Jumpstart gives kids a sporting chance. Kids
aged 4 to 18 from families in financial need can
receive funding to help with registration fees,
equipment and/or transportation. Jumpstart
knows that physical activity isn’t just about soccer
fields, ice rinks, karate mats and baseball
diamonds. Physical activity is the key to what we
fund. The list is long (more than 70 activities!) and
every kid can find something they would like to do
for the love of play. Just to name a few: hockey,
swimming, baseball, soccer, karate, skating,
dance, gymnastics, and even girl guides.
Apply on line at www.jumpstart.canadiantire.ca or
call 1-844-937-7529
Forms are also available at the Davidson Centre

When cancelling a facility rental or program

Get ready to sweat and have fun! A great class for all levels of fitness
to tone up and burn calories. We start with a 20 minute step up, then
we blend some cardio drills with strength training exercises. Challenge
yourself to a total body workout!
Strength Training
Cardio is great but make sure to round out your exercise routine with
strength training! Work your muscle groups with different size weights and
exercises to boost your routine and see overall improvements in your
health!
Circuit & Step
Young & Old will groove while working out different muscle groups.
The steps offer a great aerobic work out for the heart. Free weights
and bands work your muscles. Get fit and have some fun!
Stretch & Flow
This class incorporates the principles of yoga in a relaxing, peaceful
atmosphere. Focus is on modifying stretching moves for different body
types. Stretching is static, allowing muscles and joints to ease into moves.
Functional Fitness
Exercise designed to incorporate the use of small stabilizer muscle
groups, to prevent and to assist in recovery of muscle imbalance.
Includes a strong cardio component with more focus on joint stability,
more core work and some use of stability ball and Thera bands.
Swing Fit NEW!
Introducing a 60-minute workout for everyone! Solo dance moves will make
you sway, swing and jive into increased rhythm, balance, and freedom of
movement. Targeting cardiovascular efficiency, total body endurance, and
joint mobility.
Latin Cardio
Theses original cardio workouts will have you moving and grooving!
The instructor will use dance moves, steps and other fun tactics to give
you an incredible aerobic workout!
Zumba
Join us for a Latin dance party! The instructor uses a variety of dance
moves to give participants a fun aerobic workout set to thumping beats to
keep you pumping!
Pilates
Basic traditional mat Pilates class, incorporating breathing,
concentration, control, flow and relaxation. Build your core strength
through simple techniques for a stronger, leaner and healthier body.
Zumba Gold NEW!
The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba® choreography
that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. Come ready to
sweat, and prepare to leave empowered and feeling strong.

ADULT UNDER WATER HOCKEY
Underwater hockey is exactly what it sounds like. Wearing fins,
mask, and a snorkel, the object of the game is to score goals using
a stick and puck. Whether you’ve been playing for years or just a
beginner, this aquatic sport will get your heart rate up and blood
pumping. If you’re a beginner or interested in the sport, the team
will be offering two free nights Sept. 6 and 13 for anyone interesting
in trying out the sport. There is equipment to borrow from the
Davidson Centre.

you will learn the basics and rules of the sport, swimming with fins,
using a mask and snorkel, stick handling, shooting, passing, and
communicating while underwater.

TRAIL WALKING, BIRDING
AND BIKING
Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority’s 80
acre property at Stoney Island, on Country
Road 23, is located 4 kilometers north of
Kincardine Hospital. There are 10 kilometers
of trails on this beautiful property available for
multiple uses during most of the year. In fall
watch waves of birds migrating south along
the Lake Huron flyway, enjoy the quiet of the
trails, search for the 3 Geo-caches, and
explore the new mountain-bike trail. When
sufficient snow accumulates, the trails are
reserved for skiing and snowshoeing and no
dogs or walking are permitted. The trails are
managed and groomed for skiing by the
Kincardine Cross Country Ski Club (who
work with SVCA to manage the property).
For safety reasons, no walking on the trails
when they are set for skiing.

KINCARDINE to INVERHURON
PROVINCIAL PARK (KIPP) TRAIL
The Kincardine Trails Association was formed in 2001 and have developed 30km of trails to date thanks in part to the
Municipal Public Works staff and our many volunteers. The Kincardine Trails Strategy document defines the trail system
into three areas namely; Phase I - Town of Kincardine, Phase II - Kincardine to Inverhuron Provincial Park,
Phase III - Inverhuron Provincial Park to the north municipal boundary.
Phase II, aka the 'KIPP Trail' will make use of the west portion of the Bruce Road 23 (B-Line) ditch for the 5km between
Huron Ridge and Kin Huron subdivisions. The trail will then allow the lower roads, trails and pedestrian bridges to connect
to the South East corner of Inverhuron Provincial Park. This proposed addition of a 12km trail from Kincardine north to
Inverhuron Provincial Park, will address the increased demand for active transportation and recreational opportunities.
This initiative is scheduled to occur during 2016 through 2018.
The projected construction cost for the KIPP Trail is $845,000. The Kincardine Trails Association has committed to fundraising
$240,000. You can support the development of the KIPP Trail by donating $20 for each metre.
Charitable Donation Receipts will be issued for the full amount.
