighting between splinter groups consisting
of progressives, liberals, and blue dogs.
Despite lukewarm support from his own
party in conjunction with the Republican
Party of NO, President Obama deserves
credit for his leadership and guidance
through one of the most difficult economic
times in this nation. This administration has
tackled Wall Street, health care reform and
expanded hate crime legislation just to
name a few, all while winding down the
Iraq war and managing an offensive front
in Afghanistan and overseeing the largest
oil spill in history.
I believe that our current state of divisiveness is due
in part to the distortion of facts by right wing media
outlets. Since there are those that are hell bent on
wanting the President to fail and the media’s lack of
any semblance of “fair and balanced” reporting – it
has become long overdue for those of us that can
discern fact from fiction to support this President.
If we are not willing to get behind him and this
administration, I say we don’t deserve this President –
President Barack Obama

What are the symptoms of dehydration?
Your summer vacation just wouldn't be complete without these
Summer 2010 must-haves!
The following are the most common symptoms of dehydration, although
each individual may experience symptoms differently. Symptoms may
include: thirst, less-frequent urination, dry skin, fatigue, light-headiness,
dizziness, confusion, dry mouth and mucous membranes, increased heart
rate and breathing.
In children, additional symptoms may include: dry mouth and tongue, no
tears when crying, no wet diapers for more than 3 hours, sunken abdomen,
eyes or cheeks, high fever, listlessness, irritability, skin that does not
flatten when pinched and released
1) Urban Decay's Shimmer Eye shadow Primer - helps shadows
last ALL day, use as a browbone highlighter or wear alone for
perfectly shimmering lids
2) Peter Thomas Roth's Mineral SPF - a talc-free transparent
SPF 30 mineral powder in a convenient brush applicator for instant
sun protection anytime. There's an oil-free formula too!
Treatment for dehydration:
If caught early, dehydration can often be treated at home under a
physician's guidance. In children, directions for giving food and
fluids will differ according to the cause of the dehydration, so it is
important to consult your pediatrician.
In cases of mild dehydration, simple rehydration is recommended
by drinking fluids. Many sports drinks on the market effectively
restore body fluids, electrolytes, and salt balance.
For moderate dehydration, intravenous fluids may be required,
although if caught early enough, simple rehydration may be
effective. Cases of serious dehydration should be treated as a
medical emergency, and hospitalization, along with intravenous
fluids, is necessary. Immediate action should be taken.
3) Cargo's Water Resistant Bronzer - this water resistant bronzer
will stay put. Perfect for humity, outdoor activities, and oily skin

How can dehydration be prevented?
Take precautionary measures to avoid the harmful effects of
dehydration, including Drink plenty of fluids, especially when
working or playing in the sun. Make sure you are taking in more
fluid than you are losing. Try to schedule physical outdoor
activities for the cooler parts of the day. Drink appropriate sports
drinks to help maintain electrolyte balance. For infants and young
children, solutions like Pedialyte will help maintain electrolyte
balance during illness or heat exposure. Do not try to make fluid
and salt solutions at home for children.

Preston Brown and James “Chocolate Chip” Johnston has teamed up with Tony Boaz of Norfolk, Virginia to
form the new Soul Radio Network. Brown say’s if all parties agree with what’s on the table, 20,000 watts Radio
station 670am in Norfolk, Virginia will be the first station signed on to be part of the Soul Radio Network. The
plans are to simulcast Soul Music across the country to as many stations willing to sign up. Brown say’s we have
been broadcasting soul music live over the internet and now it’s time to put it on the radio dials. Many older
listeners that love the old soul music don’t have computers. The format will still consist of Soul Oldies, Blues,
Southern Soul, and Talk shows catering to black concerns. While most radio stations have gone to Conservative
Talk, Urban R&B and Hip Hop, there is a big following of adult music that is never played on radio. With
670am the station will be heard from Richmond to Virginia Beach on the dial but around the world by internet.

6 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT LOAN MODIFICATION SCAMS
BY: KIMBERLY OCASIO
Scams aren't always easy to spot – but it helps if you know the warning signs to look for. Here are six red flags to indicate that you may be
dealing with a loan modification scammer:
2.
A company/person asks for a fee in advance to work with your lender to modify, refinance or reinstate your mortgage. They
may pocket your money and do little or nothing to help you save your home from foreclosure.
A company/person guarantees they can stop a foreclosure or get your loan modified. Nobody can make this guarantee to stop
foreclosure or modify your loan. Legitimate, trustworthy HUD-approved counseling agencies will only promise they will try their
very best to help you.
3.
A company/person advises you to stop paying your mortgage company and pay them instead. Despite what a scammer will tell
1.
you, you should never send a mortgage payment to anyone other than your mortgage lender. The minute you have trouble making
your monthly payment, contact your mortgage lender.
4.
A company pressures you to sign over the deed to your home or sign any paperwork that you haven't had a chance to read,
and you don't fully understand. A legitimate housing counselor would never pressure you to sign a document before you had a
chance to read and understand it.
5.
A company claims to offer "government-approved" or "official government" loan modifications. They may be scam artists
posing as legitimate organizations approved by, or affiliated with, the government. Contact your mortgage lender first. Your lender
can tell you whether you qualify for any government programs to prevent foreclosure. And, remember, you do not have to pay to
6.
benefit from government-backed loan modification programs.
A company/person you don’t know asks you to release personal financial information online or over the phone. You should
only give this type of information to companies that you know and trust, like your mortgage lender or a HUD-approved counseling
agency.

