For those I haven’t yet had the opportunity
to meet, my name is, Donnie Gray, I walked
on TW-92, I attend Beach Fellowship, and I
sat at the Table of the “Lifesavers.
It is an honor, and a privilege to be your
servant for 2015. I am fortunate to have a
great group on the Board of Directors.
This year we will all strive to make this a
very productive and successful year. With
God’s help this will happen. One of our goals
this year will be to increase our “numbers” at
gatherings. We have over 1,300 people in
the Tidewater Emmaus community, but
unfortunately we only average 50 to 60
people at our monthly meetings. If you have
not been attending, for whatever reason, we
invite you back. Remember how “great” and
“blessed “ you felt at Sunday closing of your
walk….You can have that feeling again by
inviting a friend, someone you walked with,
a team member, etc. to our next Gathering
on 18 January 2015. If there is something
you feel would improve our monthly
gatherings please let me know at:
[email protected].
I promise you I
will get back to you.
Remember there is no “I” in “Our
Community.” We can only be successful with
your support.
May God continue to bless you and keep you
safe. I look forward to meeting all of you this
year.
De Colores!!!

This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and

My Name is Greg Reinhart, I attend Nimmo
United Methodist Church, I Walked on
TW94 and sat at the Table of Christ's Hands
CLAP!!
Hi everyone, I am blessed to have been
elected by you to serve this beloved
community for the next three years!
My wife, Deb (TW95), and I live in Virginia
Beach. I run my training and consulting
business working in the areas of Project
Management, Business Analysis, Six Sigma
and other related skills.
This year it will be my pleasure and blessing
to serve this community as the Director of
Records. I look forward to seeing you, and
speaking with you at Gatherings and other
Community events! Should you know
someone that is not currently receiving our
community information please forward it to
them
AND

me
know
at:
[email protected].
We wish everyone a blessed 2015.
De Colores!!
Greg
Hello, my name is Joyce Thompson, I walked
on TW-54 and sat at the table of God’s Green
Gardner’s and I have the honor to serve on
the Tidewater Emmaus Board as your
Treasurer this year.
What exactly does your treasurer do? My job
is to handle all the financial obligations for
our Community. I do what everyone does for
your personal finances, i.e. balance the check
book, pay the bills, the one thing I do that
most of us don’t do is present a monthly
report to the Board showing what we
received and how the funds were used.
If you are new to the community you may not
know that we are a 501c(3) Non-Profit
organization. We take up an offering at each
gathering (cash and checks payable to
Tidewater Emmaus are welcome) to cover
our month to month expenses. 50% of the
offering each month goes to the Tidewater
Chrysalis. You can also donate from the
website through Just Give. These donations
can be a onetime gift or set up as a recurring
donation.
Walk expenses are covered from the fees we
collect for the pilgrims and teamers. It costs
$13,000 to $15,000 for each walk, depending
on the number of pilgrims. We are required
by Wakefield to make a 50% deposit to them
60 days prior to the walk start date; this is
why we now require submission of all fees up
front.
One thing we need to do this year is replace
the teaming manuals this will cost us
approximately $900.00.
When you are
selected to team you receive a manual which
gives you information on what is expected of
you during the teaming process and on the
weekend.
At the end of teaming these
manuals are collected to be used again for
the next walk. As with all information
things are updated and changes made, our
manuals at this time are pretty old and have
pages missing. If you would like to help with
the cost of this please send a donation or put
in the offering at a gathering just make a
note that it is for the cost of the manuals.
If you have any questions please let me
know. As I said in the beginning it is an
honor to serve on the Tidewater Emmaus
Board.
De Colores!!

Preston Best
Hello, my name is Preston Best; I walked on
TW-88, I attend Rosemont Christian Church
and sat at the table of “Men of One Accord”.
Just a little bit about myself. My favorite
Bible verse is Ephesians 2:8-9 8For it is by
grace you have been saved, through faith—
and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of
As the Director of Communication I will keep
you current on all the events and issues of
interest for the Community. You may receive
emails occasionally in addition to monthly
newsletters. I will be maintaining our
Facebook page, so all Facebook friends

problems. In addition I am currently working

walks in the photo album section. I will be
adding all of the missing walks to the album.
Once they have been uploaded please look
them over and let me know of any
information that is incomplete or needs
correcting.
As a new board member for 2015 I am
excited about the challenges we will be
facing in the coming year. I pledge to do my
best to serve the community to the BEST of
my ability in the duties that I have been
chosen. May God bless us all as we work to
be His hands and feet.

TW-88
Director of Communication
Wanted once again to say thank you to all of
the community who made our Fall walk a
great success.
It is never too early to start getting Agape
ready for the Spring walks. Just bring what
you have to the gatherings and pass it on to
me. We do have some Agape left from the
Fall walk and we can use it for the Spring
walks. I have plenty of
space to store until the
walks. I will have place
mats to color at the
January
gathering.
Look me up and I will
give you some. If you
cannot
be
at
the
Gathering, give me a call, and I will get them
to you. I will be putting out a list of the
needed Agape items for the Spring walks in
the January newsletter.
Again thanks for all your prayers and agape
for the Fall walk. And I cannot wait to see
what you have for the Spring walks.

Rhonda Huff, Director of Agape
Church, walked on TW 77 and sat at the
table of Hannah. I am blessed to serve this
year
as
your
Director
of
Sponsorship/Registration.
I am super
excited to be able to speak to so many of you
as you sponsor these wonderful pilgrims as
well as talk directly to the pilgrims once
their applications have been received. NOW
is the time to think about who God is laying
on your heart to walk this spring. With each
pilgrim that is sponsored, we are building
His kingdom here on Earth. We are showing
the love of Christ and strengthening His
church! Please look at these dates and first
PRAY! Then begin sharing with your family
and friends what the Walk to Emmaus is all
about. Make the invitation and then allow
the Holy Spirit to do the rest.
TW 107 Men’s Spring Walk – April 16-19,
2015
TW 108 Women’s Spring Walk – April 30 –
May 3, 2015
We must have 20 CONFIRMED pilgrims
before mid February, so please send the
applications in now. Once we make the 20
confirmed, we will continue to take
applications until the walks are full.
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we
profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let
us consider how we may spur one another on
toward love and good deeds, not giving up
meeting together, as some are in the habit of
doing, but encouraging one another—and all the
more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews
