Swiss – American business interests in the US Midwest. We are proud to provide
this unique resource as one of many products the SABC produces to strengthen
the Swiss American business relationship.
The Swiss – American business relationship is very strong. Switzerland remains
the 6th largest foreign investor in the US with a substantial level of investments in
manufacturing, food processing, chemicals, and pharma. Swiss FDI in the US is
one of the largest of all countries (2010: 1st; 2011; 2nd; 2012: 6th) and Swiss
companies consistently offer the highest salaries in the field of research and
development in the United States.
Our members are proud contributors to this relationship and continue to support
our efforts in promoting this successful bond. We thank our members and

Welcome to the Swiss American Business Council of Chicago! We are proud to be the premiere membership-based
business platform representing the strong Swiss-American commercial relations in Chicago and the Midwest. We serve the
communities through business events, social networking, information exchanges, publications and many more efforts.
The great news is we are experiencing exciting times at the SABC!! The organization has developed its brand and reputation over the last 14 years and now is in the middle of a growth phase. We believe it is of critical importance to create a
vibrant, productive, and progressive Swiss-American business community here in the heartland of the US, the center of
manufacturing, and as such, a vital meeting point of substantial elements of Swiss and American industries. To build upon
this tremendous relationship we plan to increase our efforts and offer our members the following benefits:
EVENTS - NEW MOMENTUM
The SABC hosts 10-15 events per year, ranging from
conferences on cutting-edge technologies to social
gatherings for various industry sectors. We also host our
annual Christmas Dinner and Swiss National Day
Celebration, which are favorites among our members.
We also co-host events during the year, and offer exclusive and discounted invitations for certain events.

AND
INFORMATION
EXCHANGE – NEW KNOWLEDGE
The SABC plans to become a vital coordinator of
information resources for the region. A new SABC
Business Directory will be published, the leading
resource for Swiss and American entities in the
Midwest critical to the strong business relationship. Members have exclusive access to participate
in this platform. Corporate members are entitled to
advertise in our publications and promote their
information as well.
DATABASE DEVELOPMENT – NEW CONTACTS
A database is the heart and soul of a trade association
and we will input substantial resources into the
enhancement of ours. We will update and enhance our
contacts. In addition, a new initiative to expand our
database beyond the Chicagoland area, and into other
"Swiss business clusters" within the Midwest will offer
new contacts and opportunities. Corporate members
can take advantage of the database via the SABC.
EXPOSURE — NEW BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
With all the new vehicles of communication to our
members and friends in Chicago and the Midwest,
there will be ample opportunities to promote business,
brands and messages through the SABC.
Traditional publications and events offer other effective
means of promotions and exposure. We can also offer
new, creative ways to access our community for the
benefit of business, including social media. Corporate
members are encouraged to work with us to develop
relevant initiatives in this area

The SABC is perfectly positioned to act as the "Welcome