It was Christmas in June with Sheriff C.T.Woody
A
Left to Right: DeAntonio Bosher, Jr, Sheriff C.T. Woody, Jr. Marsheta Whitlow, (resident)DeAntonio Bosher (holding) S’Kiyha Bosher
It was Christmas in June for a select group of 53 jail residents, fathers who have been separated from their children for at least 30
days, when they were granted a special one hour contact visit from their children on Father’s Day. Christmas in June was Sheriff
C.T. Woody’s desire to reconnect fathers with their children. For one jail resident, he was able to see and hold his one-week old
daughter for the very first time.
NOW IN RICHMONDPENING IN RADIO
Those selected were participants in the Fatherhood Training Program or were recommended by jail staff. For the last two years,
the Richmond City Jail has offered to jail residents a Fatherhood Training Program which helps develop parenting skills and
reiterates the importance of male leadership within a home structure.
While men are taught from early childhood to be tough as nails, it was evident from the display of emotions in the room that men
can be emotional. Several men were observed tearing up and when it was time to conclude the visit, they didn’t want it to end.
According to several of the residents, just having an opportunity to hold their children meant more to them than anyone could ever
imagine.
Part of the visit included offering the residents an opportunity to have a photograph taken with their children. The photographer
was careful to make all sure all the men looked crisp and neat before the picture was taken.
Sheriff Woody said, “I want to reward the males who were selected. Regardless of what their home situation may have been, I
sincerely hope they have learned the importance of being a better father to their children.” Woody continued, “Their participation
in the Fatherhood Program shows they are on their way to becoming a better parent.”
This is not the first time Sheriff Woody has granted contact visits to residents. He has granted similar visits to female residents.
Maybe, just maybe other Sheriffs and Directors of Jails will follow and emulate Sheriff Woody. Perhaps the Richmond voters
knew what they were doing when they elected him sheriff.

Da Truth
Ty Tribett
Gospel singer Ty Tribett is rumored to have gotten his best friend and
choir member's baby momma pregnant. Now you can say you have heard
it here. The tenor is known as Bonez and is said to be devastated by this
horrible situation. Although, it is the understanding of Obnoxious that
Bonez was not currently involved with his child's mother presentlymeanwhile Ty has moved back in with his mother and is said to have set
himself down from ministry. Ty's wife is said to have filed for divorce.
Now this freaky behavior has caused Ty's choir to split and might not
recover from this horrible blow. It would not be so bad if Ty did not come
off so SELF RIGHTHOUS, known to make alter calls during his
concerts and call out sins and often boast about being real and loving God.
Well, I guess Ty is going to have to put himself on the alter and ask God
forgive him for his low down sinful ways. How can you screw your bestfriend's baby momma? Now it seems that if you love God so much then
you would at some point be convicted and get a grip on yourself.
Da Truth tells the truth !
Grammy-nominated Gospel rapper Da Truth has allegedly been caught
having an affair with his best friend‟s wife. His best friend was Tye
Tribett, member of Grammy-nominated and Stellar-Award winning gospel
group Tye Tribbett & G.A. and it was his wife that Da Truth was sleeping
with!
Get this: earlier, Tye was caught cheating himself - sleeping with a
member of his choir who was his good friend‟s baby momma. So now
we‟ve caught wind that Da‟ T.R.U.T.H., who is Tye‟s mentee, is having
an affair with Tribbett‟s wife Shante.
Is Shante getting some „get back‟ for Tye cheating on her early this year?
Da‟ T.R.U.T.H. has not straight out said this is true, but then he later went
on his personal website to apologize: “In light of a moral indiscretion in
my personal life, I will be taking a sabbatical from music ministry and
teaching upon fulfilling my current commitments to work closely with my
pastor, church and restoration team.
I have repented first to God and then to my wife and family. It is my
prayer that my family, supporters and the brethren in Christ will
collectively be able to forgive me.”

