The SportsPlex has portable mounds and varied base distances,
along with portable fencing if needed. The complex also includes
a warm-up plaza, two family-size pavilions, playground and
batting cages. Fields can be arranged to accommodate adult
or youth games.
Joe Davis Stadium is Huntsville’s professional baseball stadium.
It is home to the Huntsville Stars, Double-A affiliate of the
Milwaukee Brewers. Joe Davis Stadium is also used to play
AHSAA baseball games. It was built in 1985 and has 15
air-conditioned skyboxes. In 2006, the stadium was renovated
to include a new scoreboard and video-boards.

Recreation Service and is a joint-use facility with Huntsville
City Schools. Located in Challenger Elementary School, the
gymnasium has one high school regulation court which can be

The Fern Bell Recreation Center is one of the city’s largest recreation
centers. Its layout consists of two regulation high school
basketball courts, a fitness room, an activities room and a
demonstration kitchen.
Optimist Recreation Center provides basketball, football,
baseball, softball, computer labs, a library and meeting rooms
for small groups.

Course Details: A very challenging 50 acres of diverse terrain,

holes. Four holes have water hazards and over half the holes
have some OB danger. Multiple pin positions and the longer
holes have baskets in both long and short positions. Aluminum

Golf Trail, Hampton Cove provides 54 holes of championship golf
in a river valley setting surrounded by mountains. The Highland and
River Courses have bent grass greens while the Short Course is a

ranges and dining area with a balcony overlooking the course.

The Natatorium, also known as the “Nat,” is Huntsville’s

The Athletic Club Alabama is a private facility but will partner
with the Huntsville Tennis Center to host various tournaments.
The club has indoor facilities that can be used in case of weather
and includes a workout area. Certified tennis instructors
are available. Athletic Club Alabama hosts the Rocket City
Futbol Indoor Soccer League games and has one of the only
full-size, dedicated squash courts in the Southeast.

Huntsville Tennis Center is a USTA certified center and hosts
various USTA National Tennis tournaments each year. The

The 120’ x 210’ indoor heated arena floor is surrounded by
a concrete concourse with retractable stadium seating that will
accommodate approximately 1,500 people. A 120’ x 180’
outdoor warm-up arena is also available. The 250’ x 150’
covered pavillion is equipped to handle all types of livestock and
contains 65 10’ x 10’ horse stalls, 52 10’ x 14’ cattle stalls and 3
concrete wash racks.

The facility also includes a conference room and foyer which is
ideal for events or vendor space. The center is surrounded by
500 marked parking spaces along with 3 acres of gated graveled
parking spaces. There are also 14 RV or trailer hook-ups that

Located in Big Spring International Park in the heart of downtown, the VBC is convenient to hotels,
restaurants and attractions. The VBC Propst arena can accommodate over 9,000 spectators
(7,000 if the arena floor is used for the event) and has four locker rooms with showers. The arena
also has a 2,100 square foot hospitality room which seats up to 210 people.
The arena is home to the Huntsville Havoc (Southern Professional Hockey League), the University
of Alabama-Huntsville Chargers (hockey) and Alabama Hammers (arena football).
This facility can accommodate other sports competitions such as wrestling, volleyball, gymnastics
and cheerleading/dance.
