About The Area
Buckhead
Buckhead
Buckhead is at the center of Atlanta's most thriving district for business, shopping, fine dining, and nightlife. You could
have a second career of discovering all the area has to offer.
It has been called "The Beverly Hills of the East." Buckhead is, indeed, an exceptional place. It is a community that
shines with vitality and vision. Buckhead is one of the country's largest urban mixed-use development areas, combining
major offices, retail outlets, hotels, restaurants, entertainment spots and high-rise residential units within its commercial core. And closely surrounding its bustling business center, beneath a community-wide tree canopy, are serene and
stable neighborhoods. Everything is here, and everyone is welcome. It's a great place to visit, to play, to work, to live.
It's such a major part of Atlanta that if you don't know Buckhead, you don't know Atlanta!
The facts speak for themselves: Atlanta's largest percentages of population and employment growth have occurred
here year after year. Buckhead had about a ten percent increase in its commercial space in recent years, when much of
the country was talking recession. We now have access to the Interstate Highway system (and the rest of the world)
through the extension of Georgia Highway 400. Buckhead is also a haven for entrepreneurs. Inc. Magazine identified
Buckhead as the community with "the greatest concentration of small companies anywhere in the U.S." and Pricewaterhouse Coopers, describes Buckhead as one of the "nation's best sub cities". Come on in, the opportunity is fine.

About The Area
Midtown
Midtown
Midtown Atlanta is the second largest business district in the city of Atlanta, situated between the commercial and
financial districts of Downtown to the south and Buckhead to the north. Midtown has a resident population of 30,000,
a workplace population of 68,000, a student population of 20,000. The district attracts about six million visitors
annually.
Midtown is marked by its cultural attractions, institutions of higher education, noteworthy architecture, and urban
layout. The district is the center of the city's arts scene that includes the Fox Theatre, Woodruff Arts Center, the High
Museum of Art, the Museum of Design Atlanta, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Center for Puppetry Arts, and the
14th Street Playhouse. Midtown is also home to three well known institutions of higher education: Georgia Institute of
Technology, John Marshall Law School, and the Atlanta division of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).
Midtown contains about one-third of the city's high-rises and some of Atlanta's most iconic buildings, such as the Bank
of America Plaza, AT&T Midtown Center, Atlantic Center, and 1180 Peachtree. Midtown has also been a primary area
for high-density development in the city due to the district's mass transit options and urban street grid.
The Midtown Alliance, a group of volunteers, employees, and business and community members, was formed in 1978
in order to work towards improving the overall quality of life in Midtown and transform it into an ideal place for people
to actively live, work, and play. Activities of the Alliance include improving the neighborhood safety, developing area
arts and education programs, and building community leaders. The master plan from the Alliance, called Blueprint
Midtown, is credited with fueling the economic resurgence that has helped the once downtrodden Midtown area
transform over the past number of years into a popular neighborhood.
In a 2011 Creative Loafing article claimed that:
No part of the city has evolved more dramatically over the past two decades...Impersonal office buildings, imposing
parking decks and cold asphalt arteries have given way to high-rise living and an explosion of street life...Where once
there was a wasteland, now there are great restaurants, groceries, specialty shops, townhouses, lofts and ... people.
Day and night, there are many things to do in Midtown Atlanta. By day, enjoy outdoor recreation, shopping and art
galleries. By night, catch award-winning performances and top entertainers.

Atlanta
Atlanta
Atlanta is an exciting destination with world-class restaurants, a festive nightlife, several major league sports teams and
an abundance of cultural attractions. Atlanta's arts and culture scene is complemented by in-town neighborhoods that
give the city even more depth. These locations are in the neighborhoods of Midtown, Virginia-Highland, Little Five
Points and Inman Park - a short cab ride away.
Home to the busiest and most efficient airport in the world, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and the
Maynard H. Jackson International Terminal, getting to Atlanta is easy. With a variety of transportation options throughout the city, our guides, maps, shuttles, tours and Atlanta Ambassadors make getting around Atlanta easy too.
Encompassing $304 billion, the Atlanta metropolitan area is the eighth-largest economy in the country and 17th-largest
in the world. Corporate operations comprise a large portion of the Atlanta’s economy, with the city serving as the regional, national, or global headquarters for many corporations. Atlanta contains the country’s third largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies, and the city is the global headquarters of corporations such as The Coca-Cola Company,
The Home Depot, Delta Air Lines, AT&T Mobility, UPS, and Newell-Rubbermaid. Over 75 percent of Fortune 1000 companies conduct business operations in the Atlanta metropolitan area, and the region hosts offices of about 1,250 multinational corporations. Many corporations are drawn to Atlanta on account of the city’s educated workforce; as of
2010, nearly 43% of adults in the city of Atlanta have college degrees, compared to 27% in the nation as a whole and
41% in Boston.