(RTTNews) - Senate Republicans united to successfully filibuster the Democrats' bill to
extend unemployment benefits and prevent reimbursement cuts against Medicare doctors.
The final vote was 56-40, falling short of the 60 votes Democrats needed to break the
Republican filibuster. The bill would have provided additional aid for the long-term
unemployed, as well as set aside $24 billion for state governments struggling due to being
tight on money.
"We're not going to give up," said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) after the
vote. However, despite Reid's claim, there doesn't appear to be any clear path for
Democrats to move forward on the bill with.
Because the bill was not able to overcome the filibuster, around 900,000 people who have
been out of work for at least six months will have their continued benefits cut off , meaning
that those 900,000 are now seeing their benefits ending. In addition, the bill was meant to
prevent an estimated 21% cut in Medicare reimbursements that also became effective on
June 25.
"Every single Republican voted to give doctors a 21% pay cut," Reid said after the vote.
The bill would also include a provision to push back the deadline to close on home
purchases and still qualify for a federal tax credit of up to $8,000. Under the bill, home
buyers would have until September 30 to complete the transaction instead of the current
deadline of June 30.
Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT) expressed frustration over the
filibuster, stating, "To be honest, given the attitude over on the other side of the aisle, I
don't know that there's anything that'll get a vote."
Democrats have been trying to pass the legislation since last year, and have been met with
Republican resistance every step of the way. Despite this, the White House has encouraged
them to keep trying.
"This is not a time to take — to use the metaphor — take our foot off the accelerator," said
Vice President Joe Biden. "We still need to continue to create jobs and spur job growth
now."
Further fueling speculation that House Republican Whip Eric Cantor is mulling a bid for
the White House, new federal election reports show the Virginia Republican recently spent
big bucks on speech coaching. The No. 2 House GOP leader paid $7,697.25 for the services
of ace speaking coaches Roy and Jeanette Henderson. The date listed for those services was
May 28, according to the Cantor congressional campaign's most recent mandatory filing
with the Federal Election Commission. Cantor also dropped another $3,392.55 on a
separate Podium Master seminar back in January.
Among Republicans who are thinking of higher office, Podium Master is a go-to place, and
8 not exactly a secret that Cantor, who has been playing a more visible role lately, is
it's
politically ambitious.

Governor Bob McDonnell over looked Richmond’s top elected officals Senator Henry Marsh and Donald McEachin and picked
former Senator Benjamin Lambert to Co-Chair the Governor’s commission on Government Reform and Restructuring.
Senator McEachin critical of McDonnell’s decision to retain Malek.
Senator McEachin said “The fact remains that Connecticut state pension fund was misused and he had to pay a quarter of a million dollars in fines because of
that.” McEachin supports the idea of the commission and said he will wait to see what it produces. Several democrats have agreed to be a part of this reform
effort. Malek is the man who-on the orders of President Richard Nixon-tried to purge the federal government of Jewish workers. “Yeah, I wouldn’t serve on that
commission with Fred Malek as the head,” McEachin said.
The University of Virginia’s Miller Center of Public Affairs has posted an audio recording of then-President Richard Nixon ordering his chief of staff, H.R. Haldeman, to have
the White House’s personnel chief, Fred Malek, “see what we can do” about Jews in the administration.
The center posted the audio file because Malek has been in the news recently after being tapped by Gov. Bob McDonnell to head a government reform commission. Malek is
also an advisor to Sarah Palin and is a major GOP campaign contributor.
In the July 3, 1971, recording, Nixon says: “I really feel that I want the Jews checked. [Fred] Malek is to particularly check the Jews throughout the administration. He’s got a
Jewish staff in any place — and they’re all over the place, Bob [Haldeman] — and see what we can do about ’em.” Nixon had Malek identify any Jewish officials in the
Bureau of Labor Statistics after Howard Goldstein, the assistant commissioner for labor statistics, offered skeptical testimony before Congress about a recent drop in
unemployment, which had been good political news for the Nixon administration. In the recording, Nixon tells Haldeman: “We’ve got to get a man in charge who is not Jewish
to control the Jewish. Do you understand?” Haldeman replies, “I sure do.”
“The government is full of Jews,” Nixon says. “Second, most Jews are disloyal. You know what I mean? … You have a [Leonard] Garment and a [Henry] Kissinger and,
frankly, a [William] Safire. But, Bob, generally speaking, you can’t trust the bastards. They turn on you.”
McDonnell said recently that he was unaware of Malek’s assignment to seek out Jews for Nixon. Malek has apologized for mistakes he has made in the past.

TheCReal Deal
By: Larry Reid “Church is Now Big Business”
The church is no longer in the business of saving your soul. It is now in the business to save your gold for the pastor
and his cronies. The church is now selling you passes into heaven. All you have to do is give until it hurts. The
church is promising you the prosperity that God said he would give to every man. All you have to do is give some
seed money to the preacher. He will then pray over your money and put it in his pocket. He will then prosper and
you are left in the cold. If you question him, he will say your faith was not strong enough. You will be asked to give
more and the same sequence will occur. There are sermons and tapes for sale. The preacher has books and
pamphlets to sell. None of which are geared to helping you live the life that Christ asked you to live. They are all
about money and how to increase your material wealth. That increase will also be an increase in the church and the
pastor’s pocket.
There must be money in religion. It has to be with all of the churches in Richmond. There are mega churches; there
are store front churches; there are rented buildings to draw the crowds. The ministers have 2 or 3 services a day on
Sunday to reach more people’s pockets. The sermons always have mentions of tithing to the church. You must give
a tenth of your money. The Bible only says that you should give a tenth to thee for all that you have given me. This
can be interpreted as your time, your talents, your crops, or your knowledge. The preachers have decided that it is to
be money. The pastors are only interested in the amount that is brought into the house. Some churches in the
Richmond area require new members that join the church family to provide certificates of employment and W-2
forms to verify what you are making so that they know how much you will be giving. If you don’t give what they
consider your tenth, they will send you a reminder. This is the same procedure that your creditors use. This just like
how any business is run.
Church events come with a price tag. There is a certain church that has an event each year for the public. It
advertises free admission, free food, and free games for the family, health screenings and fellowship for the entire
family. There is a catch. Parking is $20.00. This same church has a catering service that provides for outside
businesses. It also offers meals, very good meals I am told, after each service for a nominal fee. The minister’s says
that the congregation would go out to a restaurant after service, so let the church make that money.
He has set himself up as the CEO of the organization. And in some cases, he sets up his spouse as the assistant. This
makes doubly sure that they are getting the bulk of the money that is being brought in. They are in charge of every
aspect of the churches operation. Some have convinced the members to put everything in his name. The deed to the
church, all assets of the church, and all moneys of the church are now controlled by the minister and his deacons.
The ministers of Richmond pattern themselves after the mega televangelist of the nation. They want the churches
with memberships in the 25,000 range. They want the $1,000 suits, the private planes, and the fancy trappings. They
expect their members to give them these things and you know what? They do! They give lavish gifts for the
preacher’s birthday, his anniversary, for his church anniversary, the “first lady’s birthday, etc. The list goes on and
on. The members that walk to church give money so that the pastor has a luxury car. They dress from the discount
stores so that the preacher can dress from Franco’s.
The pastor is set up among the gods by his members. It is always “my pastor this or my pastor that” or “my pastor
said this or said that”. If the pastor wants then it is given. If the pastor sins, he is forgiven. If the pastor commits a
crime and the trustees want to expel him, the members expel the trustees and keep the pastor.
THE REAL DEAL PART 2
Aa
The church forbids adultery as per the Bible, yet the pastors and his cronies are doing it. The pastors are getting
divorced. . There was a certain pastor in the Richmond area that preached against divorce, yet he got one to be with
his lover from South America and paid his wife to keep quiet. They are homosexual. One such preacher was choir
director of a church here in Richmond and was asked to leave because of alleged inappropriate behavior. Yet he is
now back as the pastor. What is wrong with this picture? They are sexual deviants to the highest degree. Yet the
members see no wrong as long it is the pastor. If other members are caught in the same situations, they are quickly
ostracized to lowest part of Hell.
The church is run like any good profit making business. The church controls all aspect of the congregations’ life.
There are services throughout the week that the members should attend. If they don’t, they asked why they were not
at the service. “After all the preacher’s message was for you”, they say. “You should attend all events, it for the
good of the church”, the minister will say. It is a known fact that an offering is taken at every event. Where does that
money go?
If a member decides that this church is not now fulfilling his or her Christian need and changes church. All hell
breaks loose, especially if the member is a good tithing individual. The deacons will visit that person and almost
threaten them. They are told that they will not be given a letter from that church to go to another church. I guess that
once you join a church, it is forever. I don’t think I need anyone’s permission to go where I want to. I guess that
without that letter, you will flounder and roam the earth on Judgment Day because you didn’t stay at that church.
God will condemn to Hell for your misdeed.
The preachers are paid a very handsome salary, which I can’t deny that maybe he deserves, for doing the churches
work. He is charged with visiting and comforting the sick members, preaching a member home going service, and
performing weddings for congregation members. I said charged with, not charging for these services. In most cases,
he has his henchmen, the deacons, to do a lot of these things while he fat cats and cavort around town.
There must be good money in religion. It has to be with all of the people in seminary. Most of them choose to go.
They have never adhered to the passage that says,” many are called but few are chosen”. After all, the basic salary
for a minister is $50,000 TO $100,000 dollars. That is good money any where you go.
The true pastors are all gone. Those were the ministers that preached the Bible to save your soul. They were paid
through offerings from the flock. Jesus never asked for a salary and he was the world’s best pastor. They did not sell
tapes; pray clothes, and holy oil to sell. They held revivals for the people to come to Christ and be saved. Now the
preachers are on a circuit to preach revivals for a fee. What is religion coming to?
As people of color, we rely too heavily on religion. If a man has a good idea, he must become a minister and attach
his idea to religion. No great Black leader has risen from the common man, but from religious community. Dr. King
would not have been followed if he was not a minister. The honorable Elijah Muhammad would never been able to
convince the people of his vision without the Muslim faith.
The slaves were organized by the master through religion. The master chose one man and taught him to read the
bible. He was then instructed to preach fire and brimstone to keep the slaves in line. For this he was rewarded with
the better food, the finer clothes and better accommodations. He enjoyed these things and believed that God had
called him to lead the flock in the way of the white master. He felt justified in asking his flock for more. After all he
held their salvation in his hand through the Bible. Nothing has changed since then. The preacher still preaches the
masters word. He stills believes that he will be your key to Heaven. Only God opens the gate to Heaven to you by
your actions and deeds. No preacher can preach you into Heaven. If you follow his actions too close, he may just get
you into Hell. After all, he is only in it for the business of making money.
In closing, I hope I have opened some eyes and stepped on some toes. Maybe we can now start acting as a people
instead of the preachers puppets. Take control of your churches. Take control of your church life. Most of all take
charge of your church’s finances. Don’t allow any minister to dictate to your members, no matter how dynamic he
is. You control your religious life.
American conservatives. Limbaugh's unique combination
of prevarication and histrionics provided a sense of unity
for otherwise incompatible demographics, such as
Klansmen and Wall Street stock brokers.
For years Limbaugh fooled his audiences into
believing his whining was something much more noble.
Rush Limbaugh gay rumors……
Political commentator, radio host, college drop-out, alleged
closet homosexual, and, as recently revealed, synthetic
heroin drug addict, Rush Hudson Limbaugh III is probably
the best known neocon personality in American radio.
Born in Cape Girardeau, MO, in 1951, Limbaugh spent
many of his formative years pursuing a career in radio.
After using his pilonidal cyst - a congenital birth defect - to
avoid military service in the Vietnam War, Limbaugh
briefly worked for radio stations in Pittsburgh, PA and
Kansas City, MO. Fired from both jobs, he worked as a
wiener salesman for the KC Royals baseball franchise,
eventually slithering back into the radio business.
In 1971 Limbaugh attended Southeastern Missouri
University, where, according to reports, he had a brief but
heated affair with Elliot Sanders. So gay is Limbaugh,
guarantees Sanders, that, "none of his marriages was ever
consummated."
Many of Limbaugh's fans staunchly deny the man's alleged
homosexuality, and Limbaugh himself says the rumors are
politically motivated lies. However, one is forced to doubt
Limbaugh, who has a history of denying and balking at
rumors that are later revealed to be true. His pilonidal
cyst, his pseudonymous career in Pittsburgh radio and his
addiction to Oxycontin are all facts which Limbaugh
initially denied or concealed.
After more failed stints with Missouri radio stations
Limbaugh moved to Sacramento, CA, where he met and
became "friends" with Norm Woodruff, a flamboyant,
openly gay man with a great deal of influence in the local
radio scene. Woodruff, who mentored Limbaugh in the
ways of affluence and elitism (traits Rush mocks today),
would later died of AIDS.
Through his ties to Woodruff Limbaugh was given Morton
Downey, Jr.'s spot on KFBK News Talk 1530 a.m. Within
twelve months Limbaugh had become the most popular
radio personality in Sacramento. In 1988 he signed on with
EFM Media Management, working from New York City.
For a short while Limbaugh plateaued, until the success and
enormous popularity of a Democratic president provided
him with a reason to whine.
The popularity and charisma of President Clinton enabled
Limbaugh's hate-filled show to appeal to millions of bitter
By the mid-90's Limbaugh's promoters had co-opted his
show to enough nationwide syndicates to claim Limbaugh
was the "most popular radio personality" in the country.
Technically this was false. However, the free handout out
of Limbaugh's show to any station that wanted it resulted in
Limbaugh being the most listened-to man on a.m. radio.
Inspired by Clinton-induced vitriol, Limbaugh paid a
ghostwriter to author for him See, I Told you so (1992),
Nanny Nanny, Boo Boo (1993), and I'm Rubber. You're
Glue. Whatever You say Bounces off Me and Sticks to You
(1994).
After miserably failing on television, Limbaugh spiraled
into depression, eventually becoming addicted to pain pills
prescribed to him for his pilonidal cyst (a.k.a. "Butt Boil").
For nearly eight years Limbaugh abused Hydrocodone, a
synthetic, stronger version of heroin.
In effect, Limbaugh spent nearly a decade stoned off his
bleeding backside, and ultimately built up his tolerance to
levels requiring dozens of pills per day in order to, as
Limbaugh once confided in his maid, "get my buzz on."
A textbook example of the damning effects of drug abuse,
Limbaugh's addiction precipitated a swift drop in weight,
deafness in both ears, and a marked decline in mental
faculties.
He also became increasingly paranoid - requiring his
provider to meet him at night behind restaurants, next to
dumpsters, where he'd hand over cigar boxes stuffed with
"cabbage" (cash) in exchange for some "little baby blues"
(pills). Limbaugh's desperation peaked in 2003, when he
groped his provider in an attempt to check her for a wire
tap.
By late 2003 the whole world knew of Limbaugh's drug
addiction; though by virtue of their lack of character the
majority of his fan base remained loyal listeners.
Limbaugh’s show remained popular, despite the rapid rise
of Liberal Talk Show host Al Franken and the dogged
attempts by the Bush administration to shut down long time
talk show staple Howard Stern.
In May 2004 Rush's third wife, Marta, grew tired of never
having sex with her allegedly closeted homosexual of a
husband, and so asked for a divorce. Limbaugh complied
after his desperate wife agreed to never reveal the true
nature of Rush's sexual perversion.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT!
It’s been rumored former President of Virginia
State University Eddie Moore now wants to teach
at Virginia State…………….
If we had to single out one American institution that
stands at the forefront of modern day racial
discrimination, deception, and contempt for
fundamental principles of liberty, it would be
America's universities. Under the euphemisms of
affirmative action, multiculturalism or diversity, race
is used as admission criterion and then administrators
swear it isn't. They often restrict free speech and
swear that they don't. Plus, financial improprieties are
not off the agenda. By no means do all universities fit
this description, but enough do so that students,
parents and taxpayers can benefit from taking note.
Virginia State University, a historically black
university in Petersburg, Virginia, is a particularly
egregious example of university life today. Mr. Eddie
Moore has been VSU's president since 1993.
Typically, to earn a presidential appointment, one
must have a doctorate and an academic background.
Mr. Moore has neither, save for an honorary
doctorate bestowed on him by Virginia Union
University. Given Moore's background, his
management of VSU should come as no surprise as
several of his faculty would attest.
One faculty member is 55-year-old Dr. Jean Cobbs,
who has been a professor of sociology at VSU since
1971, having earned her doctorate from the College
of William and Mary. She founded the University's
Social Work Program, had success in soliciting
grants, and received high performance ratings from
1971 to 1993.
In 1994, Dr. Cobbs was fired from her position as
department chairman. In 1995, she was fired as
director of the social work program that she founded
and won accreditation. Mr. Moore's new director lost
that accreditation. In 1996, the University gave Dr.
Cobb a terminal contract; later, the Commonwealth's
Attorney General's office forced the university to
rescind. She has been physically assaulted by a male
faculty member and no action taken. Over the last
five years, she's received 1.2 percent pay raises while
the University average is 5 percent. The list of
various and sundry harassment of Dr. Cobb at the
hands of Eddie Moore and his campus cronies is
virtually without end.
The source of Dr. Cobbs' problems is that she is a
conservative Republican. Mr. Moore, his cronies and
campus neo-Marxists deem it traitorous for blacks to
be either Republican or conservative. Mr. Moore had
other targets for harassment. Dr. Emmanuel Amobi,
Nigerian-born, is an eminent accounting professor
but he's also a conservative Republican. Dr. Amobi
was discriminatorily denied tenure. He sued the
University and won an out-of-court settlement. Drs.
Fathy Saleh, Charles Whyte and chemistry professor,
Dr. Godwin Mbagwu had their research grants taken
away from them by Mr. Moore. These professors
were also Republican and conservative. Drs. Saleh
and Mbagwu sued VSU and the court awarded them
a $1.7 million judgement. Dr. Jean Cobb has brought
suit, alleging scores of charges, in Virginia's Circuit
Court.
You say, "Williams, how can this go on?" Wouldn't
Virginia's Governor's Office, Office of the Attorney
General, the Virginia Council of Higher Education,
and the Commonwealth's House of Delegates know
what's going on at Virginia State University? I
guarantee you that they all know but they're timid and
fearful of being labeled as racists if they took
corrective action. It might be worse than that. It could
be that they hold a racist double standard whereby
predominantly black universities, their administrators
and faculty are exempted from the academic
standards of conduct and decency to which
predominantly white universities are held. The
mystery to me is why professors like Drs. Cobb,
Amobi, Saleh, Whyte and Mbagwu would want to
work at Virginia State University in the first place?

A TIME IN HISTORY…..……. 2
Spencer Perry and Chocolate Chip at WCLM
From the early 20’s to late 60’s Richmond’s 2 nd
Street possessed many black entrepreneurs who made
it against all odds. Spencer Perry now 85 years old
was one of those entrepreneurs.
He owned several businesses throughout his career
but is best known for Perry’s Restaurant at 519 North
2nd Street. Mr. Perry started working in a restaurant
when he was 14 years old. He later entered the
military at 18 years old. After leaving the service and
returning to Richmond he met and married his wife
Barbara in 1954. While his wife attended college he
started working at M& B Headwear.
He saved his money and started loaning fellow
worker money at .25 on a dollar. Soon after that he
began writing and playing numbers. He played the
number 915 and hit enough to buy a car. He soon had
saved enough money to back his own numbers. He
took the money he made with the numbers and
started opening businesses. Back doing those days
the number money ran Richmond. It fed the hunger,
builded churches, send kids to college, employed
people and gave the community a place to borrow
money when in need. A lot of the black businesses
borrowed money from the number backers to get
started, and those in the restaurant and club
businesses was financed by Richmond fixtures. All
the hustlers in town funded the churches and
programs for the youth. When church members
needed help the ministers would send them to the
hustlers.
nd
Street
When asked about Consolidated Bank & Trust
financing black own businesses he said the early
leaders of the bank was more community minded but
in the late 50’s and early 60’s the leadership didn’t
want to lend you money unless you were a educated
professional. Number writers make more money in a
week that a lot of those professional make in a
month.
Mr. Perry is a self taught business man who learn
how to make investments, buy real estate, and he
taught himself the restaurant business. He took
money and make money when black folks didn’t
support to have money. His restaurant was known for
the good food, the safe atmosphere and the place
where anybody who was somebody came. Mr. Perry
remembers some of his famous clients who eat their
when in town like Jerry Butler, Moms Mabley, Bill
Doggett, Aretha Franklin, and he even remembers
when James Brown stay on 2nd Street before he made
it and he slept in the shoe shine parlor at night.
During his career Mr. Perry has owned 2 service
stations, a tailor shop and other restaurants.
Mr. Perry saw the good days of 2nd Street and the
bad days. When integration came and blacks were
able to shop in white stores and to eat at white
restaurant it killed the circulation of money in the
black community. It put hundreds of black
businesses out of business and it also closed down
hundred’s of nip houses, crap houses, after hour
clubs and when the Lottery came it put all the
number writers out of business. Money was taken
out of the community and it was replaced with
drugs. Drugs brought a lot of crime.
Mr. Perry retired in 1987 and he and his wife have
traveled many places around the world. His wife
Barbara taught at George Mason School for 30
years and her best friend is Ethel Johnston the
mother of Richmond radio legend Chocolate Chip.
She is also Chocolate Chip God Mother.

