Animated Universe (2-3) - Mon.
The exciting exploration of planets and galaxies set the stage for this year's 2-3 grade animated adventure.
Only in animation can your child explore the universe of their imagination as they draw fantastic creatures
and dream of life on other planets. Using iPads and animation apps your child will help create 'Iolani
Animation's first outer space cartoon. Using traditional and digital drawing as well as digital puppetry children
will create their own original class film in this fall. Next spring students will continue their out-of-this world
adventure as they create their own stop-motion creature puppets and work with stereo anaglyph apps to see
their animation take form in new dimensions!
This course will be taught by Dan Boulos who has animated on more than 10 feature film productions in
Hollywood and owns Hawaii's longest running animation company Wiki Wiki Cartoons founded in 2001. He
currently leads the Animation Program for the University of Hawai'i, Manoa's Academy for Creative Media
