April Showers Bring May Flowers!!
Happy April Alegria! It’s that’s time of the year to get our spring cleaning done
and get our yards ready for the beautiful flowers. It’s also time to enjoy our yards
and the nice weather.
As most of you know, Julie will leaving at the end of the month and I would like
to invite you all to the Community Center on April 16 from 5-7 p.m. to show her
our appreciation and thanks for all that she has done for us over the last nine years.
Also, to wish her good luck in her new position and future endeavors.
A Few Notes:
One request I have and I know you’re tired of hearing it. Please curb your dogs PLEASE! Over the
last few weeks, I have noticed little paw marks in neighbor’s yards when I am out doing my compliance reports. I know all of you have spent a lot of time, energy, and money on your landscaping.
We really need to be respectful of our neighbor’s yards and property.

World Cuisine Celebrates…THE YEAR OF AMERICA: WEST COAST MODERN
World Cuisine will continue our journey around this beautiful land of ours all the way to America’s rockin’ and rollin’
West Coast (no earthquake pun intended.) The Regional America: West Coast Modern dinner will be held at 6 p.m.,
Tuesday, April 21, at Pacific Paradise, (a.k.a. our Community Center,) and will feature cuisine from Alaska to the Baja,
including Hawaii, which is more or less in the same general direction.
This fabulous evening will be hosted by an All-Star Team of Alegria’s own Femmes Extraordinaire, including Liz
Atherton, Joanne Burkhart, Betty Garner, Helena Herning and Leslie Yurkovich. Thank you. Everyone is welcome
to share in the feasting and celebration. If you plan to attend, please let either Suzy or Sara know that you will be joining us so that the host committee can prepare the appropriate number of table settings. Also, please e-mail Sara what
dish you will be bringing.
So pack up your appetites; let’s hit the road and get ready for some fine dining on all the great foods America’s West
Coast has to offer. See you at Pacific Paradise. Bon Appétit

From Julie Karl
My last day at Alegria
is April 24 and I
wanted to share a few
thoughts especially for
new homeowners to
Alegria.
My best advice to
new homeowners is
to always be ready for
drop-in guests. You’d
be surprised how a trip to the mailbox or a walk
around the block ends up taking three hours.
You cannot hide here. Our residents all know
their neighbors and they want to know you.
The best part of my day always has been when
people tell me their age. I am blown away by
how active and young people look in comparison to their age. It reminds me to keep moving,
be positive and see what you can achieve. Age is
truly just a number in Alegria and doesn’t reflect
what you can do. I loved when people told me
how sore they were from dancing at an Alegria
party! Thanks for everything! I will miss you.
Easter Potluck
Sunday, April 5 - 2 p.m.
Sign-up to attend an Easter potluck at the
Community Center at 2 p.m. Please sign-up
for something specific
to bring. Also, please
bring your own plates,
utensils and drinks.
Deadline is April 2.
See the bulletin board
to sign-up and for
details.