Looking for some encouragement? You‟re lucky today. You may
be relieved to know that there are young teens and adults who are
enthusiastic about stepping up and representing our city positively.
Just when many of us are thinking “What‟s next for the youth?”Here we are, Speak Up Richmond.
Speak Up Richmond is a local youth committee recruiting
from ages thirteen and up. SUR (Speak Up Richmond) is about
helping our youth to recognize their own talents within, sharing
them and encouraging youth of all ages to be more open about
closed in issues that most of them don‟t open up about in normal
conversation exchange. Our number one goal is to do this through
mentoring and community work. Whether it be you‟re a visual
artist, writer, dancer, lyricist, or that you‟re great at bicycling.
Anything you‟re good at is considered talent. Most teens feel they
don‟t have something that separates them from other beings,
believe it or not. This is not true; every individual is blessed with a
mind, their own- to think creatively with. For those who can‟t seem
to find it within themselves, the greatness in them- you are who we
aim to encourage.
The thought of feeling alone is something I –at once- am all
too familiar with. Even though physically I wasn‟t, it‟s easy to
repeatedly think a thought and become too familiar with it, that you
start to believe it. No one deserves to feel that feeling. Looking for
an outlet? Want to help out the community in the process? Contact

Harriet’s Marriage Tips
Question:
Dear Harriet, after 10 years of marriage, I feel that I have fallen out of love with my wife. I do not want a
divorce. I really want us to work and to be a good example to my kids. Any suggestions? Jerome B.
Answer:
Dear Jerome, a successful marriage requires falling in love with your spouse many times. Find ways to
bring back the love you once shared. Look for the positives in your mate instead of harping on the
negatives. And, don’t forget to thank God for your spouse everyday. Remember, you are an example of
how your children view marriage. What they see and learn from you will affect how they handle their own
future marriage.
The following are tips to keep your marriage alive and bringing back that spark that you once shared:
* Start by saying, “I love you everyday. Even if you don’t feel it at the time, say it anyway. Say it in the
morning before you leave for work, during the day while at work and in the evening. If you have fallen out
of love, keep saying it anyway, everyday. If you keep planting the seeds, God will water it and eventually
you will fall back in love.
*Find an activity that you can do together. Exercise, ride bikes or play tennis.
* Plan a 30 minute walk each evening. This gives you time to not only get a workout in, but gives you time
to talk and reflect on your day. Holding hands helps bring back intimacy.
* Go out on regular dates. If you have young kids, hire a sitter. It’s an investment into your relationship. If
funds are low, trade off with others who have kids and also need an occasional night out.
* Take a vacation every year without the kids. (Even if it’s only a long weekend)
* After an argument, make up immediately and move on.
* Forgive, forgive and forgive offences everyday. If you immediately forgive and move on, the enemy
won’t have a place to slip into your marriage.
* Stay in an intimate mood and try to keep things sexy between you by flirting with your spouse. Don't ever
underestimate the power of flirting.
* Have intimate relations. Have lots of intimate relations. This action is important to intimacy in your
marriage. Even if you don't want to, get in the habit of doing it, you'll probably enjoy it as you did in the
beginning of your relationship.
* For those who constantly say “no” because they are tired, change your way of thinking. Instead of saying,
“I’m too tired to have intimate relations”, say, “I’m so tired; I need to have intimate relations.” It is
invigorating and also a form of exercise.
* Having lots of intimate relations keeps you healthy and aids in your weight loss program. Before long
you’ll be telling your spouse, “let’s do it again I have five more pounds to lose.” In addition, studies show
that couples who are intimate three or more times a week look ten years younger than those who make love
less.
* Another word to the wise married women and men, just because you stopped wanting intimate relations,
does not mean your spouse stops wanting it. If you don’t “give it up” someone else will. In addition, most
couples are always in better moods and happier when they are satisfied.

