Program for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
The Pioneer Autism Sensory Center (PASC) offers comprehensive programs for students aged 3 to 21 with
autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Our program is built on evidence-based, research-driven instructional
approaches. We use a diverse, multilevel approach targeting the specific needs and challenges faced by
students with autism. Our data-driven, evidence based program is built on the following foundations:
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
Analysis of Verbal Behavior
Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)
Functional Living Skills
High staff-to-student ratio
Natural Environment Teaching (NET)
Quarterly Clinic Meetings
Social Skills
Structured Community Outings
Technology-assisted learning
Visually-Based Communication Aids
In addition to our self-contained main campus facility, we offer community-based “Host” classrooms housed in
local public school buildings that provide our intensive PASC services in a less restrictive environment. Our
Host classrooms place an extensive emphasis on social skills development and exposure to general education
curriculum to the greatest extent possible. In addition to PASC services, our Host classes grades K-8 offer:
• Inclusion opportunities
• Increased exposure to general education curriculum
• Self monitoring and self regulation skill development
Additional programs and therapeutic services as needed include:
Special Programs
Therapeutic Services
Aquatics
Art Education
Physical Education
Counseling/Social Skills Training
National Certified Crisis Prevention Training (CPI)
Occupational Therapy
Physical Therapy
Speech and Language Therapy