THE BATCHERLOR

SPORTS UPDATE
A clip, “A Question of Race” ran on The Mouse’s “Outside the Lines” program -- a show which is supposed to
reflect the organization’s journalistic chops.
The reporter on this piece, Jemele Hill, was nothing more than a stain on a blue dress when it came to credibility as Robby Wells,
former head coach at Savannah State University, alleged he was discriminated against by the historically Black university as he
went 7-17 in his two seasons as the head football coach. According to the clip, the bone of contention in the piece was a he
said/she said as to whether things were done within the proper levels of compliance; as well as his relationship with his fiancé,
who was Black. A television show produced by Wells without the blessing of SSU administration -- where Wells’ fiancé was the
host -- further exacerbated unfavorable response between Wells and the school. Now given the tension that goes with
Black/White anything in this country, I won’t rule out that aspect. We have seen this happen with coaches like Charles Strong
and Turner Gill; Black men with white wives who were passed over for head coach spots because of their partners being (in some
minds) the wrong color. Strong and Gill have moved on (to Louisville and Kansas, respectively) but both coaches had been
winners (Gill a conference winning head coach, Strong an assistant on a national champion) while Wells’ resume was being
augmented with a 2-10 second season as head coach of the Tigers. For whatever reason you wish to throw into the mix, pro or
con, going 2-10 in a results-driven business like college football -- on any level -- would not guarantee job security for anyone
possessing a scintilla of common sense. But the most alarming revelation had to do with recruiting of players for the Tigers.
Coach Wells accused the school of not holding up to their commitment to five players he recruited prior to his resigning his head
coach job in January of this year. All five of the recruits were white; and this is where Wells and Hill show their true colors. As
Wells continued to rail about how SSU officials said disparaging things about him, Hill, in speaking to some of those recruits and
SSU AD Marilynn Stacey-Suggs, fails to ask the most important questions regarding the paper trail which would verify the
recruits or school having a binding agreement to come in as a student-athlete via scholarship. Hill’s negligence and failure to do
her due diligence in this regard led to a purposeful muddying of the waters in the piece, which led to ESPN’s slamming of
Savannah State in their prime time programming. When you consider this was on the heels of Savannah State’s recent inclusion
to the Mid Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), the intent to skewer an HBCU like SSU seemed clear. Up to this point in
ESPN’s history, HBCU’s never got the time of day, aside from the 15 seconds during Black History Month; or to belittle the
athletic talent coming from those schools as shills like Mel Hyper and Todd McNugget pimp ignorant Black men out of
indentured pigskin servitude.
Horace Broadnax was a member of Georgetown University’s NCAA champion basketball team in the 1980s and the current
Men’s basketball coach at SSU. “It’s a shame ESPN would spend more time to attempt to put our program in a bad light than do
the work necessary to present an objective piece.” Broadnax, who was a guest on the BASN/BlogTalkRadio.com show The
Batchelor Pad, took issue with the recruiting style of former coach Wells. When asked about his approach to recruiting,
Broadnax brought a couple of significant points to light. “If I or any of my co-coaches are bird-dogging kids, we’re going to be in
constant communication with each other. “Then when we are all together, we sit down and weigh the merits and liabilities of
every prospective student-athlete; while determining whether he will be a good investment for the program.” The path of any
paper trail with Wells’ would be solved if Hill had merely asked the kids Wells spoke to show their copies of any letter of intent
or anything indicating the school had entered into a kind of binding agreement with them. While SSU says they have no
paperwork, Hill made little or no effort to redress the imbalance of the report; and the Tigers’ interim football coach
acknowledged Wells did not communicate any information regarding any of the kids cited in the piece. So who do we believe?
From the piece, it is quite garbled. While some may believe in an administrator like Ms. Suggs, who appeared to want to be
above the fray, her responses to Hill’s questions did not provide a clear cut indication of validation; but more because she didn’t
provide any information which could slam dunk any spurious allegations of so-called “reverse racism.” Meanwhile, you have a
man in Wells who didn’t see fit to work within the framework of the organization that hired him crying about how unfairly he
was treated; in spite of the fact he could not produce when called upon. I get the distinct feeling that if I were to shake hands with
this person, I would be counting my fingers afterward. But Hill’s performance was the worst component of all. This insipid
invertebrate of a woman allowed her bosses to prepare a slime piece without any effort to offer balance; designed no doubt by the
same scumbags who sit in the production meetings with malevolent intent as they continued to gore SSU in prime time.
This from the same news organization that tried to bury Ben Roethlisberger’s indiscretions - for three full days. Interestingly
enough, more of a case for redress was made when the former baseball coach, a white man who was an alumnus, was presented.
The coach, who had a winning record and left the school as SSU’s all-time leader in games won, received a settlement from the
school in an agreed litigation.

Dominion Virginia Power after getting caught over charging all

pay back what was stolen, now ask he State for a rate increase next
year to help pay for two power stations that they are building. If we
had elected officials who looked out for the community they would
block the increase and if they really want to help they would let
other power companies come in so the people could have a choice
and they would have to compete for our business like the phone

Mayor Dwight Jones favors building a new city jail at the

of a jail being built there has met opposition from nearby residents.

as the developer, with legal counsel that includes the law firm of
state Sen. Henry L. Marsh III, D-Richmond, and a close political

The story of whether or not Johnny Gill is gay
The paparazzi busted comedian actor Eddie Murphy and his so called live
in friend, singer Johnny Gill of the group "New Edition" leaving a posh
gay night club in Los Angeles. When the paparazzi asked Murphy if he
was gay and why he was exiting a gay night spot, he threw his hand up in
the air to shield himself from the camera and shouted out obscenities. This
doesn't look good for either Murphy or Gill. The ex-girlfriend of singer
Johnny Gill is now speaking out about her recent split up with the singer.
She tells Atlanta Gossip, (AG) reporter Tiffany Long that Johnny is
struggling with his sexuality and that Hollywood has put pressure on him
to be straight.
